The global Muslim population stands at 1.57 billion, meaning that nearly 1 in 4 people in the world practice Islam, a landmark study has claimed.

The Pew Forum report also revealed that Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon - or North and South America combined.

It claimed that about five per cent of Europe’s population practises Islam - and that there are more Muslims living in Asia than in the Middle East.

Until now, experts have largely been guessing at the precise number of Muslims in the world, with estimates from one billion to 1.8 billion.

But the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life report, released today, finally pinpoints the number of those practicing the world’s second largest religion, behind Christianity.

The three-year-long project also provided some surprising statistics. For instance, Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon, China has more Muslims than Syria, Russia has more Muslims than Jordan and Libya combined, and Ethiopia has nearly as many Muslims as Afghanistan.

’This whole idea that Muslims are Arabs and Arabs are Muslims is really just obliterated by this report,’ said Amaney Jamal, an assistant professor of politics at Princeton University who reviewed an advance copy.

The report provides further evidence that while the heart of Islam might beat in the Middle East, its greatest numbers lie in Asia: More than 60 per cent of the world’s Muslims live in Asia.

It should alarm every non-Muslim that this aggressive, violence based religion dedicated to forced conversion of the world to Islam is now at 25% of the world’s population. In those nations wherein they gain enough converts, they have been successful in creating fear in those governments and thus policies directed at appeasing Islam to avoid violence. Increasingly this includes separate justice systems for Muslims.

There are now about 4 million Muslims in the United States, our prisons are being used to recruit and brainwash convicts of color to join their ranks. They are not afraid of sending U.S. Muslims to terror sponsoring Islamic states for training in terrorism.

We ignore the growth of Islam to our own peril, it is a social-religious cancer that will destroy us all unless we wake up to the threat.

Atheists recruited to be part of a lawsuit that is trying to rid government
ceremonies such as the inauguration of a president of any invocation or other prayer have claimed they are made physically ill by prayer.

The lawsuit was filed before President Obama’s inauguration and subsequently was dismissed at the district court level. Briefs now are being submitted to the appeals court in plaintiffs’ hopes the case will be reopened.

“I felt a temporary state of disconnection when these religious statements and prayers were made during the inauguration,” wrote another paintiff, according to an appendix of information submitted with the plaintiffs’ recent arguments in the case.

”All the prayers made me feel excluded from the political process and a second-class citizen,” wrote another. “But, when Chief Justice Roberts asked the president to say, ‘So help me God,’ I felt threatened and sick to my stomach.”

“The First Amendment cannot be divorced from common sense,” added Brad Dacus, president of PJI. “While atheists, humanists and freethinkers are a tiny minority in America, they are free to express and practice their lack of faith as they please.

“That does not mean,” he continued, “however, that the vast majority of God-fearing citizens and public officials must be silenced in order to appease them.”

In our brave new world every minority, no matter how small, have a right to silence the majority and force the majority to accommodate their views. Despite public prayers at government sponsored events being accepted since before the Constitution until 1962; since then we are now expected to turn away from that history and the expressed approval by the founders of our nation and every president, because a handful of atheists say so!

I doubt they will get their way at SCOTUS, but I expect the appeals courts to agree that such religious speech is unconstitutional and should be banned.

Since the Sixties, the pill made the sexual revolution possible, it made it possible to be as promiscuous as anyone wanted to be without fear of pregnancy. But, that medical marvel that prevented unwanted pregnancy had unintended consequences that, I believe, are not good for society.

The Pill may have changed women’s taste in men, according to a study.

Scientists say the hormones in the oral contraceptive suppress a woman’s interest in masculine men and make boyish men more attractive. Although the change occurs for just a few days each month, it may have been highly influential since use of the Pill began more than 40 years ago.

Dr Alexandra Alvergne, of the University of Sheffield, says the Pill could also be altering the way women pick their mates and could have long-term implications for society.

‘There are many obvious benefits of the Pill for women, but there is also the possibility that the Pill has psychological side-effects that we are only just discovering,’ she said. ‘We need further studies to find out what these are.’

The links between the Pill and sexual preferences are highlighted in a paper in the journal Trends in Ecology and Evolution.

On days when women are not fertile, their tastes swing towards more feminine, boyish faces and more caring personalities, researchers have shown.

However, if women are taking the Pill they no longer have fertile days.

That means they no longer experience the hormonal changes that make them more attracted to masculine men and those with dissimilar genetic make-up.

‘The ultimate outstanding evolutionary question concerns whether the use of oral contraceptives when making mating decisions can have long-term consequences on the ability of couples to reproduce.’ An increasing number of studies suggest that the Pill is likely to have an impact on human mating decisions and subsequent reproduction.

‘If this is the case, Pill use will have implications for both current and future generations, and we hope that our review will stimulate further research on this question,’ said Dr Lumma.

