Ahmadinejad says West failed in Iran nuclear crisis

Isn’t he right?

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday the West has failed to break Iran’s will in the nuclear standoff, days after world powers presented Tehran with a new offer aimed at ending the crisis.

“In the nuclear issue, the bullying powers have used up all their capabilities but could not break the will of the Iranian nation,” Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by state television.

World powers—Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States—on Saturday offered Tehran a new package of technological and economic incentives in exchange for suspending uranium enrichment activities.

The West fears the process might be used to make an atomic bomb although Iran insists it only wants to generate nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

Ahmadinejad’s comments were his first statement on the nuclear crisis since the offer was presented but it was not clear if they represented a reaction to the proposal.

Despite Murtha pronouncing all of these Marines guilty of murder, it appears that in the face of so many acquitals, the judge may throw out the whole damn thing.

A military judge who has heard days of arguments over motions in the case against a Marine officer charged criminally after U.S. Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., publicly accused service members of being murderers abruptly has changed a hearing that had been scheduled for three days to one hour.

The confirmation comes from the Thomas More Law Center, which is defending Lt. Col Jeffrey Chessani.

Officials with the law center today said Col. Steven Folson, the military judge assigned to the case, “informed counsel that the hearing in the Chessani case, originally scheduled for three days, June 16-18, has been changed to only one hour on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 9 a.m. PST.

“Col. Folsom indicated that the only business he will address is his ruling on the defense motion to dismiss Lt. Col. Jeffery Chessani’s case because of unlawful command influence,” the law center said.

It was just days earlier when WND reported that a military jury of seven officers had acquitted Marine 1st Lt. Andrew Grayson of all charges stemming from the same incident.

PORTLAND, Ore. - The exclusion of the Pledge of Allegiance from a southwest Portland elementary school’s ceremony has proved upsetting for a local mom.

Departing fifth-graders at Capitol Hill Elementary usually open their promotion ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance - but not this year.

“I was sad,” said parent Briana Reese. “The flag was sitting up there, you know. Two of the kids went up and they said ‘Everybody rise,’ and we rose, and I thought for just a second ‘Oh yeah, we’re going to put our hands on our hearts and we’re going to salute the flag’ - but no.”

Reese had heard that the principal planned to take the pledge out of the ceremony.

“I think that’s what they should be doing - telling kids you should be pledging your allegiance to this country,” Reese said. “This is a great country. You’re here for a reason.”

The pledge was instead replaced with a singing version of the preamble to the Constitution.

Secrecy over birth certificate, demand for ‘natural-born’ citizenship cited

This probably won’t hold up over time in my opinion, but it would be a fascinating development to watch unfold:

Bloggers are raising questions about Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s qualifications to be U.S. president, because of the secrecy over his birth certificate and the requirement presidents be “natural-born” U.S. citizens.

Jim Geraghty, reporting on the Campaign Spot, a National Review blog, cited the “unlikely” but still circulating rumor that Obama was born not within the United States, but elsewhere, possibly Kenya.

Geraghty defined the concerns most clearly, stating: “If Obama were born outside the United States, one could argue that he would not meet the legal definition of natural-born citizen … because U.S. law at the time of his birth required his natural-born parent (his mother) to have resided in the United States for ‘10 years, at least [f]ive of which had to be after the age of 16.’”

He then points out Ann Dunham, Obama’s mother, was 18 when Obama was born “so she wouldn’t have met the requirement of five years after the age of 16.”

Geraghty continues: “ (Interestingly, apparently there isn’t much paperwork on Obama’s parents’ marriage. ‘Obama: From Promise to Power,’ page. 27: ‘Obama later confessed that he never searched for the government documents on the marriage, although Madelyn (Obama’s maternal grandmother) insisted they were legally married.’ Also note that Obama’s father apparently was not legally divorced from his first wife back in Kenya at the time, a point of contention that ultimately led to their separation.)”

Government to pastor: Renounce your faith!

Yes, this is next door, a purely socialist state, wherein any public expression of any condemnation of sin, in the puplit, via the internet or other means of communication normally used for expressions of free political speech is a ‘hate crime,’ and part of the punishment can be an order for Christians or other people of faith to either publicly renounce their faith of suffer severe criminal penalties.

A Canadian human rights tribunal ordered a Christian pastor to renounce his faith and never again express moral opposition to homosexuality, according to a new report.

