I think the Democrats are getting a little over confident already.

Is this over confidence? I found this over on a Democratic Blog. I think the Dems are getting way too Giddy Over Confidence from the Rothernberg Report

By Stuart Rothenberg

Democrats probably don’t have to worry about losing their Senate majority in 2008, but that doesn’t mean next year’s elections aren’t crucial for them.

A strong ’08 could put the party in sight of a 60-seat majority in 2010, and that filibuster-proof majority would change the rules of the game on Capitol Hill.

Last year, Democrats won a stunning 24 of 33 races, which means over the next two Senate cycles they will need to win another 36 seats, out of the 67 that will be up, to give them the magic number of 60. Given the small Democratic classes next year (12) and in 2010 (15), and the fact that Republicans will be defending a total of 40 seats over the two cycles, it’s certainly possible that Democrats can net nine seats to get to 60.

Sixty-seat majorities are possible only when a party has a mega-year that produces a huge class. The Republicans did that in 2002 and put themselves in reach of 60 seats with a good 2004. But last year was a disaster, and now it is the Democrats who have a mathematical chance to hit the all-important 60-seat mark. But first, they must build on their numbers next year.

Five or six of the GOP’s 21 Senate seats up next year already look to be at some risk, and that number could grow if there are key retirements and if President Bush’s problems continue to drag down Republican Party numbers.

This should be enough to bring Republicans out to vote force. If the Defeatocrats can manage to steal 60 senate seats our life as we know it now will change for the worse, maybe forever. With 60 democrats in the Senate you can Kiss Good Bye 1.) The Second Amendment 2.) Welcome gay marriage, and San Fran-sicko values. 3.) With the Dems come over taxation and that will finally kill the economy the dems have been talking down for years. 4.) With the Democrats we know how they despise the Military so you will essentially have no national defense any more. 5.) Marijuana will become legal, college professor nation wide will be happy. 6.) Illegal Aliens will be given a free pass, welcome to America, of course legal citizen will have to pay for these free loading leaches.  Further strapping social services in our country.  6.) 50 Percent of your income will be gone to pay for the free loaders. 7.) With over taxation of the wealthy, aka the business owners of American companies will go over seas to get away from paying the extreme confiscation of wealth, basically causing massive unemployment and a depression.

So why are we Prosecuting Libby?

Seems that we have the wrong guy on trial.
Now the Judge is upset because he isn’t getting the answers that he wanted to hear.
WASHINGTON COMPOST ARTICLE
Journalists Testify That Libby Never Mentioned CIA Officer

By Carol D. Leonnig and Amy Goldstein
Washington Post Staff Writers
Tuesday, February 13, 2007; A03

Six journalists testified yesterday that Vice President Cheney’s former chief of staff, I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, never mentioned an undercover CIA officer to them—and some said they learned about her identity from other administration sources.

As Libby’s attorneys opened their defense in his perjury trial, they argued for a second time that Libby need not take the stand for them to present elements of a defense that his misstatements to investigators were the product of a faulty memory. An irritated U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton said he felt misled and believed Libby would testify.

Testifying as the first defense witness, Washington Post reporter Walter Pincus revealed that then-White House press secretary Ari Fleischer was the first person to tell him, on July 12, 2003, that war critic Joseph C. Wilson IV was married to undercover CIA officer Valerie Plame. His remarks contradicted Fleischer’s testimony as a prosecution witness last month.

Pincus was the first of six reporters to say they spoke to Libby, or were called by him, during a crucial period in June 2003 and early July 2003 but did not learn Plame’s identity from him.

It is during this time that the prosecution says Libby was engaged in a fervent effort to discredit Wilson, who had publicly accused the White House of twisting intelligence he had gathered as it justified the invasion of Iraq. Prosecutors contend that Plame’s identity and CIA post were leaked to leave the impression that Wilson was chosen for a CIA-sponsored mission to Niger because of nepotism. Plame’s name was revealed in a syndicated column by Robert Novak on July 14, 2003.

William M Arkin Slams the American Troops

More anit-Americanism from the Washington Post a company of GE which owns NBC. Interesting Bill O’Reilly has been covering this topic on his show. Some have accused O’Reilly of being anti NBC. I think it’s pretty evident that some of his claims about NBC and the MSM are starting to prove true and come to fruition.

