Conquered From Within

As the media obsesses about Obama on the Leno show and Michelle’s new White House garden, the real story last week went virtually unnoticed. Namely, the Fed announcement that it will be pumping another trillion bucks in to the economy. That’s one trillion dollars it will manufacture out of thin air.
Consider: What would happen if you maxed out your credit cards, borrowed to pay your mortgage, spent all your savings, and then went out and got a new loan, which you had no hope of repaying?
Ronald Reagan knew. He had the rare ability to recognize the obvious, being the sole voice predicting that the former Soviet Union could not possibly sustain its level of spending, and would collapse. It did. To the surprise of all the ‘experts’.
It doesn’t take an expert to predict what will happen when individuals, businesses, or countries spend beyond their means. Joe six-pack in flyover country knows better than most politicians that there are no free lunches, that actions have consequences.
Our elected officials remain blissfully unaware of these basic tenets. Whether through economic ignorance or a political lock-step mentality, both Republicans and Democrats not only continue the massive raid on our present and future tax dollars, they continue to enact policies that make an economic recovery virtually impossible.
While the media focuses the nation’s attention on the faux brou haha of the AIG bonuses, our elected officials lay plans to implement a costly cap and trade system to address the new ‘crisis’ of global warming. Heritage Foundation estimates this will add app $1,800 in energy costs to every American household.
Meanwhile, the popular ‘soak the rich’ class warfare has resulted in a massive tax increase on those making over $250K. Obama blithely states that ‘the rich shouldn’t mind paying their fair share’. Notice, it is now the government that defines what is ‘fair’ and who is ‘rich’.

Noticeable only by its absence, is the historical fact that raising taxes in a recession is economic suicide. Not one of our elected officials has pointed out the obvious and proven fact that lowering taxes fuels the economy while, at the same time, replenishing government coffers.

Instead, most of our elected officials have opted to continue promoting class warfare as both an explanation and a solution to the current economic mess.
Between 70% to 90% of our economy is fueled by and dependent on small businesses, who routinely file taxes as ‘sole proprietors’. Meaning, all their receipts are figured into their gross income, automatically placing them in the ranks of the ‘rich’.
These are the people who are paying for the government’s largess. These entrepreneurs are the very ones who are being demonized, taxed to death and run out of business. These guys are our neighbors. And we are now all complicit in denying them the legitimate fruits of their labor. We are killing the golden goose.

One of the rare political hold outs against the prevailing tsunami, S.C. Gov. Mark Sanford, was twice rejected by the White House when he humbly asked to use the ‘stimulus’ money to pay down S.C.‘s debt.

Like Reagan, Gov. Sanford has been predicting for years what will happen if the U.S. continues its present course: In virtually every public speech he makes, he includes this timeline of nations, learned from 200 years of history:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith
2. From spiritual faith to great courage
3. From courage to liberty
4. From liberty to abundance
5. From abundance to complacency
6. From complacency to apathy
7. From apathy to dependence
8. From dependence back into bondage
Gov. Sanford’s voice is being ignored. As are the voices of an awaking populace, only now realizing that the new Messiah does not have the ability to wave a magic wand and replace reality with a blissful utopian paradise.
Our enemies have realized this all along. And now that the U.S. is in appeasement mode, cutting military spending, and believing that the war on terror can be ignored by redefining it, it is only a matter of time before some Islamic fanatics take advantage of our weakened economic status and our new priority of Kumbaya.
Alas, they may be too late. The Obama administration, with the help of Republicans, has already inflicted more economic damage on this country than the terrorists ever did. And the media has done more to destroy America’s will to fight than legions of suicide bombers ever could. Our enemies may now rejoice that America appears to have been defeated from within. Allah Akbar.

A Contrived Crisis? - You Decide

Through a series of supposedly random but arguably deliberate chain of events, America is poised to jettison 220 years of a free market system called capitalism, in favor of the tried and failed system of socialism. This writer, and others, are now starting to question how we reached this point.

Last summer, as McCain and Obama were in the midst of their campaigns to capture the presidency, a series of events dramatically changed the focus of the campaign from Iraq to the economy. From that point on, Obama took the lead and eventually won the presidency.
June 26, 2008: Democrat Chuck Schumer leaked a memo questioning the solvency of IndyMac bank. This memo precipitated a run on IndyMac which led to its failure. Federal regulators pointedly cited U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., in explaining the bank’s failure. “The immediate cause of the closing was a deposit run that began and continued after the public release of a June 26 letter to the OTS and the FDIC from Senator Charles Schumer of New York.”

This event, coupled with the Lehman Brothers collapse in September, marked the beginning of the current economic meltdown and provided the ammunition for massive government intervention in the private market.

