McCain’s Best Sales Pitch
How about McCain attacking the idea of our not drilling for oil in Anwar and exposing the Al Gore plan for our government to arbitrarilty, gradually increase gas prices to at least $5.00 a gallon to get people away from fossil fuels and out of their cars? This link is very interesting in that regard.
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2037987/posts
Such drilling really frightens and hurts the Caribou:
Scares the crap out of the bears:
The American people want lower gas prices, these higher prices will grow and throw our economy into a horrible, perhaps irreversible tailspin. So why not take the fight to Obama and the Democrats? I think the American people are not willing to give up their cars and standard of living, and global warming isn’t selling outside D.C., so I suggest McCain sell the idea of Anwar, North Dakota and off-shore drilling big time, make it the centerpiece of his campaign. Also, sell it as a national security issue, the people that have the oil mostly want us dead, so we need to stop all dependence upon them for our oil.
This is, IMO, the big issue for 2008 if McCain has the cahones to back off his ‘green’ crap and sell America’s financial and national security interests.

Presbyterians move to allow gay clergy
Presbyterians move to allow gay clergy, but fight remains:
SAN JOSE, Calif.—The nation’s largest Presbyterian denomination on Friday (June 27) cracked open the door to ordaining non-celibate gay and lesbian clergy, though the decades-old fight is far from over.
Delegates at the Presbyterian Church (USA) meeting here voted 54 percent to 46 percent to remove a clause in their constitution that requires clergy to be either married and faithful or single and chaste.
But the action still needs approval by a majority of the denomination’s 173 regional bodies, called presbyteries, and similar moves in recent years have twice failed to win ratification on the local level.
Under the new rules, candidates for ordination must “pledge themselves to live lives obedient to Jesus Christ the Head of the Church.” It makes no reference to sexual orientation or activity.
Since the entirety of the New Testament has always been viewed as authoritative, God breathed and even every word of the Epistles are essentially inspired by the Spirit of Christ; how can people have homosexual desires and/or engage in homosexual conduct and be obedient to Christ (God) at the same time? Homosexual desires and conduct are condemned by God and yet these few people, contrary to their membership, want to ordain homosexuals as ministers of the Gospel, which two things are wholly incompatible.
Whether it is the Presbyterians, the Roman Catholic Church or any other group calling themselves disciples of Christ, if members are in disagreement about basic teachings of their faith, it seems the practical, honest course is to start their own religious group, issue a man edited Bible omitting condemnations about things like homosexuality versus trying to deny the Word of God as taught by their home church.
Homosexuals, can accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord and be saved, and even struggle with their homosexual desires and even fall back into homosexual behavior at times and still remain saved, as the blood of Christ is sufficient to save any man or woman; but to have saving faith means to accept all that Jesus directly and/or through his Apostles taught us, to recognize and not try to hide our sins and to repent (agree with God about the matter) when they fail. What even by free will one cannot do and remian faithful to the teachings of Christ, IMO, is to change God’s Word to agree with their own aberrant, unChristian thoughts and actions and think they are genuinely saved.
The point? The leadership of the Presbyterian Church must be honest and say they reject God’s Word as being infallible, as regards its condemnation of homosexuality; or, they should submit themselves as servants to their membership and uphold all of God’s Word, despite any desires to feel poliotically correct.

