Happy Birthday US Navy!!!!!!!!!

Since tomorrow, 13 October is the United State’s Navy’s 233rd birthday, To all Shipmates past and present, Navy Day Greetings to all.
And to Randall Bettig and Stan Ciak originally from Grand Forks and Company 73-307 RTC/San Diego, how have your lives gone after we separated following that first cruise aboard Independence?
I am the little guy originally from Havre, Montana. And now I am a transplanted Jayhawk.

Sarah Palin at Rangers/Flyers Game as Reported by Yahoo

I checked the NHL scores this morning to see how my Canadiens did. 6-1 over the Leafs. Bleu, Blanc et Rouge!!!!!!!!!!
But on the recap of the Rangers-Flyers game in which Sarah Palin dropped the ceremonial first puck, the only positive thing said came from Scott Gomez of the Rangers. He is from Alaska and appreciated the moment from his home states Governor. Mr. Richards of the Flyers was yeah, OK, whatever.
Considering it was not as large of a political gesture that the out there leftards make of it. The Governor is a Hockey Mom. My wife was a Hockey Mom. They are a unique and amazing group. Trust me. In ND you would know what a Hockey Mom is and does. I prefer to believe that the event was a Hockey Mom’s dream come true. And little Piper in a child’s Flyers sweater just topped it off. I am glad she tried to keep it in perspective for the purity of the game.

Controversy over Religious Beards

I saw this on Drudge.
It seems that firefighters in DC who wear beards because of religious beliefs are in a snit. The DC Fire Department has a regulation against facial hair. This includes Christians, Jews and Muslims. Since this type of job requires the individual to wear an Oxeygen Breathing Apparatus of some type, I can accept it.
I was in the Navy when then CNO Admiral Elmo Zumwalt allowed beards, as acknowledgement of sea-faring tradition. Execptions were made for those assigned to repair/fire parties that wore the OBA. It did not get a complete seal over a beard. This is a safety policy. Fires give of dangerous fumes and smoke. I guess they want to be casualties, eventually.
Any of you Old Sea Dogs out there chip in.

Warning! Obama Warning!

If he wins. We are in trouble. The man(used loosely) has no values, character or spine. When your heroes are jimmy the dhimmi and bill ayers. Stand by.
I may take the left approach and say that he is not my president. Were I on active service and he won, I would leave active service. I know you are supposed to serve the office and not the man. But I had that happen once already, jimmy the dhimmi.
To be blunt, barack obama is not qualified or good enough to kiss my salt encrusted, buckskin a**!!!!!!!!!!

Memorial Day

When you see the elderly gentleman in a wheel chair with his American Legion/VFW/DAV cap on stop and shake his hand and thank him. He misses his buddies from long past. Maybe he won’t be in a whell chair but still standing proud. Thank him. Tell him you won’t forget.

Value

Now for some fun.
This Old Retired Petty Officer has done more for this country in a single day than either clinton or obama have done collectively in their entire lives. For one reason,I took the oath of enlistment seriously. That being said, when on active service, a service member does not serve the man but the Office. This was imparted to me by an old crusty Chief Petty Officer. As I have been retired from active service for almost 15 years, I can take liberties as it were. For one, I do not pop tall for just any member of the Congress. I don’t work for them anymore. The Congress ceased being in my chain of command on 30 September 1993. I have done a pretty good job of taking care of myself and my family since then.  So value wise, I am better.