July 12, 2008: The federal government takes control of the $32 billion IndyMac Bank. *

Sept. 6, 2008: Fannie Mae begins its downward spiral, which will end with a crash in November. This crash was avoidable, as the problems with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were identified in June of 2006, when 15 Republicans on the Senate Banking Committee introduced legislation to address the problem. Democrats, led by Barney Frank, killed the reform efforts.
Sept. 15, 2008: Obama and McCain are virtually tied in their race for the presidency. Out of no-where, in the space of less than 2 hours, the Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous drawdown of money market accounts in the U.S. to the tune of $550 billion. Rep. Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania said that if authorities had not closed the banks, $5.5 trillion would have been withdrawn from US banks, which would have caused the collapse of the US within 24 hours.

This seminal event marked the ascendancy of Obama’s candidacy, and eventually resulted in his election as president.

Fast forward to this week. The markets reacted to Obama’s proposal to bail-out mortgages and Senator Christopher Dodd’s talk of nationalizing banks by reaching 11-year lows.

Obama continues to stoke the fears of imminent crisis, actually using the word ‘crisis’ a total of 26 times in one speech.

Enter George Soros. The infamous one-worlder, billionaire George Soros adds his voice to the media doomsayers by opining that the world financial system has effectively disintegrated, adding that there is yet no prospect of near-term resolution to the crisis.

Soros said the turbulence is more severe than during the Great Depression, comparing the current situation to the demise of the Soviet Union.

He may be right. The series of ‘inadvertent errors’, deliberate obstruction, political shenanigans, behind the scenes manipulation of the money markets and non-stop calls for immediate infusions of taxpayer cash have brought the U.S. to its knees.

With one voice, politicians, economists and ‘experts’ agree by unspoken consensus that government is the only solution. No one points out the fact that every single step taken so far by the government has exacerbated the problem, effectively bringing America one step closer to centralized government control. Which, coincidentally, Obama favors.

I am not an economist. But I will challenge any expert to dispute the fact that if President Obama took to the airwaves tomorrow and announced the Bush tax cuts would be extended and a capital gains tax cut was under consideration, the markets would immediately turn around.

That no-one is proposing this common sense solution is alarming. That no free market solutions are even under consideration is more alarming. That no-one is questioning who was responsible for the Sept. 15 run on money market accounts, or why the media was silent on it, lends credence to the possibility that our current economic crisis might not have been the result of a series of random events.

The economic meltdown is undoubtedly responsible for Obama becoming president. It is also responsible for the current consideration of socialistic solutions, if not outright socialism. Without a doubt, this crisis has strengthened the Democratic party. Yet to connect the dots and suggest that this crisis isn’t a result of capitalsm gone bad risks branding this author with the title of paranoid conspiracist.

Color me paranoid. Was this current crisis manufactured? I don’t know. Does the possibility exist? You decide.

* Six months later, Jan 2, 2009, a seven-member group of investors agreed to buy the remnants of failed lender IndyMac for $13.9 billion. Other investors included a fund controlled by billionaire George Soros’ Fund Management.

Our Dangerous Media

What would happen if America won a war and no one reported it? Is it still news? What if a credible argument were made pretty much demolishing Darwin’s theory of evolution? If no media outlet conveyed this information to the American public, does that mean its not a valid argument? Does that mean its not news?
The liberal media would have you believe so. For decades, the old media, consisting of the big three networks and the newspapers of most major cities have had a stranglehold on what information gets disseminated to the public at large. The media elite have decided which issues qualify as news. Not surprisingly, the majority of the information that makes it to the airwaves or in print is overwhelmingly one-sided, reflecting a world-view steeped in progressive values and blatantly hostile to traditional values.
The old media elite, comprised of less than 1% of our population, has set the agenda and defined the issues in America for decades. More importantly, the old media has had the ability to relegate any facts that didn’t conform to their version of reality to the ash heap. If it doesn’t make the news, its not news.
By any measure, America and our allies have won the war in Iraq. Our mission has been accomplished. This is news, even though the media has failed to report it. Iraq’s economy is on track, thanks to much improved security and increased production of oil. Iraq’s fledgling parliament is operating. In other words, we won. The Iraqi people have won. Against tremendous odds.

Because American victory and military success don’t fit the media’s liberal version of America, most Americans remain unaware of the tremendous accomplishments that have been brought about, thanks to president Bush and our brave fighting men. Instead, their focus emcompasses only the price we paid, not the victory we achieved.
Ignoring inconvenient news and embarrassing facts is a tried and true tactic of the liberal media. A prime example is conservative author, Thomas Sowell. Sowell has written dozens of books dealing with race, culture, economics and other issues vital to America. More importantly, his facts have never been rebutted. Knowing there is no chance of disputing Sowell’s studies and conclusions, the media elite have chosen to ignore him. He is simply not a part of their carefully fashioned reality.
That is the fate of any author or pundit who dares to swim against the progressive tide. Can you spell censorship?
Ann Coulter is another example. In her book Godless, Ann makes a credible argument that the theory of Darwinian evolution is a bogus science. The media responded to this serious challenge to one of its core tenets by simply ignoring it, focusing instead on Ann’s cutting observation of four housewives from Jersey who lost their husbands in the 9/11 attack.
From their lofty position of moral self-righteousness, the media roundly condemned Coulter for her lack of sensitivity and empathy. Totally ignored in the ensuing media frenzy, was any mention, much less rebuttal, to Ann’s extremely credible argument demolishing Darwinism.