The changes caused by the pill may represent the ultimate feminization of society, a future unisexual human race. What is not known is why men increasingly are attracted to masculine appearing women.

Women have long wanted men to act more like them, be more feminine in their interactions with women, now because of the pill they even want them to look more feminine, baby faced, hairless, manicured and in every way more feminine. The relationship between President Barack Obama and the commander of Nato forces in Afghanistan has been put under severe strain by Gen Stanley McChrystal’s comments on strategy for the war.

He told the Institute of International and Strategic Studies that the formula, which is favored by Vice-President Joe Biden, would lead to “Chaos-istan”.

When asked whether he would support it, he said: “The short answer is: No.”

He went on to say: “Waiting does not prolong a favorable outcome. This effort will not remain winnable indefinitely, and nor will public support.”

The remarks have been seen by some in the Obama administration as a barbed reference to the slow pace of debate within the White House.

The next day he was summoned to an awkward 25-minute face-to-face meeting on board Air Force One on the tarmac in Copenhagen, where the president had arrived to tout Chicago’s unsuccessful Olympic bid.

In an apparent rebuke to the commander, Robert Gates, the Defence Secretary, said: “It is imperative that all of us taking part in these deliberations, civilians and military alike, provide our best advice to the president, candidly but privately.”

When asked on CNN about the commander’s public lobbying for more troops, Gen Jim Jones, national security adviser, said:

“Ideally, it’s better for military advice to come up through the chain of command.”

Some commentators regarded the general’s London comments as verging on insubordination.

Bruce Ackerman, an expert on constitutional law at Yale University, said in the Washington Post: “As commanding general, McChrystal has no business making such public pronouncements.”

Actually, I do not fault Obama for being contemplative over the decision to commit more troops. He has a few weeks before making a decision without adversely impacting the war.

I believe in the chain-of-command and despite times in the past when generals have spoken out publicly, I believe that if McChrystal feels the CIC is making a mistake that will cost lives and/or the war, if he cannot get the right answers privately, he should get out of uniform before going public.

I have no respect for Gates or any of the anti-military types in the Obama Administration; and the idea of Mahdi Obama as CIC makes me sick; but, if we do not have order within the military we will not have an effective military at all. Sorry to the conservatives out there, but I think McChrystal, like Patton and others, needed to be slapped down for trying to force his military plans at the expense of decency and order within the ranks.

Oh, he is right about the needed troops and getting a decision soon!

”Gay” sex is morally good and is as “wonderful” as heterosexual relations, according to Chai Feldblum, President Obama’s nominee to become commissioner for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

”Gay sex is morally good,” she said. “Now you may think that might be a little crazy to go out there and say gay sex is good. But think a second. Society definitely believes that heterosexual sex is good. Right. Heterosexual sex within a certain framework – marriage – I mean, you can’t get more dewy-eyed and romantic in this society about how wonderful that is.”

Continued Feldblum: “If you’re not being cynical for the moment, I think that does reflect a correct understanding that sex is often a basic building block for intimacy and that intimacy and connections within couples and within families are integral building blocks for a healthy society.”

Feldblum is an outspoken homosexual rights activist and Georgetown law professor. Obama two weeks ago announced his intent to nominate Feldblum for commissioner of the EEOC. Feldblum previously served as legislative counsel to the AIDS Project of the American Civil Liberties Union and clerked for Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun, who famously authored the controversial Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion.

Feldblum is not shy about her ideas for “revolutionizing” America’s workplace and the country’s social mores.

Is it in the best interest of America for public (federal) appointees to advocate for changing social mores and thereby the American workplace? Obama has appointed many people that are out-and -out social revolutionaries, on a mission to change America to reflect their personal moral positions.

Feldblum takes an long time argument on behalf of traditional families, as being building blocks for a healthy society, and then she perverts that truth to include people engaging in abnormal sexual relations. The problem is, homosexuals are not and can never be healthy families and thus never building blocks of a healthy society.

Homosexuality is a promiscuous lifestyle choice, most such people having dozens to hundreds of sexual partners in a lifetime, representing temporary, partial family units that last until the sex gets old and then another and another and another, never providing stable family units for the children involved. They cannot provide the balance of male and female parental role models to teach them how to live according to the peculiar needs of their own gender. More often than not the children are exposed to many homosexual predators coming into and then leaving the family, and that has resulted in a great percentage of children experimenting in both homosexuality and heterosexuality and in that they have been ill served by not having proper parental role models.

People are leaving this state, my home state, at record numbers, businesses bailing out every day. A school, system that was already #47 out of 50, has made drastic cuts in education in billions of dollars. Unemployment here is at a record pace, and agriculture is failing. We are large enough economically to be a member of G8 and we are going bankrupt.

