OIL - Help I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get UP!

Past 24 hours Iran test fires 9 missiles to demonstrate they can blow up Israel.

Oil price doesn’t budge and drifts lower a bit.

And there’s oil bubbling up out of the ground in Northern Iraq

And there are ten reasons why Oil can’t get it on any more.

If Iran testing missiles doesn’t run the price of oil up then what will?

Hang on to your Amoco hat.

Oil Drops like a Rock and not a peep

In case you want proof of the bias of the media to propagate fear why haven’t you heard about the huge fall in oil in the last two days?

To those of us who are market watchers this is no surprise.  This had all the indications of a market top.

But ten bucks in less than a week and no bottom in sight is a reason not to believe the Mainstream Media.  They don’t say a word.

$100?

$80?

$60

I’m guessing between the 60-80 mark.  And right on cue, how this will affect banks was all the headlines on the financial news.

G-8 Leaders Pledge to Cut Greenhouse Gas by half before 2050

This headline is crazy.

As a Christian I have only one question, “What the hell are they thinking about”.

Cutting greenhouse gasses in half by 2050 means you have to kill off the human race pretty much. This is insanity.

Then this morning the light bulb went on.  This is about conserving fuel.

They (world leaders) have come to the conclusion that taxing and encouraging people to use less fuel won’t work. So, they have to inject fear into the world’s population to believe a lie.

This is discouraging and transparent.

And sad for the world.

When the Geenies are in Charge Nothing Happens

A permit to build a coal fired plant using the cleanest burning technologies (very low pollution systems) has been denied in Georgia because there is no amelioration of CO2 production.  We can build new coal power plants that burn almost as clean as natural gas.  There is no such thing as CLEAN COAL but almost clean coal.  This is so wrong it’s nauseating.

This is where the world is gone completely wrong.  There is no HUMAN CAUSED global warming.  There is climate change.  Repeat that until you get it.

So, now a badly needed power supply is held up by a myth propagated by a false religion.

We are in so much trouble if we don’t reign in these crazies now!  We should be building 100 cleaner coal plants and 100 nuclear plants today.  That will take a lot of pressure off, create jobs and help our energy problems.  Just think, you can plug your plug in electric car and drive on nuclear power.

Makes sense to me.  Too much sense for the nuts in Georgia who made this stupid decision.

I smell Obama-Powell

From Newsmax:

Powell, who last month in British Columbia hinted that he might vote for Obama, met with the all-but-certain Democratic presidential nominee in Powell’s Alexandria, Va., office on June 18.

Some were hoping McCain would select Powell.  That would be adding insult to injury.

Where Neo-environmentalism will lead us—- The Earth Yes, But People No?

Joseph Rago’s piece “A Planet Without People” (Taste: de gustibus, June 20) says exactly what I have come to believe. The environmentalists’ true wish is for all the unenlightened masses to disappear and leave the earth to those who can truly appreciate it. Sadly, they haven’t yet found a method for eliminating humans selectively.

Meanwhile, look for more and more social pressure, and possibly laws, to limit the number of children couples can have. Elimination of the unfit (mentally ill, physically handicapped or simply old) will be examined, and seen as a humane solution to many of our problems. Suicide will be regarded as a sacrificial act. We are in danger of being brainwashed into a culture of death.

Do you have the RIGHT to a job?

Apparently in Britain you do.

A young woman owns a hair salon and is sued for $8000 and has to pay because she didn’t hire a Muslim woman who wouldn’t remove her head scarf.

There is a law, the treaty of Lisbon, that has as part of it’s concept:

Everyone has the right to engage in work and pursue a freely chosen or accepted occupation.

So the question is, does everyone have the right to a job even if the job giver doesn’t want to hire you?

I guess in Britain (coming soon to a country near you) you do.

Sustainability and Liberal Extinction

Are liberals extincting themselves?  Is San Francisco a model for the decline of liberalism?  Is the whole idea of Sustainability as a religion a complete myth?  Liberals keep talking about sustainability.  What is that?

From Chicago Boyz Smitten Eagle:

Perhaps we ought to redefine what sustainability is. It ought not mean organic soy milk, fair-trade coffee, the Toyota Prius, or voting for Obama along with the rest of your sorority. It should be more radical than that. It should be an unabashedly pro-human philosophy, as we should recognize that sustaining humanity is our top mission, not sustaining nature. This means using nature for human benefit, not Gaia’s. It means giving economic vitality to humans by creating trade pacts where they can export to the world market. It means opposing autarky. It means recognizing that human life is more important than nature, and affirming humans’ mastery of nature. This sustainability is really humanism, and is the stuff of the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution, and the Globalization, where in each case people have created systems to increase fertility, wealth, and freedom.

And Victor David Hansen’s take on Liberal Sustainability:

I spent some time speaking in San Francisco recently… There are smartly dressed yuppies, wealthy gays, and chic business people everywhere downtown, along with affluent tourists, all juxtaposed with hordes of street people and a legion of young service workers at Starbucks, restaurants, etc. What is missing are school children, middle class couples with strollers, and any sense the city has a vibrant foundation of working-class, successful families of all races and backgrounds. For all its veneer of liberalism, it seems a static city of winners and losers, victory defined perhaps by getting into a spruced up Victorian versus renting in a bad district, getting paid a lot to manage something, versus very little to serve something. All in all, I got a strange creepy feeling that whatever was going on, it was unsustainable–sort of like an encapsulated Europe within an American city. The city seems to exist on tourism, and people who daily come into the city to provide a service, get paid–and leave….