A majority of Americans are now somewhat aware of media bias. Increasingly, when reading a news story, Americans have the ability to recognize the obvious slant. This is all well and good. What is not well and good, is the fact that many of us are not made aware of all the news out there that is ignored. Credible, relevant facts that are simply not reported.
How many of you are aware that at the recent UN gathering on global warming, 650 renown scientists made a credible challenge to the UN’s conclusion that man-made global warming is a crisis situation requiring ....

I’ve Got Rights!

“I’ve got rights” is now one of the most commonly heard phrases in America. Don’t like your co-workers perfume? Under a new lawsuit, you may soon have the right not to smell it. Want to quit bathing? Soon, your employer may have to accept your grooming habits as long as you claim that BO and shaggy hair are part of your religion. After all, you’ve got rights. Everyone knows that.
Kindergartners, criminals, regular folks, the handicapped and even illegal immigrants know that in America, everyone has rights. If you subscribe to the liberal media, specifically, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, you probably believe your rights now include shelter, food, health care and the right not to be critiqued for being a deadbeat. Or a victim. Or an idiot. Or a pervert. After all, you’ve got rights.
Are you intent on celebrating the culture you left behind ...

Sex Goes Public

The days when sex was a private matter between two consenting adults are gone for good. Sex is now public. In a big way. Subject to instruction, modification and definition by an ever expanding array of bureaucrats, courts, religious leaders, organizations and miscellaneous busy bodies.

Now that it is out of the closet, public sex is being used in a variety of ingenious ways. Mexico City just decided to give out Viagra to every male over the age of 50. Mayor Marcelo Ebrard says the city is implementing the plan because sexuality “has a lot to do with quality of life and our happiness.”
In Australia, an official ‘sex’ party, having enlisted the necessary 500 members, will get an official entry into national politics when it registers with the electoral commission next week. This new sex party sees itself as “a political response to the sexual needs of Australians in the face of moral campaigners and prudish politicians.”
Here in the USA, the left has long been adamant about keeping the government out of bedrooms. With the recent defeat of gay marriage in three states however, they’re changing their tune. Government is now OK, as long as it hews to the progressive view. What can’t be accomplished at the ballot box is now being accomplished by activist judges.
Dating site, E Harmony, originally founded to promote traditional love and marriage, has bowed to a court order and officially agreed to begin matching homosexual couples, beginning next year.

The courts may also replace the people’s votes, especially on California’s Proposition 8, which bans gay marriage. The California Supreme Court just agreed to hear legal challenges to this voter-approved measure. If past rulings are any indication, the voter’s will be over ruled, once again, by the elites on this left leaning, activist court.
Sex sells. It’s controversial and titillating. And government isn’t the only sector rushing in to use sex to promote their own agenda. In South Carolina, a with-it pastor last week challenged his congregation to 7 days of sex. “We want couples to intentionally walk, even run, toward the marriage bed and away from sin city.”
Advertisers, long known for pushing the sexual envelope, are pushing it even further. Penthouse is looking to buy a casino on the Las Vegas Strip and generate business by tying it to the adult magazine and Web site. In Australia a holiday resort is planning a month-long, nude, “anything goes” party. Ostensibly to divert people’s ...

The Return Of The Girly Men

Men across the nation are weeping tears of joy this week. Publicly and unabashedly. The election of Obama has validated and encouraged their right to publicly expose their sensitive inner selves to the world. Feelings rule.

Metrosexuals everywhere are experiencing a collective ‘shiver up their legs’, as they rush to inform one and all of the fascinating complexities and mysteries of their inner emotions.
Setting the example that the new man isn’t a man unless he has the ability to shed tears on cue, was CBS’ Harry Smith. At the end of Wednesday’s CBS Early Show, an emotional Harry Smith declared:”...I wept tears of joy last night.”
Over on ABC, News correspondent Steve Osunsami was reporting live from Morehouse college, and when word of Barack Obama’s victory came, “Steve found himself choking back tears”. He then rushed off to pen his brilliant editorial, A Reporter Reflects on His Own Reaction to the Election. Girly Man meets the me generation.
Demonstrating that Girly Men transcend racial lines, the Reverand Jesse Jackson was caught on tape, weeping his own tears of joy on Obama’s victory. I guess it hasn’t sunk in that Obama’s election takes all the arrows out of Jackson’s quiver but, hey, a man can dream, can’t he?
The Girly Men are back. With a vengence. And I expect they’ll be granted a front row seat in any and all national conversations for the next four years. They are the new and improved version of men. Designed by feminists and launched in a successful frontal assault on America’s outdated notion of masculinity.
Gone are the masculine heros of yesterday - the John Wayne’s and the General Patton’s. Gone are the the testosterone laden warriors and the outdated dudes who think their job is to protect women. They’ve been banished to the fringes of the ‘politically acceptable’, along with all the men who don’t shave their chest hair. (And they don’t even ...