Col. Bud Day on McCain
Of course you are free to discount all of this, but I thought you might like to read about it before you vote:
Col. Bud Day, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, fighter pilot, Vietnam POW and roommate of John McCain at the Hanoi Hilton.
When it comes to choosing a president, the American people want to know more about a candidate than policy positions. They want to know about character, the values ingrained in his heart. For Mr. McCain, that means they will want to know more about him personally than he has been willing to reveal.
One of the stories by Col. Day Americans should hear. It involves what happened to him after escaping from a North Vietnamese prison during the war. When he was recaptured, a Vietnamese captor broke his arm and said, “I told you I would make you a cripple.”
The break was designed to shatter Mr. Day’s will. He had survived in prison on the hope that one day he would return to the United States and be able to fly again. To kill that hope, the Vietnamese left part of a bone sticking out of his arm, and put him in a misshapen cast. This was done so that the arm would heal at “a goofy angle,” as Mr. Day explained. Had it done so, he never would have flown again. But it didn’t heal that way because of John McCain. Risking severe
punishment, Messrs. McCain and Day collected pieces of bamboo in the prison courtyard to use as a splint. Mr. McCain put Mr. Day on the floor of their cell and, using his foot, jerked the broken bone into place. Then, using strips from the bandage on his own wounded leg and the bamboo, he put Mr. Day’s splint in place.Years later, Air Force surgeons examined Mr. Day and complemented the treatment he’d gotten from his captors. Mr. Day corrected them. It was
“Dr.” McCain who deserved the credit. Mr. Day went on to fly again.Another story I heard over dinner with the Days involved Mr. McCain serving as one of the three chaplains for his fellow prisoners. At one point, after being shuttled among different prisons, Mr. Day had found himself as the most senior officer at the Hanoi Hilton. So he tapped Mr. McCain to help administer religious services to the other prisoners.
Today, Mr. Day, a very active 83, still vividly recalls Mr. McCain’s sermons. “He remembered the Episcopal liturgy,” Mr. Day says, “and sounded
like a bona fide preacher.” One of Mr. McCain’s first sermons took as its text Luke 20:25 and Matthew 22:21, “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s.” Mr. McCain said he and his fellow prisoners shouldn’t ask God to free them, but to help them become the best people they could be while serving as POWs. It was Caesar who put them in prison and Caesar who would get them out. Their task was to act with honor.Another McCain story, somewhat better known, is about the Vietnamese practice of torturing him by tying his head between his ankles with his arms
behind him, and then leaving him for hours. The torture so badly busted up his shoulders that to this day Mr. McCain can’t raise his arms over his
head. One night, a Vietnamese guard loosened his bonds, returning at the end of his watch to tighten them again so no one would notice. Shortly after, on Christmas Day, the same guard stood beside Mr. McCain in the prison yard and drew a cross in the sand before erasing it. Mr. McCain later said that when he returned to Vietnam for the first time after the war, the only person he really wanted to meet was that guard.Mr. Day recalls with pride Mr. McCain stubbornly refusing to accept special treatment or curry favor to be released early, even when gravely
ill. Mr. McCain knew the Vietnamese wanted the propaganda victory of the son and grandson of Navy admirals accepting special treatment. “He wasn’t corruptible then,” Mr. Day says, “and he’s not corruptible today.”
I have omitted most of the stories, they have been written elsewhere, and I still am not pleased with McCain as a candidate for a host of reasons; but let no one question his courage, his honor as a soldier or his humanity.

