Caliph’s Domain

Here’s a little smart factoid from student student, in case you didn’t already know this. I know some or most all of you are probably angry that California remains a part of the United States. Here is what my textbook says:

Public Service Strikes in France

Lately I’ve realized that many people in the US do not realize that France is going through strikes in the fields of medicine, transportation, and education (in the very least). There are few links I can find that relate to these strikes, especially the one with the schools. In case any of you don’t know, I am spending a semester studying French, so I can give you some inside pictures if you need them.

Good Riddance to Rosie

I have to say I can’t stand the way she’s always hanging her mouth open, and it reflects in every picture you can find of her. Not that I watch “The View”, but apparently she has been outed from this show which she apparently cohosted with Barbara Walters.

The Facts of Gardasil

With Gardasil being a new drug, I’d like to know the side effects, benefits, and what all the hoopla is all about. I’ve read about it a few times before, but I’d like to know more about it. I welcome extra information on this subject- it is an expensive vaccine.

K-Fed “Apoligizes” to Fast Food Workers

Yahoo News

NEW YORK - Kevin Federline has something to say to those who are offended by an upcoming Super Bowl ad featuring him as a fast-food worker: He’s “really sorry.”

“The commercial is completely intended for me, making fun of myself and my own situation,” the aspiring rapper, 28, told Associated Press Television in a recent interview. “It has nothing to do with anybody in the fast-food industry at all. So, you know, if we’ve offended anybody, I’m really sorry about that.”

National Restaurant Association President and Chief Executive Steven Anderson said last week that the ad amounts to a “strong and direct insult to the 12.8 million Americans who work in the restaurant industry.”

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co.‘s 30-second spot shows Federline performing in a glitzy music video. However, the punch line is that he’s daydreaming — while cooking french fries at a fast-food joint.

It’s a “`Saturday Night Live’ skit on myself. ... Maybe it’ll land me some good roles in Hollywood,” said Federline, whose debut rap album, “Playing With Fire,” has had dismal sales since its release last fall.

On Thursday, Federline’s attorney confirmed that K-Fed and estranged wife
Britney Spears will continue to share custody of their two young sons this month, following the terms of a January custody agreement. Spears filed for divorce from Federline in November after two years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

“I’m a good father,” said Federline, who wouldn’t talk about his personal life. “I love my kids and I’ll always be here for (them).”

On Depression

Winter can be a very stressful time of year for anyone. Buying presents, putting up decorations, travelling, and getting back into the swing of things.

Sometimes the rush of the holidays or the lack of sunlight can really get to a person.

September 11th: Uniter or Divider

Or is it both?

The parties have an additional agenda to compete on.  This equates to more mud-slinging and claims of anti-Americanism from both parties. “We are the most American party” is the claim that any party will tell you. They will say not to look at the others. How many people actually look at the issues?

How many people gave each other phone calls to make sure others were ok on September 11th and after that date? It began with more phone calls than the system could handle, but now we are a nation divided. We are a nation divided politically more than we have ever been- this division is in our heads.