Bill O’Reilly

In my opinion Arkin is a disgrace. The man is a left wing extremist loon that belongs to Greenpeace, Human Rights watch and some how believes he has the right to think he can be an objective military analyst. That is an utter joke in my opinion.
Arkin Blog Article Read this.
These soldiers should be grateful that the American public, which by all polls overwhelmingly disapproves of the Iraq war and the President’s handling of it, do still offer their support to them, and their respect.

Through every Abu Ghraib and Haditha, through every rape and murder, the American public has indulged those in uniform, accepting that the incidents were the product of bad apples or even of some administration or command order.

Sure, it is the junior enlisted men who go to jail. But even at anti-war protests, the focus is firmly on the White House and the policy. We don’t see very many “baby killer” epithets being thrown around these days, no one in uniform is being spit upon.

So, we pay the soldiers a decent wage, take care of their families, provide them with housing and medical care and vast social support systems and ship obscene amenities into the war zone for them, we support them in every possible way, and their attitude is that we should in addition roll over and play dead, defer to the military and the generals and let them fight their war, and give up our rights and responsibilities to speak up because they are above society?

I can imagine some post-9/11 moment, when the American people say enough already with the wars against terrorism and those in the national security establishment feel these same frustrations. In my little parable, those in leadership positions shake their heads that the people don’t get it, that they don’t understand that the threat from terrorism, while difficult to defeat, demands commitment and sacrifice and is very real because it is so shadowy, that the very survival of the United States is at stake. Those Hoovers and Nixons will use these kids in uniform as their soldiers. If it weren’t about the United States, I’d say the story would end with a military coup where those in the know, and those with fire in their bellies, would save the nation from the people.

But it is the United States, and the recent NBC report is just an ugly reminder of the price we pay for a mercenary - oops sorry, volunteer - force that thinks it is doing the dirty work.

The notion of dirty work is that, like laundry, it is something that has to be done but no one else wants to do it. But Iraq is not dirty work: it is not some necessary endeavor; the people just don’t believe that anymore.

I’ll accept that the soldiers, in order to soldier on, have to believe that they are manning the parapet, and that’s where their frustrations come in. I’ll accept as well that they are young and naïve and are frustrated with their own lack of progress and the never changing situation in Iraq. Cut off from society and constantly told that everyone supports them, no wonder the debate back home confuses them.

America needs to ponder what it is we really owe those in uniform. I don’t believe America needs a draft though I imagine we’d be having a different discussion if we had one.

Army Lt Ehren Watada, off to Jail for Refusing to Fight

As A Soldier you can’t pick your battles.

Lt Watada, you signed on the dotted line and you do not have the right to pick which war you want to fight in or what battle you will fight in.

You are a coward and should be put behind bars for a lot longer than 4 years.

I am sure this moron will be the poster boy for the Hollywood left and the anti-American MSM.

The Truth According to Clinton.

I was wondering how Hillary could stand up at the podium with a straight face and say some of the silly crap that she says. Lets refresh everyone memory; her husband Bill Clinton had one of the worst records on terrorism ever. Let look back at the Clinton presidency; we had the first World Trade Center attack, the U.S.S Cole bombing and the African embassy bombings. Lets not forget that Bill Clinton had a chance to get Osama bin Laden and he dropped the ball. In fact Sandy Berger hung up on the CIA when they called to get the go ahead on taking Osama Bin Laden.

Michael Moore is a Big Fat Hypocrite

This one should shock no one. So Michael Moore is a big FAT hypocriteRead The Story This seems to be par for the course for the left. Do as I say not as I do. It sounds as if the Left is more famous for lip service than actual actions.

I don’t own a single share of stock!” filmmaker Michael Moore proudly proclaimed.

He’s right. He doesn’t own a single share. He owns tens of thousands of shares – including nearly 2,000 shares of Boeing, nearly 1,000 of Sonoco, more than 4,000 of Best Foods, more than 3,000 of Eli Lilly, more than 8,000 of Bank One and more than 2,000 of Halliburton, the company most vilified by Moore in “Fahrenheit 9/11.”

Here is some other stuff that will have you miffed.

And it's just one of the startling revelations by Schweizer, famous for his previous works, "Reagan's War" and "The Bushes."

Other examples:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who proclaims her support for unions, yet the luxury resort, the vineyard and the restaurants she partly owns are strictly non-union. While she advocates tough new laws enforcing environmental regulations on the private sector, the exclusive country club she partly owns failed to comply with existing environmental regulations for the past eight years – including a failure to protect endangered species.