Michelle Obama Promises Reversal of Defense of Marriage Act
Mrs. Obama Reaffirms Husband’s Support to Gay
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/06/mrs-obama-reaff.html
ABC News’ Rachel Humphries and Kate McCarthy report: Michelle Obama addressed the Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council Gala in New York City Thursday night and renewed her husband’s promise to repeal federal policies that she says limit the rights of gays and lesbians.
“Barack believes that we must fight for a world as it should be. A world where together we work to reverse discriminatory laws like D.O.M.A. (Defense of Marriage Act) and Don’t Ask Don’t Tell,” Mrs. Obama said, addressing an audience of 250 people at a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee.
D.O.M.A stipulates that states are not required to recognize same sex marriages, even if the marriages are recognized in another state. The law also states that the federal government define marriage as a legal union between a man and a woman. “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell”, as it is commonly called, allows gay men and women to serve in the military but it prevents them from talking about their sexuality openly.
This appears to me to be a declaration of war to force homosexual rights upon this nation. Like a good politician, she and her husband talk about states rights; but to reverse “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” and a federal definition of marraige as being between a man and woman, appears to me that they are going to make a federal case of those issues and more, being an openly pro-gay administration.
This is not, IMO, simple pandering to gain support of the gay Community, but I believe it is a truthful expression of their intentions to promote gay rights legislation and use the bully pulpit to advance the gay agenda.
Freedom of Religion - Only at home!
Once again into the breach dear friends, that breach being in the Bill Of Rights. People do not want to accept the idea that the Bill of Rights were meant to be inviolable, not subject to any act of Congress, the Judiciary or the Executive Branches of government. The Bill of Rights are in fact a list of things the government is forbidden to alter. Yet, ... the Congress, the Courts and the states continue to amend these rights:
‘Religion in private’ OK, declares ACLU
New limits on Christians leave family groups reeling.
Colorado’s new state law that apparently was based on the belief that free speech rights are not unalienable and they sometimes must be restricted is scaring residents who now fear expressing their opinions in public.
WND reported the law, SB200, which was promoted as an “anti-discrimination” plan favoring alternative sexual lifestyles and gender perceptions, has made it a criminal offense to discriminate against someone based on those lifestyles or perceptions.
“This desire to limit the constitutionally guaranteed right to the ‘free exercise of religion’ can be seen in Cathryn Hazouri’s, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, testimony given before the Colorado House Judiciary Committee,” the group said.
“One may practice one’s religion in private; however, once a religious person comes into the public arena, there are limitations in how the expression of their religion impacts others,” she had said.
It is not just the ACLU, nor liberal governors and legislators; much like Canada to the north, it is increasingly becoming the sentiment of the American people that all forms of religious beliefs and practice should be confined to the home and church, and in the latter case even in the pulpit to preach against sins like abortion or homosexuality constitute hate crimes.
You better get used to more and more repressive laws against Christian (they will never dare apply these laws against Islam) beliefs and practices in the public square and as part of the price we will pay is that, your little girl gets to examine the hairy penis of some guy, be he straight or gay, in the same restroom in public facilities, even at school. Isn’t our brave new, politically correct world great?
The First Amendment protection for religious worship is as inviolable and important to our liberty as Free political Speech, a free press or private gun ownership. If you are willing to sacrifice one upon the altar of political correctness, then none of these rights are safe at all.

Pelosi to silence Conservatives
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/ken-shepherd/2008/06/25/pelosi-i-want-bring-back-fairness-doctrine
Over at HumanEvents.com, John Gizzi has House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on the record saying that the Democratic caucus, far from being agnostic on the so-called Fairness Doctrine, is actually interested in resurrecting it. What’s more, Pelosi herself wants to bring back the policy that could literally silence conservative talk radio.
“Do you personally support revival of the ‘Fairness Doctrine?’” I asked.
“Yes,” the speaker replied, without hesitation.
The Liberals will soon, without any doubt, have a filibuster proof Congress and if Obama is POTUS a fellow socialist traveler and if McCain a powerless POTUS; and they absolutely will, absent American outrage, revive the Fairness Doctrine and thereby effectively silence conservative talk radio. This is typical of all socialist states, they must silence, outlaw, all political opposition on their way to a totalitarian state. WASS!
PBS: Attacks the Greatest Generation
The War of the World
A series on PBS staring on June 30th wherein
Harvard historian Niall Ferguson presents an explosive challenge to common assumptions about the 20th century. In this extraordinarily written and stunningly filmed series, Ferguson challenges nearly all our enduring assumptions about World War II which was, without question, the most destructive conflict the planet has ever seen.
PBS slaps WW-II veterans in the face by saying that we were an evil empire that partnered with a mass murderer (Stalin) to beat Germany, and because we bombed Dresden and other German cities, along with Nagasaki and Hiroshima, it makes America no better than Hitler.
It even warns WW-II veterans with a weak heart to not watch this program. This is revisionist history at its worst, broadcast by the ultra-liberal, propaganda ministry for the DNC, being PBS and produced by another freaking America hater at Harvard.

