In the debate last night, Obama stated he wants to build the economy from the “Ground Up.” Does anybody get what he said? Were people really listening?

A free-market economy is built by hard-working people that create the businesses that create the jobs that feed our economy, which rewards hard work people and allows everyone to be productive and successful, if they desire to be.

The fat cats of Wall Street that grease the hands of Congress, big mortgage bankers, lobbyist and special interest groups combined are destroying our economy by catering to people who do not work; giving them homes they have not earned and cannot and will not pay for.

You could re-distributed the wealth and give these people all the money in the world and they wouldn’t build businesses that create jobs, because they’ve fed too long at the breast of big government, where a give-me, not what can I give back, mentality rules in most cases.

Obama wants to increase taxes for everyone making over $250,000. This will not hurt the fat cats nor the greased palms of our Congressional crooks, this will hurt small businesses. Then our socialist wannabee, wants to increase giving colossal hand-outs to those that do nothing productive in society. This re-distribution of wealth socialist mentality has never worked, just look at Russia. So out of the financial chaos they have created through their social engineering programs, they now seek to nationalize through government bailouts our financial sector...which is basically government taking control from the top down.

If you think electing Obama is going to make you economically secure...you are in for a rude awakening. Soon free enterprise, small businesses and private home ownership by hard working people, will be no more. The socialism Obama is advocating is really the preparatory first step toward creating communism, where Government (or tyrants) control everything and the people own nothing.

The change “we need” and the change “we can believe in” that Obama is trying to sell the American people, is Communism, pure and simple. Frankly, if I wanted to live in a repressive communist regime, I would move to Venezuela, or Russia, or Cuba. I definitely don’t want that for America and I can’t comprehend any true American, that loves this country, choosing this type of “CHANGE!” for our country!

The reason Republicans are not backing this bailout bill is not because of John McCain! Democrats, like Harry Reid & Chris Dodd & media pundits are blaming John McCain because the deal did not pass! If McCain did have anything to do with stopping this bill from being railroaded through by the Democrats…I’m so glad he suspended his campaign and went to Washington. Someone needs to bring this insanity to a screeching halt on Capital Hill.

So what were the Democrats trying to sneak in to this emergency package?...and why have Republicans refused to support it?

The Henry Paulson/Chris Dodd/Democratic bailout hid a poison pill that would push 20% of all profits from the bailout into the Housing Trust Fund (HTF) - a boondoggle that is used to fund political-action groups like ACORN and La Raza.

ACORN, a left-wing group, already takes in 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers — you and me — and has leveraged nearly four decades of government subsidies to fund affiliates that promote the welfare state and undermine capitalism and self-reliance, some of which have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and encouraging voter fraud.

In the proposed bailout agreement, the Democrats desire to pre-direct that future funds (profits) not be returned to the taxpayers via the treasury but that they be used to underwrite potential questionable (maybe even illegal activities) of nonprofits which have had a hand in promoting and expanding access to “no money down” loans for minorities, illegal voter registrations and extensive lobbying activities.

The crazy thing about this is that this very thing (giving loans to people who can’t pay them back) is what brought us this crisis in the first place…now Democrats want to continue this fraudulent shell game by hiding this pork in the bailout proposal, at taxpayer’s expense.

Yes, even in a bill as important as the bailout the Democrats are trying to stuff it with pork!

What is the Barack H. Obama connection?  He cut his ideological teeth working with ACORN as a “community organizer” and legal representative. These are the crooks that want to run this country…into the ground.

Obama draws crowd of 20,000 - 8,000 turned away.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had to turn thousands of people away at the Barack Obama Rally at Metropolitan Park.

Twenty thousand people came out to attend the rally Saturday afternoon, but a reported 8,000 were turned away at the gates after the park was at over capacity.

THE VILLAGES, FL - NORTH OF ORLANDO - SUNDAY:

Palin draws crowd of 60,000 in The Villages - none turned away.

“Sa-Rah! Sa-Rah!” they chanted at every mention of her name, applauding loudly and waiving tiny American flags that were distributed—along with free water bottles—by local volunteers. The fire chief estimated the crowd at 60,000.