I remember SF in the late 1950s and early 1960s as a kid visiting with his parents. A much different place altogether of affordable homes, vibrant docks, lots of construction—and children everywhere.

While I agree with VDH I think its tragic that a whole artificial culture has devolved into this.  Let’s hope for sanity.  Growth and Development of our internal creative ability will get us out of this, not artificial sustainability.

World Court Asshats

In case you didn’t know, the UN has a judicial body.

International Court of Justice

These august justices who sit there are busy indicting Mexico for not being nice to drug dealers, Israel for retaliating against missles from Gaza and our own George Bush as a war criminal.

I guess the docket must be pretty full right now.  I searched Google News and didn’t find much about the world court and Sudan, Mugabe in Zimbabwe, Mirimar after the storm, North Korea and it’s treatment of it’s people and a dozen other thugocracies.

I guess that doesn’t qualify.  These are hopeless organizations.  GET OUT OF THE UN TODAY!

The Platform that will WIN the White House

The engine of freedom runs on gasoline and diesel, not carbon credits, offsets, cap and trade, empty promises or wishful thinking.

God has supplied everything we need to do the work, to dream the dreams, to solve the problems this country faces if we just will tap into what he has already supplied.

Our creator filled our souls with this energy and filled the resources for us to discover and exploit.  We just need the will.  The courage.  We have everything we need to solve our energy problems except the will to do it.

Vote for ________________________.

This will be filled in by the candidate who really wants to quit pandering and clearly solve the central Issue in America today.

Strapping on my 45

Supremes let concealed carry back into America.  I’m strapping on my 45.

Thank you sirs.  (the madam voted against it)

I feel better already.

Really GOOD news.  I’m gonna miss GWB

I know this will be blogged on a lot.  My $.02 worth is that this action on North Korea is the result of a resolute firm policy and one we won’t have again soon no matter who wins in November.

We will rue the day that George W Bush leaves office.

Thank you Mr President for standing firm.

Good News.

How did MY OIL end up under their sand?

I loved this when I saw it today on Insta Pundit.

Too good not to pass along.

It’s enough to make you wonder when we’re finally going to wake to up to this scam. The OPEC oligarchy is well and truly awake to it. They know they’ve got a couple of decades of mugging the West at increasingly extortionate rates before they all go back to eating sand and cutting each other throat’s for a living.

Okay, they never really gave up on the latter.

But that’s some sweet, sweet action getting your boot on somebody’s throat and forcing them to cough up a lazy trillion or two, and the boss hog of OPEC, Chakib Khelil, has signalled that he doesn’t see any reason why it should change. The current ‘crisis’ meeting in Saudi Arabia, isn’t going to drop the price of crude by a single cent. Not for more than a day or so anyway. Begging OPEC to lay off the gouging is like asking the Mafia to go easy on racketeering.

Read the whole thing.

Oil speculator’s inside perspective

Newscasters are funny people. OK. Not that funny.

Oil prices for the last month or so have been stagnant trading within a sideways trading range.

DIDN’T KNOW THAT?

All you hear is rising oil prices. They haven’t been rising. They go up. News is drastic. Prices went up 3 dollars. Then they go down 5. Silence. Then they go up 4 dollars. Largest price rise in a month. (same territory)

Then they go down. More silence.

So between 130 and 140 the price bounces back and forth. Goes up, big headlines. Goes down, Silence. This sideways movement which doesn’t merit much headline also tends to feed pessimism and fear. That translates to the market.

Now as a trader I’m asking myself this question. What does this mean for me? What is the outcome of this kind of back and forth? When markets trade sideways for a long time like this it means 3 things. One is all the bad news is in. Even if something bad happens (Nigeria blows a fuse) the upward potential is little or none.

It means that trader sentiment to take it to 150 or 175 is not there without some catastrophe. War in Iran perhaps. And that would be short lived.

It also means that there is a building vulnerability to a downward move. There is a top, strong resistance. It can’t break out. The speculative pressure is dying off. The longs are no longer being rewarded for being long. It was easy a while back, buy and hold. Now no more return. So if you are a long you are holding a position you wouldn’t take if you didn’t already have it. If you are a short you are nervous too but with every passing day you become a little less nervous. Things are looking better.

It only takes a little good news, a little production bump, a little trend changing reaction and this thing will get weak fast.

50-70 dollars.

The politicians are all in uproar. And the genius Obama is going to FIX this by dealing with the speculators. I wish someone would give him a basic lesson in economics. The speculators take the risk out of the market. I won’t go into that here.

That’s the fear I have of the liberals taking over in the fall. Just look at the congress, house and senate. The leadership are tone deaf ignoramuses without a clue as to how economics, supply, demand and trading curves work. Pelosi, Reed and all the rest are just plain stupid.

Now in fairness, the republicans aren’t much better. I think we find really stupid people and then send them to Washington. There should be an economic literacy test given before you can take the oath of office to any political position.

Look at Maxine Waters. How dumb can you be and still breathe.

So, the market works, it actually works well. It’s laying a bear trap. I thought it would snap before this. But it will SNAP!