In a decision dated May 30 in the penalty phase of the quasi-judicial proceedings run by the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, evangelical pastor Stephen Boisson was banned from expressing his biblical perspective of homosexuality and ordered to pay $5,000 for “damages for pain and suffering” as well as apologize to the activist who complained of being hurt.

According to a report from Pete Vere at the Catholic Exchange, the penalty could foreshadow the possible fate of the Rev. Alphonse de Valk, who also cited the biblical perspective on homosexuality in the nation’s debate over same-sex “marriage” and now faces HRC charges.

Boisson wrote a letter to the editor of his local Red Deer, Alberta, newspaper in 2002 denouncing the advance of homosexual activism as “wicked” and stating: “Children as young as five and six years of age are being subjected to psychologically and physiologically damaging pro-homosexual literature and guidance in the public school system; all under the fraudulent guise of equal rights.”

This radical turn against Christianity was predicted several years ago as the inevitable result of hate crimes laws. It is happening in Europe, now in Canada and I assure you that it will become a reality here in the next few years. A socialist state, like the one Obama and most Democrats are pursuing, MUST kill all faith - the opiate of the masses, it must criminalize faith in private and public; and many even here, will in the near future, suffer long prison sentences for a failure to deny their faith, they will not be able to get jobs or any public assistance of any kind. Christianity is a crime in and of itself!

While Rob and others may prefer a wholly secular state here, the fact is that either Freedom of Religious worship and Freedom of speech is a reality for every citizen, or no one any longer can depend upon any of these rights at all.

Daddy’s Poem

Her hair was up in a pony tail, her favorite dress tied with a bow. Today was Daddy’s Day at school, and she couldn’t wait to go. But her mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home.

Why the kids might not understand, if she went to school alone. But she was not afraid; she knew just what to say. What to tell her classmates of why he wasn’t there today. But still her mother worried, for her to face this day alone. And that was why once again, she tried to keep her daughter home. But the little girl went to school eager to tell them all about a dad she never sees a dad who never calls.

There were daddies along the wall in back, for everyone to meet. Children squirming impatiently, anxious in their seats One by one the teacher called a student from the class to introduce their daddy, as seconds slowly passed. At last the teacher called her name, every child turned to stare.

Each of them was searching, a man who wasn’t there. ‘Where’s her daddy At?’ She heard a boy call out. ‘She probably doesn’t have one,’ another student dared to shout. And from somewhere near the back, she heard a daddy say, ‘Looks like another deadbeat dad, too busy to waste his day.’ The words did not offend her, as she smiled up at her Mom, and looked back at her teacher, who told her to go on and with hands behind her Back, slowly she began to speak. Islam-promoting principal defied order to protect kids
Students required to attend CAIR indoctrination event.

A public school principal in Texas who arranged for an Islamic instruction presentation for students by an organization whose leaders have been linked to terror groups apparently arranged for that indoctrination after being told not to by her district’s superintendent, parents have told WND.

The issue developed this week when public school students at Friendswood Junior High in the Houston area were herded into an assembly scheduled by Principal Robin Lowe that suddenly replaced a scheduled physical education class, according to reports.

There, two women from the Houston division of the Council on American-Islamic Relations instructed students that Adam, Noah and Jesus are prophets, announced “there is one god, his name is Allah,” taught the five pillars of Islam, told students how to pray five times a day, and instructed what Islamic religious rules require for dress.

Pastor Dave Welch, spokesman for the Houston Area Pastor Council, confirmed the indoctrination had taken place and called it “unacceptable.”

“The failure of the principal of Friendswood Junior High to respect simple procedures requiring parental notification for such a potentially controversial subject, to not only approve but participate personally in a religious indoctrination session led by representatives of a group with well-known links to terrorist organizations and her cavalier response when confronted, raises serious questions about her fitness to serve in that role,” the pastors’ organization said in a statement.

A parent, whose name was withheld, reported the presentation was 30 to 40 minutes long and handled by Muslims from CAIR, which, as WND has reported, is a spinoff of the defunct Islamic Association for Palestine, launched by Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook and former university professor Sami al-Arian, who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide services to Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

School administrators across this country are requiring Islamic sensitivity training by conducting seminars in just this manner, which is a one-sided effort to recruit children to Islam and denigrate other faiths. They do the same thing with homosexuality. But, if you even mention the Christian God in our schools, it is a freaking federal offense.