While many pundits are pointing to corporate greed and a lack of government regulation as the cause for the American mortgage and financial crisis, some analysts are saying it wasn’t too little government intervention that cased the mortgage meltdown, but too much, in the form of activists compelling the government to pressure Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae into unsound – though politically correct – lending practices.

“In an attempt to increase homeownership, particularly by minorities and the less affluent, an attack on underwriting standards was undertaken by virtually every branch of the government since the early 1990s,” Liebowitz writes. “The decline in mortgage underwriting standards was universally praised as ‘innovation’ in mortgage lending by regulators, academic specialists, (government-sponsored enterprises) and housing activists.”

An article in the Los Angeles Times from the late ‘90s praised the sudden surge in homeownership among minorities, calling it “one of the hidden success stories of the Clinton era.”

A New York Times article from Sept. 1999 states that Fannie Mae had been under increasing pressure from the Clinton administration to expand mortgage loans among low- and moderate-income people and that the corporation loosened its lending requirements to comply. 

When Greg Mankiw, chairman of President Bush’s Council of Economic Advisers, voiced a warning about weakened underwriting standards, he was rebuffed by Congress..

The Wall Street Journal quoted Congressman Barney Frank, D-Mass., in 2003 as criticizing Greg Mankiw “because he is worried about the tiny little matter of safety and soundness rather than ‘concern about housing.’”

Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, rejected a Bush administration and Congressional Republican plan for regulating the mortgage industry in 2003, saying, “These two entities – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – are not facing any kind of financial crisis.” According to a New York Times article, Frank added, “The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.”

My son lives in Houston and was part of those who were ordered not to evacuate. They lost power and have felt the impact of Ike’s devastation. In talking to him, I noticed a stark contrast between those who stayed behind during Katrina and those who stayed behind during Ike. You draw your own conclusions, as I’ve drawn mine:

 

1.  People are not sitting around in a dome or convention center, dying and whining that FEMA and the Government are not there to rescue them.

  2.  People are working as neighbor helping neighbor to clean up, assist and give to others in need.

  3.  There is not wide-scale looting and sole dependency upon Government and FEMA handouts for their survival.

  4.  People don’t have the give-me and rescue-me attitude of the entitlement driven society.

  5.  They are not whining because MSM reporters have dropped out of covering their plight and hardships. They prefer the media to get out of the way and let them start to rebuild.

  6.  They are not blaming the Government and George Bush for not protecting them from Ike’s destruction like the MSM and entitlement masses did during Katrina.

I’m sick of this entitlement mentality in America. It’s time these people start being contributing members of society, or leave America! It’s time we elect a President that will not continue to increase this entitlement mentality in the inner cities where do nothing people sit on their front porches waiting for their monthly government check. It’s time to end affirmative action programs that only escalate the racist division in this country. 

I say stop whining and get up off your black butt and start working to take care of yourself and your family; pay taxes like the rest of us hard-working people, instead of looking for a free ride and government hand-out.

The ATI-News/Zogby poll revealed today 52 percent of those surveyed believe Obama’s tax scheme would leave them worse off, including 52 percent of independents and 51 percent of women.

“Surprisingly, 18 percent of Obama’s own supporters said his tax plan would make them worse off,” the poll results said.

One in four Democrats believes Obama’s tax agenda would be damaging personally and one in five self-described liberals takes the same position, the poll showed.

The poll also asked, “If Barack Obama is elected president and follows through on his plan to raise taxes on businesses and the wealthy, what do you think businesses will most likely do?”

Seventy-eight percent of American voters said Obama’s tax hikes would be passed directly to consumers through price increases, layoffs and/or reduced wages. Only 13 percent had faith that businesses would pay the cost of Obama’s tax increases out of their own pockets.

Even 64 percent of Obama’s own supporters said his plan to raise taxes on businesses will either result in increased prices for goods, reduced pay for employees, and employee layoffs, as do 76 percent of Democrats and 78 percent of women.

Brad O’Leary, who wrote “Audacity of Deceit” stated “The plan is a loser in almost every key voter block.”

“Even those who plan to vote for Obama think that average Americans, not the wealthy, would suffer under his tax plan,” said O’Leary. “Even lower-income Americans, who are the supposed beneficiaries under the Obama tax plan, reject the plan because they know that tax increases on businesses will be passed on to them in the form of higher prices on the goods they need, lower wages, fewer jobs and layoffs.

