Who is Entitled to Keep Wealth?

Virgina Congressman Jim Moran describes how our country has been extremely productive over the past seven years, and then explains why it is bad.

“...that’s the problem. [...] people who have wealth [are] entitled to keep it.  [...] It doesn’t work in the long run.”

To those of you who agree with this Congressman, I encourage you to lead by example.  Don’t keep your wealth.  After all, you aren’t entitled to keep it.  Share it… because in your mind, not sharing YOUR wealth is the problem.  I also encourage you to not purchase anything from corporations (to include Apple) to prevent them from earning money (and subsequently hiring people to work for them).  I also encourage you to liquidate all of your stocks, bonds, CDs, (you greedy, corporate fat cats) etc and share that wealth.

Hope Is Not A Method

“Hope is not a method.” - Common Military Saying

The above is a statement of pro activity.  If any Soldier were to tell me that he hoped what he was briefing was going to come to fruition, that would be unacceptable.  We in the Army do not have the luxury to ‘hope’ that things will end well.  Hope will get us killed.  Instead, we must plan and take action.  Hope is not a method.

As a leader I can never ‘hope’ that my Soldiers have the proper training.  I can never ‘hope’ that my Soldiers have the proper logistical supplies.  I can never ‘hope’ that my Soldiers will survive the next mission.  Hope is not a method; I live in the real world.

Qualifications

I am a combat veteran.  My country has decorated me for valorous actions in combat.  American men are alive because of me, and enemies have gone on to meet their maker because of me.

...all that, and 55 cents, will get me a cup of coffee from the machine.

...if you add millions of dollars in campaign funds, it still won’t qualify me to be the POTUS!  (but I could buy a lot of coffee)  Why?  Because being the president takes more than just being an awesome Soldier.

I really hate politics.  If you think back to Jr High, who is it that was elected?  It was probably the person deemed the ‘coolest.’  That was fine back then.  What did the Jr High President do?  Unfortunately, all of those people who voted for the ‘coolest’ kid got older.  NOTE: I did not say that those people grew up.  Those Jr High kids get old enough to vote for the ‘coolest’ presidential candidate.  Qualifications don’t matter.

From JunkYardBlog (Hat tip to Hood over at FIU)

I love Veterans (I R 1!) and I love Jesus way more than vets…  And although I may want (a younger) McCain in the next fighting position, and I may want Huck as the pastor or deacon of my church, it DOESN’T mean that I want either of them to be my President.

My name is Paulie B, and I hate this election more and more each day.

I can’t let it go… because it won’t let ME go

It’s getting close to a year, and Cimpy McHitler still haunts me.  I can’t sleep , I can’t focus on work, changed jobs since then… (I can, however, eat and drink my rear end off!)

”>

I know that I have crappy photo stuff (I only have ‘Paint’ that comes with windows), but I believe that you can see that the screen shot was taken today… and Sparkie’s “Who is ‘Cimpy McHitler’?” quote is still at the top of the recent comments when someone searches.  It’s just blowing my mind!  It’s surreal… it’s almost as if someone (Rob?) is TRYING to screw with my head.

Hasek or Campbell?

How could you not love this game?

I think this game was on 7 December.  The hit wasn’t overly impressive to me, but what was impressive was the way Gaborik takes off in flight.

That video was just a warm-up…  Here’s the real deal - Brian Campbell two seasons ago, and quite possibly the greatest hockey hits of all time.  It’s the best I’ve seen.
OPEN ICE DESTRUCTION!

The first announcer that you hear is Rick Jeanneret.  He’s the Buffalo announcer.  People usually love him or hate him.

Go Sabres!

Why I Love the Sabres

So if you’ve been watching the National Hockey League this year, you likely know that my Sabres have been hurting this season.  Where last season it only took them ten games to compile ten wins, this season it took them 21 games to compile ten wins… and that was after a four game winning streak (this evening bumped it to a five game winning streak and 11 total wins).

A lot of us fans were quite angry with the management after losing both captains (Briere and Drury).  My opinion is that we weren’t going to be able to keep Drury (he wanted to go to New York), so we should have put a fat contract in front of Briere.  Well, that’s in the past… and so are the bandwagon fans of last years amazing season.

But even though this season hasn’t been the most spectacular showing the HSBC arena has seen, I still love my Sabres.  Why? (Especially since I’ve moved further south and further away since last season.)  Well, other than being a loyal person, I love the Sabres because THEY CAN LAUGH AT THEMSELVES!

Check out this video of the Sabres taking a moment to have some fun off the ice:

If you got a good chuckle out of that video, check out the rest of the post for a video from last year.  This is just a fun team!

From an Expert in His Field: George S

From this site:

“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.”
- Attributed to General George Patton Jr

“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won’t.”
- General George Patton Jr

“A leader is a man who can adapt principles to circumstances.”
- General George S. Patton, Jr

There is only one tactical principle which is not subject to change. It is to use the means at hand to inflict the maximum amount of wound, death, and destruction on the enemy in the minimum amount of time.
- General George Patton Jr

It seems to me that we’ve forgotten this tactical principle that Patton was so passionate about. Everything now is non-lethal and precision. Patton kicked some serious rear-end. We need to listen to Patton. He was a winner. (more...)