Noam Chomsky has made a reputation for calling America a police state and branding the Pentagon "the most hideous institution on earth," yet his entire academic career, writes Schweizer, has been subsidized by the U.S. military.

Barbra Streisand is another proponent of environmentalism, yet she drives an SUV, lives in a mansion and has a $22,000 annual water bill. In the past, she has driven to appointments in Beverly Hills in a motor home because of her aversion to using public bathrooms.

Ralph Nader plays the role of the citizen avenger – the populist uninterested in wealth and materialism, pretending to live in a modest apartment. In fact, he lives in fancy homes registered in the names of his siblings.

The German’s cant be Serious?

We cant take this seriously can we?
Arrest Warrents issued for 13 CIA members
I can’t see our US marshals service or FBI agents handing over CIA agents.

Munich-based Bavarian senior state public prosecutor Christian Schmidt-Sommerfeld said in a statement Wednesday that the warrants had been issued in the last few days. He said the agents are being sought on suspicion of abducting and wrongfully imprisoning al-Masri as well as causing him grievous bodily harm. Al-Masri was allegely abducted in a case of the controversial CIA practice known as “extraordinary rendition,” which involves kidnapping terrorist suspects and flying them to third countries to be interrogated.

The prosecutor’s office refused to reveal the names of the people sought. However Schmidt-Sommerfeld said in a statement that “the personal details contained in the arrest warrants are, according to our current knowledge, aliases of CIA agents.” He added that, “further investigation will, among other things, concentrate on trying to determine the clear identities of the suspects.” Prosecutors did not state the nationalities of the suspects. However, according to German media reports, most of the suspects are resident in the US.

This is refreshing.

The case has strained US-German relations. However it is believed to be unlikely that the US would hand over suspects to be tried in Germany, as German arrest warrants are not valid in the US. Without the real names of the suspects, the warrants are in any case largely symbolic, commentators pointed out.

I agree with these People’s Feelings on Hanoi Jane

I think its disgraceful that they wheeled her out for the anti Iraqi War protest. This is the same Bitch that sat on an anti aircraft gun with the our enemy the Viet Cong. There she was in all of her Glory with other the Anti American hollywood lefties. I guess Fonda wasn't all that happy to see her self hanging in effigy, well that too bad. This idiot has done enough damage to this country.

This really isnt that far from being true.

Sorry Truth

Liberals seem more concerned about the rights of terrorist than the rights of our own citizens and before you start with the that just isn’t true. It is true.

First off the hand wringing left was concerned about the poor terrorist down in Gitmo, how dare they have to travel bound, and blind folded. Then the left wingers were concerned about the poor terrorist not being recognized by the geneva convention. Mind you these are the same folk that cut our heads of when they caputure us.

Lastly, then the left was way too concerned that a terrorist might not be able to make a phone call without the call being it listened to by the NSA. Oh the humanity.

Hillary Vowes to Get Osama Bin Ladien.

I am watching Fox News and someone asked Hillary a question about the war on terror and she made the comment about not getting UBL yet. I always like when they ask a Defeatocrats about the war on terrorism. I can hear the Terrorist laughing in their caves when Clinton or Obama are talking.

Excuse me madam bitch your husband had the chance to get him and they failed to do it. In fact the CIA called and Sandy Burglar hung up on them. The Clinton administration had a chance to put Bin Ladien in the ground and they failed to do it. The American people are not that stupid. Please stop insulting us.

Biden Wrong on Iraq

This is the kind of stuff that makes me and other conservatives very upset the left wing of the defeatocrats. I am also 100% sure that the soldiers fighting for our freedom in Iraq aren’t all the thrilled to hear this stuff from the defeatocrats.

From the impression I get; from reading all of this defeatist crap; is that the Democrats haven’t seen a war they wanted to win or a cause worth fighting for. Lastly, This is not the party most conservatives want in charge of securing our borders or protecting our nation. When it comes to defense of the nation the Dems get an F.

I mean really lets be honest. No doubt war is a messy business. This isn’t Kosovo and where we can bomb the enemy from 30,000 feet, ala Slick Willy.

Add to the fact that Bush started this war and now the liberal wing of the DNC is upset that the war effort has dragged on this long and is starting to pull strings on its liberal senators. This is why we are hearing the shills of the DNC the Ted Kennedy's, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton.

Also the liberal base of the DNC is up set with the democratic senators that gave President Bush the authorization to use force in a Iraq. Now some of these left wing clowns think they can take that authorization back. The Liberal wing of the DNC doesn’t care if we fail in our fight against Terror, they would rather we have a dialog with Al Quaida.