If any of you watched the O’Reilly Factor last night, I want to set the record straight! While I did not agree with McCain joining forces with the likes of Kennedy and definitely did not agree with the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill that basically gave “Amnesty” to illegal immigrants, I find the spin of Bill O’Reilly more nauseating!

O’Reilly called both candidates liars in their Spanish Ads on his show last night. After researching, I discovered McCain did not lie in his ad and in fact O’Reilly’s accusations against McCain were patently untrue!

The English Translation of McCain’s Ad:

Announcer: Obama and his congressional allies say they are on the side of immigrants. But are they?

The press reports that their efforts were “poison pills” that made immigration reform fail.

The result:

No guest worker program.

No path to citizenship.

No secure borders.

No reform.

Is that being on our side?

Obama and his congressional allies ready to block immigration reform, but not ready to lead.

McCain: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

McCain’s ad was specifically addressing the fact that Obama backed 11th-hour amendments supported by labor, immigrant rights, and clergy groups. Obama voted for a labor-backed amendment” designed to insert a deadly ‘poison pill’ into the bipartisan ‘grand bargain’ on immigration reform.” In the final analysis three amendments were offered to the legislation that would have effectively killed the reform bill – one of which was sponsored by Obama.

Which means Obama attempted to dilute and render the bill useless. Let’s call a spade a spade, McCain’s ad was RIGHT ON! He did not lie!

Personally, I’m glad it failed. I did not agree with McCain on this issue, but he did not lie in his Ad as O’Reilly stated.

My view: I think all illegal immigrants should be put on buses and sent back to Mexico and an electronic fence that electrocutes any who tries to cross it should be erected.

In polls, they look at a sampling of opinions from various demographics...obviously, never from the heart of America, but it’s a sampling nevertheless, even if it's somewhat biased.

On SAB, Sparkie and RealitybasedBob and a few other trolls, are a sampling of the Democratic base in America. With that in mind, it’s clear their posts give us enormous insight into the ignorance rampant in the Democratic Party.

So I would say with this sampling of Democratic thinking that is available to us on SAB, the reality based truth is, liberals have no solid platform of ideas, just trivial empty headed verbiage. Intelligent Americans are never duped by the patently absurd rhetoric of the left leaning liberals! And that intelligent insight from the silent majority is what wins elections!

Remember Ronald Reagan in 1980 and the polls and pundits’ analysis of that historic election! I predict it will be repeated on November 4, 2008!

A Canadian Doctor Describes How Socialized Medicine Doesn’t Work

I was once a believer in socialized medicine. As a Canadian, I had soaked up the belief that government-run health care was truly compassionate. What I knew about American health care was unappealing: high expenses and lots of uninsured people.

My health care prejudices crumbled on the way to a medical school class. On a subzero Winnipeg morning in 1997, I cut across the hospital emergency room to shave a few minutes off my frigid commute.

Swinging open the door, I stepped into a nightmare: the ER overflowed with elderly people on stretchers, waiting for admission. Some, it turned out, had waited five days. The air stank with sweat and urine. Right then, I began to reconsider everything that I thought I knew about Canadian health care.

I soon discovered that the problems went well beyond overcrowded ERs. Patients had to wait for practically any diagnostic test or procedure, such as the man with persistent pain from a hernia operation whom we referred to a pain clinic — with a three-year wait list; or the woman with breast cancer who needed to wait four months for radiation therapy, when the standard of care was four weeks.

Government researchers now note that more than 1.5 million Ontarians (or 12% of that province’s population) can’t find family physicians. Health officials in one Nova Scotia community actually resorted to a lottery to determine who’d get a doctor’s appointment.

These problems are not unique to Canada — they characterize all government-run health care systems.

Consider the recent British controversy over a cancer patient who tried to get an appointment with a specialist, only to have it canceled — 48 times. More than 1 million Britons must wait for some type of care, with 200,000 in line for longer than six months. In France, the supply of doctors is so limited that during an August 2003 heat wave — when many doctors were on vacation and hospitals were stretched beyond capacity — 15,000 elderly citizens died. Across Europe, state-of-the-art drugs aren’t available. And so on.

