Some Logical Thinking About President Obama and the Concept of Enemy
SOME LOGICAL THINKING ABOUT
PRESIDENT OBAMA AND THE CONCEPT OF ENEMY
When President Obama took office he appeared to have a concept that the world consisted of those who were friendly to America and those who were less friendly. I do not recall the use of the word “enemy.” He went forth with actions based on his friendly, less friendly concept. He gave speeches about respect and the need to get to know each other better. He extended the open hand. For this he was applauded by many and he was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. The less friendlys, however, continued to hate and kill Americans.
After a year as CIC of the world’s best military, he has seen Americans killed under his command. They were surely killed by enemies. He has seen the reports and the statistics, and he has signed letters to the families of the dead. He personally observed the caskets of dead solders killed in Afghanistan as they were unloaded at Dover AF Base. Then came the attack at Fort Hood, where the enemy took the form of an Army Major, a Muslim, who had transformed himself into a suicide killer. The President personally looked at the pictures of the dead, looked into the grieving faces assembled and visited those who survived the attack.
I hope he now accepts the concept of an enemy, filled with hate for Americans, desiring to kill as many as possible. If he still doesn’t “get it”, then it is logical to conclude that there is a serious disconnect in his brain, his heart or his fortitude. The enemy will persist unless they are met with a determined will and all the power the President possesses. They must be defanged or the world faces the risk of hundreds of thousands of innocents killed by the enemy. We Americans and the world wait to see if he has the “right stuff.”