Child Trafficking
FBI: 300 Child Prostitution Suspects Arrested, 433 Victims Recovered
WASHINGTON — The FBI said Wednesday that 300 people were arrested and 433 young victims recovered in a round-up of child prostitution suspects.
“The mission of the ‘Innocence Lost’ national initiative is to combat the growing problem of sexual exploitation of children through prostitution,” said Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Robert Mueller in making the announcement at headquarters.
Among those arrested are pimps and prostitutes — some of whom are in their 20s but are said to have admitted selling sex since their early teens, federal law enforcement sources told FOX News.
The raids took place in run-down neighborhoods and interstate truck stops in cities across the country, the sources said. The vast majority of those arrested will be charged under state and local statutes.
The FBI was touting the fifth year of its child protection program with the news of the multitude of arrests that stemmed from “Operation Cross Country” — launched late last week in 16 large and medium-sized cities including Dallas, Boston and Rockville, Md., among others.
Mueller was joined by Ernie Allen of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in speaking about the program and the round-up at Wednesday’s press conference in Washington
I just watched, for the first time believe it or not, “Human Trafficking,” with Mira Sorvino and then I find this story. My question is this: Why are we shocked? We have made our children, even very small children into sex objects in our advertizing, our movies, books and well, every form of media. We dress them like sexy adults, have them in sexual poses and behaving like prostitutes. Then we look at our schools, where young girls dress and act like cheap hookers. I have a 6-year old Special Needs girl in my class that insists on wearing her “thin jeans,” with holes all over them to look sexy and no matter how we try and discourage it, parents seem unable any longer to say no to these insane demands by their children.
So, when we see these horrible things happening, maybe we need to accuse ourselves first for permitting the sexualization of children in our country. We need to take a stand for our children now before it is too late!

Christians Deported from U.S.
U.S. immigration authorities have stepped up deportations, but rather than pursue illegal aliens, they have chosen to evict America’s church ministers from the country instead.
Honesty could cost Christian pastor Keith Thomas his citizenship because he cooperated with immigration officials, disclosing two minor marijuana convictions he incurred when he was a young man in England 33 years ago.
Thomas, 53, is working without pay, fearing deportation from the U.S. and separation from his family. He was denied a green card based on convictions that were expunged in 1982. Thomas told WND he has documentation to prove his clean record since the 1975 conviction and that he has always been truthful with officials, but he doesn’t understand why people who enter the country illegally are allowed to stay when he is facing the citizenship battle of his life.
“They’ve let 12 million illegals into the country, yet somebody has been doing some good, paying taxes, came in legally and has been married to an American for 27 years and has two American kids, and they’re going to kick him out?” Thomas asked. “I told the truth. Nobody called me out on my past. If I had not even owned up to my record, the government would not have been able to find any of it.”
Immigration authorities have also marked a Catholic priest for deportation to Ireland on July 1 after documentation errors left the 58-year-old missionary without paperwork he needed to remain in De Smet, S.D.
Cathal Gallagher arrived in South Dakota from Ireland 10 years ago and has since become a respected figure in his community. Now the state’s top elected officials and parishioners are pleading with immigration authorities to reopen his case and allow him to remain in the country, the Argus Leader reported.
“I wouldn’t want to stay in this country if you haven’t blessed me with the right to be in this country,” Gallagher told his home church in De Smet. “I won’t be here as an illegal.”Gallagher served the church for 22 years in Japan before he was a granted a religious visa in 1996 to work with alcohol addicts in Rochester, Minn. He was later invited to work with churches in South Dakota.
“I thought I was going to go back to Japan ... but then I fell in love with De Smet,” he said. “It’s a very simple way of life, a place where people are important. I never expected to find that in the United States.”
Following his application for residency in 2001, Gallagher was informed in 2003 that he would receive his green card. However, it was later denied in February 2006. Lawyers hired by the Catholic Church spent two years fighting to have the decision reversed, but their efforts have been without success.
Not only is America becoming increasingly atheist and agnostic, despite the polls that say otherwise, but for several decades it has become antagonistic towards the Christian faith. Islamic Imans preaching hate for America are accepted and no public official dares speak against them, but Christ and the Christian Church are increasingly being treated as enemies of the state, unwelcome here and guilty of hate speech crimes if they dare speak of their beliefs outside the pulpit.
Welcome to liberal, secular, atheist and anti-Christ America!

