Warmonger New York Times wants to Invade a Country that DIDN’T attack us.

I’m always amused how phony Liberals are.

Now a NYT columnist is in favor of invading Burma to force them to take aid.

I am compassionate, but a few days ago I said that this tragedy had the earmarks of reform all over it.  Forced compassion will not do anything.  What must happen now is for the people and sponsors of this country (like China) to rise up against and overthrow this evil government.

Only then will this be the last time this kind of tragedy can happen.  Remember the earthquake in 1976 in China. They wouldn’t receive aid then.  That was the beginning of faster and more aggressive reform going on to this day.

Let’s hope and pray the same thing happens in Burma.

Liberal Media back in time reporting before and During WWII

Listening to NPR this morning about the battle in Sadar City half in sympathy to the Mahdi Army. I started to think about what reportage would have been if the same press flunkies would have been in force back before and during WWII.

Bill Moyers interviews Adolph Hitler and pronounced him a decent compassionate human being.

Stories of Death Camps are chalked up to warmongering NEOCONS. Kieth Olberman has it on good authority that no death camps exist.

Demands for congressional hearings by Harry Reid after the story of George Patton shooting a mule to clear the road for troops. Katie Couric does a week long special series on the pain and suffering of those impacted by the troops moving thru the countryside. An hour long interview with the man who owned the mule with tear filled stories of how much they miss that mule is on in prime time.

Live on the scene reports from Dresden Germany after Bombing. Stories of looting and historical sites being destroyed by right wing bombing. News reporters also say people died as well.

The bravery of Hitler as he committed suicide along with Eva Braun is polled by Jack Cafferty on CNN.

French Resistance fighters are called Rebels by the press.

I suspect that if I had any imagination whatsoever i could come up with a couple dozen more. But, I’m convinced that we would have LOST the Second War If the Media had behaved as they do today.

Some dare call it treason.

I’m gonna miss Hillary Clinton

I mean, she put up a great fight. She made the case for her agenda as close as it was to Barak’s, pretty well.

She’s a tough ol bird and this was her last hurrah.

So, we got your basic Obama McCain match. Let’s assume McCain lives long enough to finish the campaign which is not a given in my book. He probably will beat Obama.

I mean, White crossover from conservative Dems, the home of Racism, will come to McCain.
Some Liberal disgusted with the Dems..
Hillary Disenfranchised.

Now, if McCain can just get Conservatives to vote for him he’d be in like Flynn. I’m not convinced that’s gonna happen any time soon. But, faced with the death of America as we knew it or McCain I guess we’ll choke down our oatmeal in November, put our extra duty nose clips on, and vote R. I said I will. I guess I will.

I’m just gonna miss the Hill. She’s been like that crazy girlfriend we all had once. Fun but not someone you’d wanna take home to momma.

McCain in O8 (if he lives that long) is my motto.

Then what if something happens and McCain takes a not so premature dirt nap, are we all gonna end up arguing about Huckabee, Gulianni, Thompson or Romney again?

What a bunch of dopes we are. McCain or Obama. We are sooooo Screwed.

The slippery slope, first ban smoking, then your guns

This is a peek into the mind of people who want to take away your guns.  They mean well.  They are just misguided.  The first is a letter from Saturday’s Chicago Tribune letter’s to the editor.  The second was right below it.  If you read them both you see what this debate looks like in Chicago.  So you don’t think this is isolated, what happens here creeps out to the rest of the country slowly.  I think our second amendment rights are on the endangered species list.

FIRST LETTER

Tobacco is legal. But it is also harmful. After compelling evidence showed the growing number of unintentional deaths and disease caused to nonsmokers by cigarette smoke, strict health laws were enacted in Chicago, which now severely restricts public use of tobacco.

So why aren’t more restrictive gun laws seen in the same way?

Unconstitutional?

Surely the Constitution guarantees a citizen’s right to light up a legal substance.

But the Constitution also guarantees life and liberty--or the right not to have cancer blown into your lungs by others.

When called upon to protect citizens from the harmful effects of modern innovations, our laws are meant to be equally innovative for the greater protection of all.

