‘Global Poverty Act’ to cost each citizen $2,500 or more.

The U.S. Senate soon could debate whether you, your spouse and each of your children – as well as your in-laws, parents, grandparents, neighbors and everyone else in America – each will spend $2,500 or more to reduce poverty around the world.

The plan sponsored by Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, is estimated to cost the U.S. some $845 billion over the coming few years in an effort to raise the standard of living around the globe.

S.2433 already has been approved in one form by the U.S. House of Representatives and now has been placed on the Senate Legislative Calendar for pending debate.

WND previously reported the proposal demands the president develop “and implement” a policy to “cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief” and other programs.

Cliff Kincaid at Accuracy in Media has published a critique asserting that while the Global Poverty Act sounds nice, the adoption could “result in the imposition of a global tax on the United States” and would make levels of U.S. foreign aid spending “subservient to the dictates of the United Nations.”

Obama has continued to lobby for such massive expenditures on his campaign stops. During an address as recently as last week, he said, “I’ll double our foreign assistance to $50 billion by 2012, and use it to support a stable future in failing states, and sustainable growth in Africa; to halve global poverty and to roll back disease.”

Beck and Kincaid pointed out that the plan not only commits the U.S. to the anti-poverty spending proposal, it also adopts for the U.S. the United Nations Millennium Development Goal, which includes a variety of treaties and protocols advocated by the U.N.

And there is nothing you can do about it if Obama is elected along with a fillibuster-proof Democrat Congress. I posted yesterday that Obama is running for something much higher than POTUS and the world looks ready to elect him.

I come to Berlin as so many of my countrymen have come before. Tonight, I speak to you not as a candidate for President, but as a citizen – a proud citizen of the United States, and a fellow citizen of the world.

I didn’t realize there was a global citizenship available!

“People of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment. This is our time,” he said.

Sounds to me like his political ambitions are considerably greater than POTUS!

One statement of his bothers me a great deal:

“The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes, natives and immigrants, Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand,”

How is he going to break them down? There cannot possibly be a breach in the wall between Islam and Christianity or Islam and Judaism, not the slightest hole. To break those walls down would require a forced ecumenism, a one-world religion and the criminalization of at least one religion, and with Islam’s influence over the U.N. they are trying to criminalyze any religion that criticizes Islam. For a Chriistian or Jew to accommodate Islam would require a denial of their own faith and so, Obama must be talking about a global government (See his world citizen statement above) and a one-world religion.

The Democrats have made a political calculation that they can weather the voter storm of protest of their allowing or even helping gas prices get over $5.00 a gallon, they are even adding 10 cents to the federal gas tax to push it over that level.

Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi oppose lifting the ban on domestic oil drilling – and they are hoping the American people will just quietly accept gas prices topping $5 a gallon or even higher.

They say the key to lowering the price is conservation.

A Royal Marine who threw himself on to an exploding grenade to save the lives of his comrades is to receive the George Cross.

Lance Corporal Matthew Croucher stepped on a trip-wire which triggered the device during a night raid on a Taliban compound in Afghanistan. Realising that three other members of his patrol would be killed if he did not act, he launched himself forward to smother the explosion, managing to twist on to his back to let his rucksack take the full force of the blast.

The explosion hurled him across the compound leaving him stunned, bleeding profusely from the nose and almost deaf.

His rucksack was shredded and burning shrapnel from the kit he had been carrying was scattered around the area, with pieces found embedded in his helmet and body armour. Miraculously the 24-year-old Marine survived and within minutes was on his feet, refusing evacuation and demanding to be allowed to stay with the patrol. He helped set an ambush and shot dead a Taliban insurgent in the ensuing gunfight.

Lance Cpl Croucher recalled later: ‘I thought, “I’ve set this bloody thing off and I’m going to do whatever it takes to protect the others”. ‘The lads behind me would have caught a lot. I’m very tight with the other three guys. There’s been a few times when they’ve saved my bacon. ‘I figured that if I could keep my torso and head intact I’d probably survive any other injuries - although I fully expected to lose a limb.’

The George Cross ranks alongside the Victoria Cross as the highest medal for valour. The VC is awarded for outstanding bravery ‘in the face of the enemy’ and is often regarded as more prestigious, although the GC recognises the same level of gallantry in cases where no enemy is present.

A new poll demonstrates Americans believe by a more than three-to-one ratio that the news media is trying to help Sen. Barack Obama win the presidential election this fall, a perception that John McCain has now taken advantage of in a humorous new feature on his website.