Their solution? Higher taxes, IOU’s, big lay-offs of state employees, a “green” business plan for the future and more of the disastrous liberal social engineering programs that have driven us into the poor house. WASHINGTON (AP)—Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan predicted on Sunday that the jobless rate will pass 10 percent and stay there for a while, and a second stimulus plan is not needed now.

He spoke favorably of extending unemployment benefits and tax credits for health insurance, options the Obama administration is considering for helping people laid off during the recession. With more than 15 million people out of work, unemployment reached 9.8 percent in September, the highest rate in 26 years.

“Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., said an energy bill promoted by Democrats could serve as a jobs stimulus because it focuses on using venture capital to fund “clean energy” jobs.”

Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., said Democrats would best help the economy by supporting targeted tax relief and dropping “job killers” such as the proposed cap-and-trade approach to climate change and a health care bill that he said would raise taxes on small businesses.

It is my belief that like California, the problem lies in our attitudes towards business that are killing jobs and that as the debt grows that alone will kill economic growth and will result in a great percentage of these jobs never coming back at all.

Virtually everything Obama and the Demoncrats are doing is counterproductive to job growth and just wait until tax increases hit everyone along with health insurance mandates and I think it will take several decades, if we get off this current treadmill now, for the economy to ever start recovering to the levels of the past 2+ decades.

Jennings should have to go! According to a London Telegraph report, his ferocity may be overcompensation … for his own Jewish roots.

Examining a photo of the Iranian president holding aloft his identity card during the nation’s 2008 elections, the newspaper discovered Ahmadinejad’s original family name – prior to their conversion to Islam – was Sabourjian, a Jewish name meaning “cloth weaver.”

Ahmadinejad has not denied that his name was changed when his family moved to Tehran in the 1950s, but he has also never confirmed what that original name was.

A note on his identification papers, when magnified from the photo, however, suggests the man from Aradan, Iran, carried a common Jewish name from the region of his birth. “Sabourjian,” the Telegraph reports, is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran’s Ministry of the Interior.

What? If it is illegal for people of the same gender to get or be married in Texas, how can they dissolve a marriage they do not recognize? It is a legal nightmare for the people of the U.S., the people will be forced to recognize by law that which they voted not to recognize by law.

Although the case is far from settled, and the state’s constitutional ban on gay marriage is a long way from being thrown out, Dallas state District Judge Tena Callahan’s ruling says the state prohibition of same-sex marriage violates the federal constitutional right to equal protection.

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott had intervened in the two men’s divorce case, arguing that because a gay marriage isn’t recognized in Texas, a Texas court can’t dissolve one through divorce.

Callahan, a Democrat, denied the attorney general’s intervention and said her court “has jurisdiction to hear a suit for divorce filed by persons legally married in another jurisdiction.”

“This is huge news. We’re ecstatic,” said Dallas attorney Peter Schulte, who represents the man who filed the divorce. The man, identified in court documents as J.B., asked that he and his former partner not be identified.

Schulte said that the ruling was a surprise and that he hoped to have a divorce order for the judge to sign in the “next few weeks.”

In a prepared statement, Abbott said he would appeal the ruling “to defend the traditional definition of marriage that was approved by Texas voters.”

This is why DOMA is so critical, I have always said that once gay marriage is allowed in one state, using the 14th Amendment, gay marriage can be forced on other states. If Mr & Mr John Smith are married in Connecticut and move to Texas, there is no way without DOMA in place that Texas can avoid recognizing that false marriage in some way and thus while the judge is absolutely wrong that prohibiting Gay Marriage is Unconstitutional, under the equal protection clause, once gay marriage is legal somewhere in the U.S., it will have to be recognized in those states passing laws defining marriage as only being between one man to on woman.

Divorcing those couples is a back door and we know gays love the back door, way to force all states to recognize gay marriage as a right. It is also still true that the people still oppose gay marriage, have voted in I believe 38 states to outlaw it and yet the liberal courts will force it down our throats (pun intended).

Parenthetically: I believe the same equal protection conundrum would apply to the legalization of drugs, forcing states not wanting it to accept it as a federal right!

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com)—A coalition of mainline Protestant churches have authored a letter to members of Congress asking them to make certain the health care bills they are considering contain taxpayer funding for abortions. The letter comes from a group of churches that have long advocated the pro-abortion position.

Under the umbrella of the Religious Institute, the church denominations and more than 1,100 pastors and church staff from the denominations endorsed the letter.

The letter calls abortion a “morally justifiable decision” and opposed any amendments to the House and Senate bills, which current contain massive abortion funding, to strike that taxpayer-financing.

“We affirm women as moral agents who have the capacity, right and responsibility to make the decision as to whether or not abortion is justified in their specific circumstances,” the letter says.