I applaud Mayor Richard M. Daley’s fist-pounding and frustration over the continued lack of understanding of this basic concept. Excessive cigarette smoke in our community kills people who do not smoke. Guns in our community kill people who do not own guns.

It’s time for owners’ rights to take a more measured, reasonable importance. Theirs is not a right that should supersede all others, particularly life.

//////////////////////////////////

SECOND LETTER

Then what?

Many people (and not just criminals and crazies) will never turn in their weapons.

How do we find all those guns?

We can’t just wait until a gun is used and then confiscate it.

Then it’s too late.

It’s easy to say we should get rid of guns.

But can we really do it?

Say we forbid all private ownership of guns.

And we don’t know who has guns or where they are kept.

Where does that leave us?

I’m afraid that the police must have the power to do the following:

* Set up roadblocks at random and search every car and its occupants.

* Board buses and trains at random and frisk everybody.

* Search houses and businesses at random.

* Cordon off public areas such as malls and frisk everybody.

In short, the police must be allowed to search any person and any property at any time, with no probable cause needed.

Are we ready to give the police such sweeping power?

And will anything less do the job?

If, like me, you don’t want to live under a government with such power, then face it:

We won’t ever rid of the guns.

Instead we will have to analyze our society to find out why we are so ready to kill each other and then figure out how to change ourselves. And that will be a difficult job.

It’s so much easier to just spout off about getting rid of guns.

Maybe I’ve watched too many Cop Shows - hookers dropping everywhere

The story of the DC madame found dead in Florida smells.  And one of her escorts earlier committed suicide.

I don’t think Columbo would fall for this one.  It’s all too convenient.

Wiretapping Jeremiah Wright’s Phone

Wiretapped Phone Call transcript between Rev Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama one week ago:

J Good Morning
B Hey Rev
J Barry my boy, hows it going
B Good but you got my butt in deep doo doo.
J Hows that?
B You know that God Damn America stuff
J Yea, what about it?
B Causing me all kinda trouble out here.  I might not be President if I don’t fix this
J What do you want to do>
B Here’s the plan.  I’ve already distanced myself from you in Philly.  You could act all ticked off that I sort of threw you under the bus.
J Well, I can’t take back all those things I said in sermons all those years.  The Republicans have tapes and CD’s of everything I ever said so they’ll hang that around my neck come November and get you unelected.
B OR, here’s the cool part, you could make some speaches, be all cranky, radical, over the top, combative, nutty and say things like you’re coming after me.  Way I figure it, you could come up with some wild conspirisy theories.  People would see that I’m the good cop and you’re the bad cop.  I’m the sane one and you’re the nutcase.  Heck you got that big house in the burbs now.  Life is good.  You don’t need this.  I think if we play our cards right we could get some sympathy votes for how mean you are to me.  I mean you could be downright abusive.  What do ya think.
J So basically you want me to take a dive for you.  Is that it?
B Yep, but think of it, when President Obama takes the oath of office next Jan you’ll be right there at my side.  Won’t it be sweet.  I’ll make you secretary of something or another.  Michelle and I can have you right there with us.  We’ll show em.
J.  Not bad, not bad at all.  OK, I’m in.  Let’s make it look like Hillary set this up.  Let’s get every Republican and Conservative Blogger in the nation to take after me.  In fact if Daily Kos and Huffington start to distance me from you we’ve got it cut.
B.  RIGHT ON
J.  I’ll make a few calls, this is going to be so much fun.  Today, Chicago, TOMORROW THE WORLD....BWAHHAHHAHHAHHA (Demonic evil laugh)

Of course this is all the mindstorm of ME, GENE.  But, could it be we have just been had by some really clever folks.

COULD BE!

Why High Oil Prices Won’t Stay High

When Crude Oil Hit 60 bucks a couple years ago I made the comment that every geologist in the world would be looking in his back yard to find new oil.  And they have.  I said that we’d see Oil Rigs in State parks.  We will.

At a hundred plus bucks a barrel they are gold rush crazy.

Course what goes up has to come down.  I see every day new doom and gloom.  Look here, Gasoline at 10, 20 bucks a gallon.  Oil at 250 a barrel.  Hogwash!