49 percent of voters believe most reporters are trying to help Obama with their coverage.

A full 50 percent of Americans polled believe the media is making economic conditions seem worse than they really are

41 percent believe reporters are trying to make news of the Iraq war seem unfairly negative.

Only 25 percent think most reporters present fair coverage of the economy, with the same percentage believing the American people are getting an unbiased picture of Iraq.

Independents, it seems, tend to agree more with the Republicans. Half of the unaffiliated respondents (50 percent) believe reporters are helping Obama, 21 percent perceive unbiased coverage, and a mere 12 percent see a pro-McCain slant.

Of those polled, 59 percent of Republicans affirmed the United States has the world’s best economy, while a mere 18 percent of Democrats would make the same judgment.

WASHINGTON – A Democratic senator on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee inadvertently explained why her colleagues have no intention of ending the moratorium on offshore oil drilling or increasing the areas open for exploration and production – no matter how popular the idea might be with gas prices soaring.

In an interview with Bloomberg TV’s “Money and Politics” last night, Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., explained Democrats don’t want to increase supplies of oil and gasoline because they want to wean Americans off of petroleum products.

Asked point-blank if Democrats in the Senate would consider how increasing the supply of oil would lower the prices that are pinching U.S. consumers, Cantwell replied: “Oh, we definitely want to move beyond petroleum. And so there will be a supply side offered by the Democrats and it will include everything from battery technology to making sure that we have good home domestic supply, and looking, as I said about moving faster on those kind of things like wind and solar that can help us with our high cost of natural gas.”

In other words, no.

The point was underlined by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, who said Democrats are not even permitting debate on legislation and amendments designed to increase the supply of oil and gasoline to U.S. consumers.

“Today, the appropriations markup that was going to include amendments that would open up the outer continental shelf and maybe even shale in Colorado and Utah was canceled,” she told the same Bloomberg interviewer. “It wasn’t postponed, it was canceled. So that indicates to me that the majority is not going to try to have an open debate, but I hope I’m wrong. If they have an open debate, and we’re allowed to have amendments, and we have a balanced plan that includes production in all the sectors, then I believe we can meet this problem in a bipartisan way, and that’s what we should be doing for America.”

The corporate headquarters for McDonald’s is hearing from store managers in California that customers are upset over the company’s pro-homosexual advocacy and they aren’t going to take it any longer.

Yuriy Popko, one of several Christians who staged a sign-waving protest at the Golden Arches in Citrus Heights today, said the protest at that location was suspended when store officials agreed to convey protesters’ objections to the corporate office.

It was because of a decision by the restaurant chain known for Happy Meals and its Golden Arches to deliberately advocate for homosexuality. The company has given $20,000 to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and placed one of its executives on that group’s board. The NGLCC, among other things, lobbies for same-sex “marriage” provisions.

“McDonalds should focus on food quality and safety issues instead of attacking the values held by the majority of people worldwide. Marriage between a man and a woman is the norm throughout the world. McDonalds’ personal attack against those who support the traditional definition of marriage, while siding with a narrow group that promotes a radical redefinition, shows that company executives are out to lunch. McDonalds might as well change their signs to read ‘billions and billions insulted,’” said Mathew Staver, chief of Liberty Counsel.

“It’s a shame that McDonald’s would tarnish their family-friendly image,” said AFA Chairman Don Wildmon. “But the company has ramped up its support of the gay agenda and it leaves us no option but to call for a boycott.”

Boycotts and protests are the American way to make the voices of average citizens heard. Normally I am not a big fan of Wildmon, but McDonalds has always been family oriented and to use the money of those families to advance anti-family, pro-gay issues is just not good business IMO.

I won’t go to McDonalds for anything until they stop using money I pay for products for gay causes.

By the way, I wonder what this says about Californians and amending the state constitution this year to ban gay marriages?

A friend of a friend produced this video, one of the best I’ve seen when it comes to documenting the anti-Americanism of the radical left. Complete with an upside down flag, spitting on an Iraq War veteran and calling him a rapist, it’s sure to make your blood boil. Good gosh, can we please rid our country of this kind of human garbage?

You know, the Left would like to turn almost anything now into a hate crime. Do you think we could get the Dems in Congress to include US servicemen and women in their next piece of hate crime legislation? Imagine if some right-of-center folks had spat all over a LGBT parade. I’d think we’d see a huge cry of intolerance and bigotry from the Left. Why should it be any different when these maggots verbally and physically attack our troops in our own country, whether they are in uniform or not?