The Gay Brain
What the Gay Brain Looks Like
I first heard of this study a few days ago, wherein a conservative talk show host, Lee Rogers of KSFO in S.F., declared that this study shows at last that gay people do not choose to be gay, they are born that way.
Scientists at the Karolinska Institute studied brain scans of 90 gay and straight men and women, and found that the size of the two symmetrical halves of the brains of gay men more closely resembled those of straight women than they did straight men. In heterosexual women, the two halves of the brain are more or less the same size. In heterosexual men, the right hemisphere is slightly larger. Scans of the brains of gay men in the study, however, showed that their hemispheres were relatively symmetrical, like those of straight women, while the brains of homosexual women were asymmetrical like those of straight men. The number of nerves connecting the two sides of the brains of gay men were also more like the number in heterosexual women than in straight men.
http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,1815538,00.html
Theses studies are always conducted by people with a strong pro-homosexuality bias, so-called scientists, trying to prove homosexuality by junk science is an innate trait. This alone should make their study suspect; they are trying very hard to make the data fit their prejudices.
You’ll note that this was not a randomized, double-blind study; which is the gold standard in medical research.
In all these studies, what is never addressed is cause versus effect. Did homosexual desire over time effect these changes or were these changes already evident (caused) before they engaged in homosexual desires and activity.
Unless children can be determined to demonstrate such physical differences and in 100% (Or nearly so) these children grow up to become homosexuals, then we must suspect effect over causation.
Let us, only for the sake of conversation, say that homosexuals are born with something in them that produces homosexual desire. Does that mean they should act out on these destructive desires? We insist that child molesters, people claiming irresistible sexual desires for children from a very young age refrain from that conduct, we say the same for those supposedly born with an alcoholic gene, and for a host of other aberrant, harmful desires; but for some odd reason, only in the last few decades, have we decided that homosexuals are born that way and should not restrain those desires.
Anyway, this study is meaningless, except that homosexuals and most liberals and a few sexually liberal conservatives will claim it is absolutely determinative that homosexuality is innate and should be considered normal.

Iran Wins War Against U.S. Paper Tiger
Ahmadinejad says West failed in Iran nuclear crisis
Isn’t he right?
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday the West has failed to break Iran’s will in the nuclear standoff, days after world powers presented Tehran with a new offer aimed at ending the crisis.
“In the nuclear issue, the bullying powers have used up all their capabilities but could not break the will of the Iranian nation,” Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by state television.
World powers—Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States—on Saturday offered Tehran a new package of technological and economic incentives in exchange for suspending uranium enrichment activities.
The West fears the process might be used to make an atomic bomb although Iran insists it only wants to generate nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
Ahmadinejad’s comments were his first statement on the nuclear crisis since the offer was presented but it was not clear if they represented a reaction to the proposal.

What can we do now? McCain won’t stand up to Democrats to resist Iran and Iran knows it! Obama promises to negotiate and Iran knows that means appeasement. We are getting out of Iraq, leaving it under the influence of Iran.
Haven’t we become a paper tiger and no one fears us any more, not even economic sanctions, certainly not to get anyone to stand tough with us against them, and absolutely no military action against Iran? Sounds like he won to me!