Garrison Keillor, the “Lake Wobegon” author and National Public Radio icon, is offering a solution to a couple of the nation’s problems with one swoop: Give members of the GOP “aspirin and hand sanitizer” but if they have more complicated health issues, let them die.

In his Chicago Tribune column, Keillor wrote, “One starts to wonder if the country wouldn’t be better off without them and if Republicans should be cut out of the health-care system entirely and simply provided with aspirin and hand sanitizer.”

He continued, “Thirty-two percent of the population identifies with the GOP, and if we cut off health care to them, we could probably pay off the deficit in short order.”

This follows the asinine charge by U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., that Republicans’ health care plan for the sick is to “die quickly.”

NORTHERN WEST BANK – Training received at current American-run courses for Palestinian militia men will likely be utilized in the not too distant future to kill Israelis, U.S.-trained Palestinian gunmen told WND in an exclusive, in-person interview this week.

WND met seven members of the Palestinian Authority security forces who recently received training at U.S.-run bases as part of a stated effort to reform the PA’s militias. All seven of the interview subjects formerly were leaders of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terrorist group; some are suspected of still being involved with Brigades activities. They were all granted amnesty by Israel as part of a gesture to bolster PA President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah organization against Hamas.

The past two years, the U.S. stepped up its efforts at training the PA, running more advanced courses guided by Dayton, who in 2007 initiated an advanced program for Palestinian police that trains 500 to 600 cadets at a time at the American bases.

The U.S. currently operates training bases for the PA police and other militias, such as Force 17 and the Preventative Security Services in the West Bank city of Jericho and also at U.S.-operated bases in the Jordanian village of Giftlik.

Historically, many members of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades terrorist organization have served openly in the various PA militias, including in top positions. Starting in 2007, then-Prime Minister Ehud Olmert granted pardons for hundreds of Brigades members who were then folded into the PA’s various militias full-time.

NEW YORK (AP)—Despite the title of his new movie, Michael Moore really hates capitalism. He says it’s a scheme for businesses to profit at the expense of the little guy.

The provocateur filmmaker is campaigning for an end to what he says is the “evil” in our economic system and a return to the days when our lives weren’t so defined by money. It’s an ambitious theme, but some of his arguments in “Capitalism: A Love Story” fall apart on closer inspection.

It’s pure theater when Moore arrives in an armored bank truck at the headquarters of Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Holding a white bag with a big dollar sign on it, he tells a security guard he is there to collect the $10 billion in taxpayers’ funds that went to the investment bank. He doesn’t get past the front door.

THE FACTS: Three months after that scene was shot, Goldman Sachs was one of 10 large banks that repaid in June some $68 billion they received from the $700 billion Troubled Assets Relief Program. Since then other large financial companies have repaid funds, too, including Chrysler Financial and American Express Co.

MOORE’S RESPONSE: “Let’s be clear on this. We’re not talking about the majority of people who took the money ... not even 10 percent of the $700 billion has been returned.”

Of course I am shocked, stunned and amazed that El Comrado De Maximo Blimpo would not get all his facts straight and would defend his every mistake. He exploits capitalism for his own greedy ends, while he hates others doing the same damn thing.

It is past time to open the valve wide and deflate that gas bag!

Let me preface this story by saying I am not fond of any person or group claiming to be Christian engaging in fund raising based on political issues. Although I do most passionately defend their rights as citizens to do so under the Constitution.

A Christian organization in Maine has filed a lawsuit to challenge a bureaucratic decision to impose a $4,000 fine for its “criticism” of Islam, expressed in a mailing to supporters.

The issue developed following a Christian Action Network fundraising letter several months ago. The letter exposed “how some public schools were promoting Islalm by providing instruction on the Five Pillars of Islam and the Quran,” according to the complaint against the state.

“The letter pointed out that some schools have provided a ‘prayer room’ for Muslims and one textbook that told seventh grade students they ‘will become Muslim.’ The letter listed Gov. John Baldacci as a person who is over the public schools and someone to whom the recipients of the letter should voice their opinion,” the complaint said.

State officials then alleged the letter contained “an inflammatory anti-Muslim message” and used the governor’s name without his permission and canceled the group’s registration, imposed a $4,000 fine and said it no longer could send out letters.

In my opinion all political speech is inflammatory in nature, no matter what is said it will offend someone and can be classified as hate speech. Being offensive or inflammatory cannot be a reason to restrict free speech or else there can be no free political speech at all. The 1st Amendment does not protect religions from criticism in the public square, nor can such criticism be criminalized by calling it hate speech.

Telling people to send their objections of state policies to political officials by name, people that are involved in those issues seems to me to be a recommendation for direct, civil political action, and it cannot be used as a reason to restrict free speech.

Sorry Maine, this is a violation of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights and to fine free speech is clearly anti-American.