Its a pretty bad commentary on our country when a firefighter is killed, not because of the fire, but because some bastard is shooting at the firefighters and police officers.

MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (AP)—A gunman shot at firefighters responding to a report of a burning pickup truck early Monday, killing one, then opened fire on other emergency workers, wounding two. The incident began at 5:40 a.m. with a report of a pickup truck fire in Maplewood, a suburban town just southwest of St. Louis. When firefighters arrived, someone began firing shots.

St. Mary’s Hospital spokesman Eric Clark said a firefighter/paramedic from Maplewood was killed. The city identified him as 22-year-old Ryan Hummert. Officials said he was shot to death as he got off the fire truck.

Hummert, the son of former Maplewood Mayor Andy Hummert, began his career in August 2007 after graduating from paramedic training. He graduated from the St. Louis County Fire Academy in March.

“He had been with the fire department for only 10 months but knew it was his calling,” Fire Chief Terry Merrell said at a brief news conference as he fought back tears. “It’s impossible to say in words the emotion and pain we are feeling right now.”

Sanyoz Rai, who works at a 7-Eleven store nearby, said he heard three or four shots at around 5:45 a.m., then saw a police officer go to the ground holding his shoulder. Rai said he then saw a firefighter on the ground behind the truck. He said the firefighter remained there for an hour before authorities could get close enough to remove him.

God bless the brave young man, his family and fellow first responders and may He help the authorities get the scum bag that did this!

Rick Warren’s Southern California megachurch announced today it will host the first joint campaign appearance of Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama.

Warren will moderate the event with the presumed Republican and Democratic presidential nominees Aug.16 at Saddleback Church’s Civil Forum on Leadership and Compassion.

“This is a critical time for our nation and the American people deserve to hear both candidates speak from the heart – without interruption – in a civil and thoughtful format absent the partisan ‘gotcha’ questions that typically produce heat instead of light,” Warren said in a statement.

To the surprise of many here at SAB, I am absolutely against this event. While I believe the government should not be hostile to people of faith, that Christians have a right to promote and elect fellow Christians, influence laws to reflect their belifs and be involved in shaping our nation; this is an unacceptable entanglement by the Church in election year politics that elevates one man as seemingly speaking for Christians everywhere.

It is perfectly fine to me for a minister to speak to issues that are important to Christians, even to the point of indicating how each candidate stands on these issues. Outside the pulpit, there is no reason why a minister or any Christian should not be able to endorse one candidate over another. But, this event puts Warren into the position of Protestant Pope, without benefit of God’s calling him or anyone to that position.

Warren said: “While I know both men as friends, and they recognize I will be frank, but fair, they also know I will be raising questions in these four areas beyond what political reporters typically ask,” Warren said. “This includes pressing issues that are bridging divides in our nation, such as poverty, HIV/AIDS, climate and human rights.” These, as he stated them in the past, are Leftist issues and Warren has demonstrated his own anti-Semitism and pro-Islam stances in the past and I expect him to endorse Obama!

The purported Certification of Live Birth published by the Daily Kos left wing blog and claimed as genuine by the Obama campaign features a security border that differs dramatically from security borders on COLB documents before and after the one supposedly printed out for Obama in 2007.

Barack Obama may be on a world tour surrounded by a fawning media, but Sunday an expert in electronic document forensics released a detailed report on the purported birth certificate—actually a “Certification of Live Birth” or COLB—claimed as genuine by his campaign. The expert concludes with 100% certainty that it is a crudely forged fake: “a horribly forgery,” according to the analysis published on the popular right-wing Atlas Shrugs blog.

Atlas Shrugs publisher Pamela Geller reports that the expert analyst, who goes by the screen name “Techdude”, is “an active member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, American College of Forensic Examiners, The International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners, International Information Systems Forensics Association—the list goes on. He also a board certified as a forensic computer examiner, a certificated legal investigator, and a licensed private investigator. He has been performing computer-based forensic investigations since 1993 (although back then it did not even have a formal name yet) and he has performed countless investigations since then.”

“The (Daily) KOS image security border pattern does not match any known specimen from any known year. It does not match the pre-2006 nor does it match the post-2006 certificate patterns. The placement of the text in all of the pre-2006 and post-2006 certificates are almost identical pixel location matches while the image?s text placement does not match any known specimen from any known year. The shape and kerning of the fonts used in the 2006 through 2008 certificates are identical while the shape and kerning of the fonts used in the image does not match any known specimen. The KOS image shows clear signs of tampering such as the mismatch in RGB and error levels, visible indications of the previous location of the erased security border, easily detectable patterns of repeating flaws around the new security border, EXIF data that says the image was last saved with Photoshop CS3 for Macintosh, and finally a technician from Hawaii who confirms it just looks wrong.”