Single-payer systems — confronting dirty hospitals, long waiting lists and substandard treatment — are starting to crack, however. Canadian newspapers are filled with stories of people frustrated by long delays for care. Many Canadians, determined to get the care they need, have begun looking not to lotteries — but to markets.

They are like a pack of slathering hounds ... aren’t they? ... the mainstream media in its pursuit to tree Sarah Palin on some obscure issue. The MSM thinks it is hot on the heels of an Alaskan snow bunny; but it may be cornering a cougar.

First, it was the Bush Doctrine. Charles Gibson howled at the moon about a doctrine so vague that even John Kerry agrees (except when he disagrees) with it. There was no right answer to Gibson’s multi-angled question to Palin about the so-called “Bush Doctrine” and Gibson knew it.

Then the MSM bayed at Palin for throwing good people out of work and banning books. (Yap. Yap.) Palin’s record as mayor, according to the MSM, consisted of two things: 1. Firing a bunch of really competent people. (If Sarah were a Democrat it would have been seen as “fighting corruption” or “cleaning house.”) 2. Banning Huckleberry Finn. No, she didn’t do either ... but hounds run on instinct not intellect.

Now the MSM is chasing down Sarah’s “fundamentalism.” This will be the big one. This one makes MSM nostrils flare. They catch the scent of a Christian and snarl to themselves, “Got her treed.” The woman not only believes in God, she actually thinks human beings should be free to debate and discuss the differences between creationism, intelligent design, and Darwinism. Maybe even talk about it in public schools!

Yip. Yip. Nip at the ankles. Blood (pant, pant, pant)—is that the smell of blood?

What the MSM does not understand is that there are tens of millions of American voters who believe what Sarah believes. On November 4, this puma will roar.

Eventually a consulting house to multinational corporations agreed to hire me as a research assistant. Like a spy behind enemy lines, I arrived every day at my mid-Manhattan office and sat at my computer terminal, checking the Reuters machine that blinked bright emerald messages from across the globe. …as the months passed, I felt the idea of becoming an organizer slipping away from me. The company promoted me to the position of financial writer. I had my own office, my own secretary; money in the bank. Sometimes, coming out of an interview with Japanese financiers or German bond traders, I would catch my reflection in the elevator doors—see myself in a suit and tie, a briefcase in my hand—and for a split second I would imagine myself as a captain of industry, barking out orders, closing the deal, before I remembered who it was that I had told myself I wanted to be and felt pangs of guilt for my lack of resolve.

We’ve all seen the video where B. Hussein Obama said “My Muslim Faith.” We’ve all talked about the video where he stated he had campaigned in 57 states (and we know there are 57 member states of the “Organization of Islamic Conference”), but there is more and more proof coming out every day that Obama is a Muslim.

Janet Folger’s, Faith2Action, commentary on World Net Daily had this to say:

According to Islamic expert Brigitte Gabriel, author of “Because They Hate, A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America” in her new book, “They Must be Stopped: Why We Must Defeat Radical Islam and How We Can Do It,” there are some very interesting campaign supporters of Barack Obama. Beyond the support of unrepentant terrorist William Ayers, Obama has backing from some other notorious groups, from “al-Qaida to Hamas, to Hezbollah, to Islamic Jihad, to the Muslim Brotherhood. These groups are going out in force for Obama for president, stated Gabriel on the Sept. 3, 2008, Faith2Action radio program (on the “Archives” section of http://www.f2a.org.)

Gabriel claims that the Islamic websites and terrorist organizations are calling Obama the “first Muslim president of the United States. As far as they are concerned, said Gabriel, these groups claim “Obama can say anything he wants to get elected – he is a Muslim.” They claim that if he had renounced his Muslim affiliation declared early in life, he would have changed his Muslim name.

What is interesting is the Islamic world has not renounced Obama for becoming a Christian – a capital offense under Shariah law.

What is perhaps more interesting is that Sen. Barack Hussein Obama has never renounced his Muslim ties. He was too busy pretending they didn’t exist until the documents and eyewitness accounts surfaced recently.

Let’s not play games. By way of review, on national television Obama “misspoke” about “his Muslim faith.” Last year he said the words “there is no god but Allah” were “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset.” Then he said that he’s been to “all 57 states” (57 states coincidently belong to the “Organization of the Islamic Conference").