Even if we never came up with direct alternative substitutes (which tens of thousands of independent scientists are hoping to create and get on the market quickly), even if we never converted one ton of Coal to oil, Even if we never processes another grain of Oil Sand we have discovered more Oil than we can possibly burn for the next hundred years.

It’s not easy Oil.  There is no Peak Oil.  That concept is brought to you by the same fearmongers that brought you global warming caused by humans.  There IS peak EASY OIL.

The reality is in the last 24 months there has been HUGE ENORMOUS stashes of oil discoveries worldwide.

But to learn about this you have to do a little work.

Google the term OIL FIND and Pick ANY of the Following Countries or States and you will see.

This isn’t off of them, just the ones it took me 3 minutes to uncover:

Oil Finds

  • Brazil
  • Cuba
  • Dakota
  • Alaska
  • North Sea
  • Kenya
  • Sudan
  • Nigeria
  • China
  • Gulf of Mexico (non US)
  • Uganda
  • Sunni Iraq
  • Kurdistan
  • Ghana
  • Thailand
  • Cambodia
  • Vietnam
  • Norway
  • Indonesia
  • Australia
  • Belize
  • India
  • Tanzania
  • Canada
  • Angola
  • Libya

Here’s the critical issue in all this.  NONE OF THESE ARE BEING EXPLOITED NOW.  None are yet on line.  They will be, SOON.

All have yet to be developed.  All have yet to be accessed.  We don’t have peak oil, we have peak easy oil. Some will be harder than others. But, I trust that we will figure out how to do even that.

I’m guessing looking at this list you didn’t even know some of those countries were oil producers or had discovered oil in their own territories.

Worst Farm Bill in History About to be Passed.  STOP IT -STOP IT NOW

Is there power of the blog?  Can we not stop this abomination of a farm bill that is about to be passed.

It has huge subsidies for ethanol, farm support payments, disaster support payments driven by Conrad and Dorgan.

I know many of us that blog think we make a difference.  But this idiocy has to be stopped.  If we have the power to Get Harriet Miers stopped, immigration bill stopped, then do we have the power to get this bill trimmed back to reality?

I love President Bush’s national defense stands, I hate the way he spends money.

What do we in the Blogosphere need to do to stop this 5 year farm bill?

NOW!  The vote is on Friday NEXT.  Your tax dollars at waste. Again.

Another Scandal of the No Named Party

We have another Governor heading for Jail in IL. There is a special wing of the prison system where those who have been secretary of state, then governor are upon achieving office are immediately indited and upon leaving office sent to jail.

Since we GOPers in IL are in significant Minority, we thought George Ryan’s real name according to the newscasts was, Republican Governor George Ryan.  They always got that in.

Now, the worm has turned.  The Dem Gov is about to enter the process.

What party is he and all the people indited with him?  No one knows. It’s all a mystery.  A conundrum.

Oh, wait, one of Tony Rezco’s buddies, Stewart Lavinie IS a Republican.  A fact that is never missed by the local press.

This in the party of Obama.  iF YOU LIKE SLEAZY POLITICS, VOTE FOR OBAMA.

I love Illinois for many things. Politics is not the best thing we export.

Where are the equal rights lawyers when you need them?

I just looked at the top 23 NFL draft choices. Let’s see if the percentage of Blacks in the USA is about 20% that should mean there are.....

Well you can do the math.

In fact of the 23 top draft picks" 23 top draft picks, five, cinco, funf are of the non African American Persuasion. Proof, click here, and look at the photo gallery.

Racial Quotas, That’s whats needed. The NBA is even more racist. It’s like Jeremiah Wright put the whole thing together.

Now were did I put the Number of EOC? I wonder if they are open on Saturday afternoons? I’m sure they are being government employees.

This is a travesty and a set back to racial harmony. I gotta go, I got a call to make. I’m sure those lawyers at the EOC are unaware of this.

Sarah Palin of Alaska a Woman of Faith

McCain wouldn’t go wrong with Sarah as a VP.

She and her husband just had a new baby boy.  He’s a downs baby.  Sarah sent this email to friends who were offering condolences.

“Many people will express sympathy, but you don’t want or need that, because Trig will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this.” She wrote it in the voice of and signed it as “Trig’s Creator, Your Heavenly Father.”

You can read more about Sarah Palin and her faith here.