Don’t Know Who to Vote For?

Then let this website decide for you:
Candidate Calculator
There are a list of issues, and for each issue you choose whether or not your support it or if you are unsure.  Then you rate that issue’s importance to you.

It said that I was an 88.89% match with Romney.

Today’s Motivational Video - The B-52

I haven’t posted a motivational video in some time, and in light of recent events, I thought that people should get some B-52 lovin’.  As far as aircraft, this isn’t as cool as the AH-64 or the A-10, but it’s still fun AND GETS THE JOB DONE.

mmmm… US military blowing schtuff up…

This video would have been better if the accompanying music was “Private Idaho.”  (Idaho is close enough for gov’met work.)

What Name Do You Use When Speaking to God?

Roman Catholic Bishop Wants Everyone to Call God ‘Allah’
A proposal by a Roman Catholic bishop in the Netherlands that people of all faiths refer to God as “Allah” is not sitting well with the Catholic community.

Tiny Muskens, an outgoing bishop who is retiring in a few weeks from the southern diocese of Breda, said God doesn’t care what he is called.

“Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn’t we all say that from now on we will name God Allah? ... What does God care what we call him? It is our problem,” Muskens told Dutch television.

What?!?! Can this Muskens guy be serious?

Ibrahim Hooper, a spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Washington, D.C.-based Islamic civil liberties and advocacy group, backs the idea as a way to help interfaith understanding.

“It reinforces the fact that Muslims, Christians and Jews all worship the same God,” Hooper told FOXNews.com. “I don’t think the name is as important as the belief in God and following God’s moral principles. I think that’s true for all faiths.”

Of course some Muslim guy is going to get behind this idea; it blinds others to who they are. They want non-Muslims to think that everything is the same. It would make their religion easier for others to accept as true. But my God isn’t the god that the Muslims pray to. If that were the case, then why wouldn’t Muslims call their god Yahweh or Jesus Christ…? Or the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost…? But the whole ‘there is no god but Allah’ thing doesn’t really match up with the Trinity.

Crazy stuff like this is what happens when post modernists and such fail to see the importance of language and communication. Words mean something.

“I think it will open up doors,” said Janaan Hashim, a spokeswoman for the group representing more than 400,000 Muslim Americans in the Chicago area. “Language is a man-made limitation. I think what God cares about is how we fulfill our purpose in life.”

But when my God says, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” then I do think that He would care if I started calling upon the name of Allah.

The Charleston

If I could do this, then I’d be hanging out at the club with all of you young folks… and I’d be stealing all of your girlfriends too.

Seriously.

An oldie, but a goodie.  Any of you SAers out there able to do this?

If You’re a Ranger…

The Sabres are up 2-0 in the best of seven Eastern Conference Semi-Finals!  They looked rough the first two periods last night, but came alive in the 3rd to defeat the NY Rangers 3-2.

Check out the highlights of the game with this link.  Make sure that you increase the video quality (see ‘video quality’ above the ‘screen’ ).  And if nothing else, look at the Zubrus’s beautiful open-ice check on Jaromir Jagr at the 1:25 mark.  It’s tough to fully appreciate that hit with the cameras switching, but if anyone can find some replays of that, please post them.  Poetry in motion.

Their next game is Sunday, 29 April 2007 at 2:00 pm on NBC.

Someone Please Make It Stop!!!

For the love of all that is good in this world, is there anything that can be done about ‘Cimpy McHitler?!’  I know it’s trivial, but it’s gnawing at my soul like the ‘Tell Tale Heart!’

It’s 19 days after the fact, and Sparkie’s comment is infiltrating my dreams!!! (Exageration for dramatic effect.)

Sorry that my screen shot isn’t the greatest.

Buzzword Bingo

I found this site through DimeBrothers.com

A little bored at the office?  Can’t seem to stay awake during meetings?  Then why don’t you play Buzzword Bingo!  Nothing will please your boss more than you yelling out “BINGO!” after he says “Go the Extra Mile.”

You can get randomized bingo cards from the first link.

Naked, Drunk and Bound

Talk about laughable!

Monday, March 12, 2007
JERUSALEM —  The Israeli ambassador to El Salvador has been recalled after he was found drunk, naked and bound in sexual bondage gear in his yard, an official said Monday.

Tsuriel Raphael has been removed from his post and the Foreign Ministry has begun searching for a replacement, said spokeswoman Zehavit Ben-Hillel.

Two weeks ago, El Salvador police found Raphael naked outside his residence, tied up, gagged and drunk, Israeli media reported. He was wearing several sex toys at the time, the media said. After he was untied, Raphael told police he was the ambassador of Israel, the reports said.

The British Broadcasting Corp. reported that he could identify himself to police only after a rubber ball had been removed from his mouth.

I have to give Israel credit for firing the guy.  The news story states that he did nothing illegal, but being naked, drunk, and bound in your front yard lacks the professionalism that should be associated with that office.