Politicians like Joe Biden with their ridiculous resolutions that have no teeth what so ever are the ones doing the most damage. All these guys are doing is playing to their base. Biden, Kennedy, Hillary Barack Hussein Obama couldn’t be further off the mark. The politicians making these ridiculous statements are the ones that emboldening the Islamafacist terrorist.

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman on Sunday dismissed criticism a resolution opposing a troop buildup in Iraq would embolden the enemy and estimated perhaps only 20 senators believe President Bush ‘is headed in the right direction.’

‘It’s not the American people or the U.S. Congress who are emboldening the enemy,’ said Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., and White House hopeful in 2008. ‘It’s the failed policy of this president _ going to war without a strategy, going to war prematurely.’

The Senate’s top Republican, Mitch McConnell, cast doubt that a clear majority would be able to coalesce behind one of the many competing resolutions on Iraq. ‘I’m not certain any’ will get the necessary votes, he said.

The Democratic-controlled Senate plans to begin debate this week on a nonbinding resolution declaring that Bush’s proposal to send 21,500 more troops to Baghdad and Anbar province is ‘not in the national interest.’

Last week, Biden’s committee approved the measure on a near party-line vote of 12-9.

In reaction, Bush challenged lawmakers not to prematurely condemn his buildup and Vice President Dick Cheney said the administration would proceed even if a nonbinding resolution won Senate approval.

Iran it Speeding Ahead with Nuclear Program

The Axis of Evil Iran still tredging ahead with their Nuke Program. The world can not let this Terrorist state get a nuclear weapon. I trust nothing that comes out of the mouth of the Iranian leader. The man is a liar and knows that if he gets a nuclear weapon he can dictate policy in the middle east. Sitting on top of a huge oil reserve and nukes makes him even more dangerous. I say drop the bombs now.

Iran moving forward with Atomic program
Iran is currently installing 3,000 centrifuges, a top lawmaker said Saturday in an announcement underlining that the country will continue to develop its nuclear program despite U.N. sanctions.

The lawmaker, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, said the installation under way at an Iranian uranium enrichment plant ‘stabilizes Iran’s capability in the field of nuclear technology,’ the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

Three inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency who arrived in Iran on Saturday are scheduled to visit the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz, Iranian state television reported.

Iran last week barred 38 inspectors from the United Nations nuclear watchdog because they come from countries that voted for sanctions on Iran. State television did not give the nationalities of the three inspectors, and the IAEA could not immediately confirm their arrival in Iran.

Iran’s announcement appears to be its latest gesture of defiance toward the international community over its nuclear program. It faces the prospect of additional United Nations sanctions unless it stops uranium enrichment by the end of a 60-day period that ends next month.

The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously in favor of economic sanctions Dec. 23 after Iran ignored an earlier deadline to halt enrichment.

Large scale use of centrifuges makes it possible to produce more enriched uranium in a shorter period.

Enriched uranium is used to fuel nuclear reactors and to make nuclear weapons. Many countries, including the United States, believe that Iran is using its nuclear program as a cover to produce an atomic weapon. Iran says its program is only for generating electricity.

Iranian officials had said in recent weeks that the country was moving toward large-scale enrichment involving 3,000 centrifuges, which spin uranium gas into enriched material.

My prediction is that eventually Iran is going to have to be dealt with. The USA and the rest of the free world cannot let this mad man get a nuclear weapon. My prediction is if the USA doesn’t do something about it Israel will. It would be interesting to see what Hillary or Barrack Hussein Obama would do in this situation. I wonder if they would just ignore the situation or would go to Tehran and have a group hug.

The United States and its allies believe that Iran is using its nuclear program as a cover to produce an atomic weapon. Iran has repeatedly denied the allegations, saying its program is only for peaceful purposes including generating electricity.

International Atomic Energy Association head Mohamed ElBaradei said recently he believed Iran planned to begin work in February on a uranium enrichment facility underground. The subterranean facility is intended to protect the nuclear project from attack.

There has been speculation that Iranian leadership might launch the centrifuges installation at Natanz next month to celebrate the 28th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution that brought the clerical leadership to power. Iran ultimately plans to expand its program to 54,000 centrifuges.

A senior U.S. State Department official warned Iran against accelerating its atomic program.