Sadly, this Marine burned beyond recognition died this spring. It was another skin graft surgey and everyone was shocked and saddened when he died. This story below and on the link provided has the full story.

IRAQ: Marine refuses to testify against ‘brother.’

A Marine combat veteran from Iraq has been thrown into federal jail after refusing to testify against his former squad leader before a grand jury in Los Angeles.

Although granted immunity, Sgt. Jermaine A. Nelson, 26, refused Wednesday to testify against former Marine Sgt. Jose Luis Nazario (above, without briefcase) in a case involving the battle in Fallouja in late 2004.

Nelson’s attorney, Joseph Low, a former Marine, said that Nelson fell to his knees and began to pray as U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson warned that he would be held in contempt and jailed if he refused to testify.

Low said that Nelson will not testify against Nazario because Nazario saved his life on numerous occasions in Iraq.

“He believes in God, country and Corps, and that he is doing the right thing by not testifying against his brother Marine,” Low said after spending several hours with Nelson today at the federal jail in Los Angeles. “His view is that if he has to suffer because of this, so be it.”

Nelson and Nazario have been charged with killing unarmed prisoners during the battle in Fallouja rather than take time to process them according to Geneva Convention rules. Court documents say the Marines killed the prisoners after getting a desperate call for help from other Marines pinned down in a firefight.

Under federal rules, a witness who has been given immunity loses his or her 5th Amendment right not to testify. A balky witness can be kept in jail until the grand jury expires, which could be months.

Nazario is charged in federal court in Riverside, Nelson in the military system at Camp Pendleton. Low said Anderson has set a hearing for next week to see if several days in jail can convince Nelson to testify.

“It can’t,” Low said.

This is so different from our concept of honor today, which is every man for themselves, dog eat dog, screw your friends to save your own butt. A real man, a Marine would rather suffer jail and a dishonorable discharge than turn on a fellow Marine.

Virtually no here that has not served in war will be ale to understand this, but on Memorial Day I will also remember what it is to stand back to back with another Marine in a tough fight!

Congresswoman threatens to nationalize oil industry

In a grilling of oil executives by a House panel yesterday, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., threatened to nationalize the industry if it didn’t do something about the rising prices at the pump.

A report by Fox News, captured in a clip posted on YouTube.com, showed Waters challenging the president of Shell Oil, John Hofmeister, to guarantee the prices consumers pay will go down if the oil companies are allowed to drill wherever they want off of U.S. shores.

Waters responded, in part, “And guess what this liberal would be all about. This liberal will be about socializing … uh, um. …”

The congresswoman paused to collect her thoughts.

“Would be about, basically, taking over, and the government running all of your companies. …”

Madame Hillary has spoken in the past of controlling oil industry profits. Obama sees the oil industry as the enemy, not OPEC and certainly not Congress.

What happens if gas prices hit $5.00 or more per gallon, will enough Americans see the Waters “Chavez Legislation” of the federal government taking control of this key industry as a good idea? I wonder!

Ted Kennedy has made clear to confidants that when his time is up, he wants his Senate seat to stay in the family - with his wife, Vicki.

Multiple sources in Massachusetts with close ties to the liberal lion say his wife of 16 years has long been his choice to continue carrying the family flame in the Senate. Kennedy won the seat in 1962; his brother John held it from 1953 to 1960.

“There’s no question that he’d like Vicki to continue in his seat,” said one Massachusetts Democrat with ties to the Camelot clan who spoke to Kennedy recently, before his health crisis.

“She’s smart, and smart politically.”

The 54-year-old Victoria Reggie Kennedy, a former hotshot Washington lawyer, is a Louisiana native and the daughter of a politically active judge.

She was hailed for holding the family together when John F. Kennedy Jr. was killed in a plane crash in 1999.

By favoring his wife, Kennedy, 76, is bypassing his late brother Robert Kennedy’s eldest son, Joe, a former congressman.

That is typical, these people, professional, career politicians (mostly Democrats) view themselves as the ruling elite (class) and no one not directly related to them should be in line of royal succession. Plus, their seats of power are not really elective in nature, but appointive, by them or their toadys, their servant underclass.

The really sad thing is that the governor and the voters in Kennedy’s state will bow to his royal wishes, as they feel such people deserve to name their heirs to office. When he dies or is too sick to serve, the song will be, “The king is dead, long live his heir and new king, hail the Kenndy Royal family.

Think about it, this is not a fantasy, these people really think they are thus deserving to rule over America by divine right!