The evidence, he says, allows for two possible scenarios by which the document was fabricated:

This is not to suggest anything about the Obama Campaign or DailyKos, other than it appears the document they say prove Obama is a U.S. citizen is a forgery.

She suffered oxygen deprivation as a result of the overdose and Lauren is now ... unable to speak out for herself. At the time of the overdose Lauren was expecting a baby. Her parents honored what they knew would have been her wish and did all they could to keep her healthy and comfortable until the child was born. Today, though Lauren may not be aware of it, she is the mother of Ember Grace, who was born in February 2007,” Brown wrote.

“With therapy, she might be eating [by herself] within a couple months,” he said. “Right now they’re trying to hang her out to dry.”

He said he’s identified treatments that could be tried and therapy that could be attempted, and he’s offered to provide the care his daughter needs, but has been rejected.

“My daughter has been there for 16 months. I’ve had enough,” he said. “I’m really ticked about it. This Medicaid thing is paying huge numbers to keep her in this home when she could be at my home for nothing.”

Even now, without substantive treatment, he said, “She has been trying to sit up and also has tried to verbalize. She looks good, is loving, she cries, she can giggle, she can’t talk but does try to verbalize, we can tell when she’s in pain or uncomfortable.”

“We struggle at times as we seek to share with the public the details of what is happening with Lauren because of the disagreement we have with Lauren’s mother. We cannot understand her reasoning in refusing a path of hope, healing and restoration for Lauren and insisting on causing her death by withholding food and water from her. The issue in Lauren’s case is the eternal truth that all people, no matter what their medical condition, bear the image of God and deserve basic care and an opportunity to be restored to health.”

The statement from the House of Representatives said:

BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 144th General Assembly of the State of Delaware that it is against the public policy of this State and this State’s interest in life, health and safety, for hydration and nutrition that is not harming a patient to be involuntarily removed from a non-terminal, apparently brain-incapacitated patient if doing so will cause the individual’s death. Furthermore, such withholding of hydration and nutrition without: 1) clear written direction from a legally competent patient or, 2) a valid written advance health-care directive that was previously executed by a patient who is now incapacitated and that either allows such withholding under such circumstances or grants an agent authority to make that decision by an incapacitated patient is also against the public policy of the State of Delaware.

The lawmakers’ plan cites the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which “asserts that ‘everyone has the right to recognition as a person before the law’ and that ‘all are equal before the law.’”

Three issues are of importance to me:

I object to the idea that the state is playing a role in the execution (Euthanasia) of Lauren. As long as she is able to survive without external life support machines and the father is willing to take her into his home and provide for her daily care, the state should have no authority over Lauren.

I object to nutrition and hydration being classified as artifical life support or extraordinary means, even if administered by a tube. If she were on machines and removing her from those machines would cause her death that is a different subject, but dammit food and water are not artifical means of life support.

I object to the state exercising control over the lives of our children. If this case is between the parents and one parent is willing to assume responsibility that ends the matter ands the state should butt out!

Petitioners have succeeded in moving a measure that would effectively decriminalize prostitution in the city of San Francisco to the Nov. 4 ballot.

While prostitution is unlawful under the California Penal Code, the measure – if passed by voters – would ban the San Francisco Police Department from allocating any financial resources for the investigation and prosecution of sex workers on prostitution charges.

Section four of the ballot measure – under the heading “Prostitution Shall Be Decriminalized” – further states that the city, county, and district attorney “shall not subject sex-workers to life long economic discrimination associated with having a criminal record.”

I have a big problem with local municipalities being able to violate state or federal laws with impunity. California has laws again prostitution, it is a criminal act, whether others think it should be or not. But, if cities like this can flaunt the law and not suffer by withholding of state funds, then the state is for all intent and purposes lawless. This is anarchy!

On Easter the ex-cheerleader (age 19) in this picture was watching a road that lead to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target, and she shot him.

Turned out he was a bomb maker for the Taliban and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a US patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.

The shot was measured at 725 yards. She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb. The shot struck him in the butt blowing in to the bomb which detonated. He was blown to pieces. The Air Force made a motivational poster of her. Her name is Kimmy.