'If Iran takes this step, it is going to confront universal international opposition,' Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns said on Friday. 'If they think they can get away with 3,000 centrifuges without another Security Council resolution and additional international pressure, then they are very badly mistaken.'

I always think its funny when the Iranians call their atomic weapons program peaceful. Ok, maybe that is so, I hardly think so though, because if your atomic program was really for peaceful purposes; why burying it under of feet under ground.

Hillary Says there are no Do overs in Life.

What a line, too bad we can’t do the 8 years of her husband’s presidencey over.

Hillary on life, no do overs
Earlier, Clinton met with state Democrats at the party’s headquarters.

Attention focused on Iraq and her vote to authorize the use of force ahead of the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003. Presidential rivals such as former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards now say the vote in support was a mistake.

“There are no do-overs in life,” Clinton said. She says Congress received bad information going into the vote and that she would have voted differently given what she knows now.

“As a senator from New York, I lived through 9/11 and I am still dealing with the aftereffects,” Clinton said. “I may have a slightly different take on this from some of the other people who will be coming through here.”

Clinton said her view was that the nation was engaged in a deadly fight against terrorism, a battle that she contends President Bush has botched.

“I do think we are engaged in a war against heartless, ruthless enemies,” she said. “If they could come after us again tomorrow they would do so.”

Clinton has urged a cap to the number of U.S. troops in Iraq, but has refused to go along with suggestions that Congress use its power of the purse to bring the war to a halt.

Funny thing before the war they all agreed there were weapons of mass destruction and they found 500+ shells with chemical weapons in them. Hum, kind of like the old saying how can you tell a Clinton is lying their mouth is moving. I like how they all now can step away from their vote and blame Bush. Tomorrow night we are going to see on Hannity’s show on Fox news that her Husband actually had a chance to capture or kill UBL and the Clinton Administration decided not to to take him. I am sick of the Clinton’s I can’t phamthom another 4-8 years of this moron. Strong defense not at all. I can bet they will want to start a dialog begin with Iran and Syria.

Giuliani a tough conservative sell

Guliani A tough Conservative Sell.

Rudy Giuliani’s star has hardly dimmed in the five years since terrorists attacked his city on Sept. 11, 2001, and he became a national hero — the face of U.S. resolve at a time of tragedy.
The Republican dubbed “America’s Mayor” hopes to ride that celebrity and his record at City Hall to the White House by emphasizing his leadership skills and embracing the strong-on-security, limited-government tenets of the GOP.

“If he can handle the scrutiny, and if events break his way, sure, he can win,” said Fred Siegel, who wrote a Giuliani biography, “The Prince of the City.”

Giuliani’s quest to capture his party’s presidential nomination won’t be easy.

He’s a moderate Republican from New York City, on the wrong side of social issues in the eyes of hard-core conservatives who are a crucial voting bloc in the primaries. His mayoral tenure was marked by criticism of an overzealous police force. He’s linked to the city’s scandal-plagued ex-police chief Bernard Kerik. His thicket of business interests could pose conflicts. He’s been divorced twice.

“I sure have strengths and weaknesses,” Giuliani said recently. “I think that sort of puts me in the same category as just about everybody else that’s running. Are my strengths greater or my weaknesses worse? I don’t know. You have to sort of examine that. That won’t be the issue.”

His challenge will be to remind voters of his take-charge attitude on Sept. 11 and his two-term mayoral reign, at the same time his main rivals — Sen. John McCain of Arizona and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney — no doubt will try to exploit his background and record. For now, both are trying to gauge how much of a threat he may be.

Here is an article: But they don’t get the just of the argument. The man is a Liberal Republican and the GOP can not win with a Liberal Republican because the conservative base will not vote for him.

But first he has to capture the GOP nomination — and the big question is whether he can win over enough Republicans in states like Iowa and South Carolina, among the first nominating contests where voters are solid conservatives and could be turned off by his stance on social issues.

“Giuliani is going to have to convince people that he’s more conservative than his record otherwise would suggest,” said Peverill Squire, who teaches politics at the University of Iowa.

The former mayor’s support for abortion rights, gay rights and gun control conflict with the hard-line positions of the GOP’s right. His supporters say he’s not as liberal on those issues as he’s made out to be. Still, he’s from New York — and that alone rankles the party’s conservative wing.

Rudy is not going to capture the base with Gay Rights and being Pro-abortion. The conservative base is what he needs to get elected and I predict that the religious right will not vote for him.

The only way I could see him getting elected if he got through the primary was the anybody but Hillary Vote.
