Court battle over daughters pits dad against kidnappers

Looks like the Pakistani’s are taking cues from our judicial system. This is amazing.
On a side note, the last line of the article gives us an idea what a muslim pakistani thinks of fellow christian pakistani

The father of a Christian family has gone to court to fend off a custody claim launched by those suspected of kidnapping and raping the father’s two young daughters, according to a new report from Compass Direct.

“Yesterday a judge in Pakistan’s Punjab province ordered further investigation into the kidnapping of Saba Younis, 12, and Aneela Younis, 10, who went missing on June 26 in the small town of Chowk Munda,” the Compass report said.

“The kidnappers filed for custody of the girls at the local police house on June 28, stating that the sisters had converted to Islam and their father no longer had jurisdiction over them,” the report said.

Looking forward to those calls…….

Anyone else here going to enjoy taking those calls over the next few months from the Obama and McCain campaigns? Just thinking about the upcoming discussions makes me warm and fuzzy. I plan on getting into discussion with each side on the stances that their Leaders have taken. It should make for some good talks. While I agree with McCain maybe 55% of the time. I agree with Obama even less, about 20%. So I plan on voting for McCain but I am not going to let the phone solicitors for McCain off any easier.

All About Me

Here is how our baby-boom generation solves problems:

1. Recently, George Bush went to Saudi Arabia to ask the ruling House of Saud to pump more oil. That request had about as much chance of success as the Democratic-led congressional effort to “sue” the Saudis in American courts for their selfish “price-gouging.”

The current debate about energy in the United States has devolved into doing the same old thing — consume, don’t produce and complain — while somehow expecting different results. Congress talks endlessly about the bright future of wind, solar and new fuels, while it stops us from getting through the messy present by utilizing abundant coal, shale and tar sands; nuclear power; and oil still untapped in Alaska and off our coasts.

This Memorial Day

A very nicely done website, honoring our Military Hero’s. Hope you enjoy this long week-end and don’t forget to thank a Veteran when you see one.
If you have the time, check out the second URL. Middle and High School choirs performing a very nice rendition of the Battle Hymn of the Republic.