According to eyewitnesses, he was a mosque-going, Quran-learning, Muslim (according to official documents released by the AP). His friends say so. His principal said so. His own brother said so. He wears the Muslim turban and Somali elder dress for photo-ops, apparently for fun. While he hasn’t renounced any of this, not one Islamic extremist has called for his death as an apostate from Islam.

Obama is right about one thing. Sen. John McCain isn’t talking about Obama’s Muslim faith. But the rest of the country is beginning to.

Remarks by Sen. Barack Obama yesterday leading up to his controversial “lipstick on a pig” jab at the McCain campaign mirror almost word-for-word a political cartoon published last week in the Washington Post.

Much has been made of Obama criticizing McCain’s idea of “change” by stating, “You can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.” But less attention has been paid to Obama’s statements just preceding the lipstick reference, which appear to be an un-attributed copy of the caption in a Washington Post political cartoon by Tom Toles Sept. 5.

Obama stated yesterday:

“‘Watch out, George Bush, except for economic policy, health care policy, tax policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove-style politics – we’re really going to shake things up in Washington!’ That’s not change ... you know, you can put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.”



The similarities between the cartoon and Obama’s speech were first noticed by users at the Free Republic website.

Sarah Palin Emerges As New Ronald Reagan

I’ve been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we’d never see his like again because he was one of a kind.

I was wrong!

Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my dad reborn; only this time he’s a she.

And what a she!

In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my dad’s indomitable spirit and sent it soaring above the convention center, shooting shock waves through the cynical media’s assigned spaces and electrifying the huge audience with the kind of inspiring rhetoric we haven’t heard since my dad left the scene.

In a few words she managed to rip the mask from the faces of her Democratic rivals and reveal them for what they are — a pair of old-fashioned liberals making promises that cannot be kept without bankrupting the nation and reducing most Americans to the status of mendicants begging for their daily bread at the feet of an all-powerful government.

Most important, by comparing her own stunning record of achievement with his, she exposed Barack Obama for the sham that he is, a man without any solid accomplishments beyond conspicuous self-aggrandizement.

As hard as you might try, you won’t find that kind of plain-spoken, down-to-earth, self-reliant American in the upper ranks of the liberal-infested, elitist Democratic Party, or in the Obama campaign.

Sarah Palin didn’t go to Harvard, or fiddle around in urban neighborhood leftist activism while engaging in opportunism within the ranks of one of the nation’s most corrupt political machines, never challenging it and going along to get along, like Barack Obama.

Instead she took on the corrupt establishment in Alaska and beat it, rising to the governorship while bringing reforms to every level of government she served in on her way up the ladder.

Sarah Palin emerges as the new Ronald Reagan

Most voters and Catholics oppose a president who doesn’t know when life begins and would reject legal recognition of same-sex marriage, according to a new poll.

Recently, Barack Obama was asked when he thought life begins, in reference to the issue of abortion. Obama responded by saying that decision was above his pay grade. Knowing that the next president may be able to appoint two or three U.S. Supreme Court Justices, who may be called to make rulings on the issue of abortion, do you support or oppose a president who does not know when life begins?

O’Leary, the former NBC Westwood One talk show host who has authored 11 books and penned political columns for USA Weekend that drew 90 million readers, looked at the potential consequences of an Obama administration and reached the following conclusions:

* Obama will be a radical on the abortion issue as signaled by his blocking of emergency medical aid for babies who survive abortion;

* Obama will attempt to ban the use of firearms for defense by law-abiding citizens;

* Obama will raise tax rates up to 60 percent;

* Obama will push for health care reforms that will let government determine which procedures and operations senior citizens are allowed to have;

* Obama will “transform the U.S. Treasury into the United Nations’ ATM”;

* Obama will choke off America’s domestic energy resources, sending gas, electricity and food prices through the roof;

* Obama will raise the percentage of Americans who pay no taxes at all, from 30 percent to 40 percent – at the expense of those who do;

* Obama will transfer child-rearing responsibility and authority from parents to the federal government with his “0 to 5” program.

In one chapter of “The Audacity of Deceit” called “The Barack Obama Test,” O’Leary gathers results from America’s top pollsters, including Zogby, Rasmussen, Gallup and CNN, demonstrating how Obama’s positions on a broad array of issues are in stark contrast to the values held by the vast majority of Americans.