Doug Lier Question - What am I Supposed to do with all these COUGARS?

Cougar expert Doug Lier has some ‘splainen to do. How come we got cougars in Chicagoland? Yesterday they shot one here. It had been seen in various places. They are turning up all over the place. In Peoria. In Moline. In Wisconsin.
I got questions:
  • Is this because of the unhunted deer populations in the are, easy pickings and lots of cover in forest preserves?
  • Are they breeding, I mean if you have a tom and some momma cats and you got kittens, lots of kittens, is this that?
  • I have always thought they were pretty reclusive and nocturnal, not much danger to humans, is that changing?
  • I know there are plenty now in the Dakotas, Nebraska and Iowa, how far is this going to go?
  • There will be press driven paranoia over this, how dangerous is a 150 pound carnivore with sharp claws and teeth anyway?
  • Why did it take 20 rounds to down this animal?
  • Are all Chicago Cops such bad shots?
  • After the Cougar was down, the cops said they couldn’t tell the gender of the animal. HUH?
  • Where there’s smoke there’s fire, does this cougar kill mean there are lots of cougars or just a few?
  • Shouldn’t we be offing the easy prey, like kill a few hundred thousand field rats (Deer) that stand around and depredate everything in sight and provide food for cougars?
  • Who’s in charge of the decisions that are creating this cougarville environment?
  • Since it’s practically illegal to shoot a gun in Illinois (you can own one if it’s properly owned with a firearms owner card but you can’t shoot it anywhere) what should I do as an Illinois resident if a cougar takes up my back yard as it’s home? Do you recommend a slingshot to take on a cougar?
  • Should I be bringing Muffin and Skipper in from outside at night so they don’t become Cougar Lunch?
  • If it gets bad enough, do cougars make good house pets?
  • Are cougars good to eat? They eat cats in Korea why not cougars in the USA? Cougar Chops....MMMMM.
  • Does Cougar fir make a good coat? Will I Look Good in it?
  • Why are there no Cougars in Minnesota as far as I can tell, too many Democrats? Is it possible Cougars don’t like to eat Democrats? Is this a reason I should become a Democrat?
Doug?

You can never do just one thing fixing software or polygamy

This is about computer software and polygamous families.  Years ago when I was President of a computer software firm we were always making tweaks to the software.  Fix this, tweak that.

The problem is, you can never do just one thing.  If you fix this, that over there no longer works.

Everything you try to repair breaks something else.

The answer is, fix carefully and be sure than when you implement the fix you know what the consequence is.  Sometimes when I get the windows updates I have visions of Bill and assurance that this repair is just a little fix.  Then when the whole thing collapses in a heap the oops and Bills quick wit saves the day.  But I don’t have Bills quick wit.  It’s just some 19 year old kid in Redmond Washington who came up with this “Fix” and now it’s really broken.

So, pardon me Mr Gates If I don’t embrace every “Improvement” your folks make.  They are just like Bill.  Well intentioned and very quick.  But, quite human.

THIS HAS TO DO WITH POLYGAMY IN TEXAS

By now you have heard all the stories about raids, incest, mismatch marriages and many wives.  I won’t come down on the side of Polygamy.  But I am really questioning the heavy hand of the state who comes in an destroys families because child protective services knows better.
Interviews with Children of polygamous families from the fifties demonstrate the damage done to boys and girls permanently by the tearing of the family.  Yes, it’s not a family I would choose but how does the state have the fourth amendment crushing power to do what they did.

This really bothers me.  A Lot.

The mothers are starting to speak out.  This will have ripple effects.

You can never do just one thing.

How Bad do you WANT a Job

In this morning’s Chicago Tribune was a great story about a man who was let go after 25 years in corporate life.  He was also unemployable pretty much.  Over 50 you see.  No jobs.

So, he decided to do work no one else wanted to do.  He is a pooper scooper.  He picks up those piles your dog leaves all over your yard that you step in.  He charges for it of course.  He has a route doing this for people who find this work disgusting and distasteful.

And, he makes $75,000 per year doing it.

So, if you are un or under employed and would do ANYTHING for a Job, I have only one question.  Do you want it as bad as Ron Johnson the Poo be Gone man.

How bad do you want a job?
