Cons desperate for a scandal, fall for hoax
Even the bloated head of the RNC, rush “anybody got any oxy” limpdick fell for it.
Even the bloated head of the RNC, rush “anybody got any oxy” limpdick fell for it.
I mean, all they do is wallow in faux outrage (“THEY’RE OUT TO GET OUR BELOVED FOX NEWS!”), manufactured scandal (“ACORN KILLS BABIES WITH TAXPAYER MONEY!”), and flat out nuttiness (“OBAMA IS THE ANTICHRIST!”)
Not one idea. Nada.
I guess it appeals to the white trash, which we have plenty of in this country. Too bad it won’t improve anyone’s life or worse yet, the lives of anyone’s family.
If you get my drift.
Let’s see, who ran Congress and the White House then? Can’t…... seem….... to…... remember…...
Tell the kids and grandkids to enjoy their debt and the enormous tax hikes they’ll see, along with the corresponding drop in services. They’ll truly be paying and getting little in return, just what you people complained about, even though it wasn’t true!
But hey, you people got to see huge tax cuts for the rich during your lifetime so it was all worth it, right?
LOL
3/16/06 Congress Sets New Federal Debt Limit: $9 Trillion
Faced with a potential government shutdown, the Senate votes to raise the nation’s debt limit for the fourth time in five years.
Four times in 5 years, from 2001-2006.
Let’s see, who ran Congress AND the White House from 2001-2006…....
But wait, there’s more!
When President Bush took office five years ago, the national debt was at $5.6 trillion; since then, big budget surpluses have collapsed into huge deficits, and the debt has shot up nearly 50 percent.
But, but, but I thought the tax cuts were supposed to have us swimming in cash?? I thought republicans were the fiscally responsible people??
And to think, we weren’t deeply mired in an economic collapse back then. You know why? Because the collapse is BECAUSE the republicans had the reins during those years.
Did bush veto any spending bills during those years? NO.
NO NO NO NO NO.
Conservatism defines FAILURE. Conservatism is FAILURE.
Retired General Slams Cheney As “Incompetent War Fighter”
Retired General Paul Eaton, senior adviser to the National Security Network, has hit back hard at Dick Cheney a day after the former vice president criticized the Obama administration again for “dithering while America’s armed forces are in danger.”
“The record is clear: Dick Cheney and the Bush administration were incompetent war fighters. They ignored Afghanistan for 7 years with a crude approach to counter-insurgency warfare best illustrated by: 1. Deny it. 2. Ignore it. 3. Bomb it. While our intelligence agencies called the region the greatest threat to America, the Bush White House under-resourced our military efforts, shifted attention to Iraq, and failed to bring to justice the masterminds of September 11.
The only time Cheney and his cabal of foreign policy ‘experts’ have anything to say is when they feel compelled to protect this failed legacy. While President Obama is tasked with cleaning up the considerable mess they left behind, they continue to defend torture or rewrite a legacy of indifference on Afghanistan. Simply put, Mr. Cheney sees history throughout extremely myopic and partisan eyes.”
Take that.
2/5/07 Bush Budget Projects A Surplus by 2012
And while you’re at it, find out why all those huge tax cuts for the rich since 1980 didn’t have us swimming in cash by now. That’s what republicans since reagan promised us.
What happened?
Stems? Greg? Bueller? Anyone?
You seem to think Presidents can predict the future with certainty. Or is that only when democrats make optimistic predictions?
Yet Obama and Democrats in Congress command significantly more confidence than Republicans on the issue. More than half of Americans say they trust the president to change the system, compared with 37% expressing the same for congressional Republicans.
It gets worse:
Obama strategy: Marginalize most powerful critics
So is the strategy working? White House officials point to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll to argue the answer is emphatically yes. Only 20 percent of those surveyed identified themselves as Republicans, the lowest in 26 years of asking the question.
As bad as that number is, the news about independents is arguably worse. A staggering 83 percent of all independents surveyed said they don’t trust Republicans to make the right decisions.
OUCH!
Burr applauds money from stimulus bill he opposed
RALEIGH, N.C.—North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr applauded some of the money coming from a federal stimulus program even though he opposed the massive spending bill by saying that it would leave future generations burdened with debt.
Burr appeared last week with local officials in Alexander County who were receiving $2 million in federal grants to help build a new fire station, according to the Hickory Daily Record. The money came from a federal stimulus program touted by Democrats and President Barack Obama.
“This is a great thing for this county,” Burr said, according to the newspaper. “We’re not accustomed to federal dollars in that magnitude finding their way to North Carolina.”
Why we let ANY of that money get to the republican south is beyond me. I guess NC deserves something for giving the state to OBAMA.
Great new study that shows how the “30-percenters” live in an alternate reality arising from paranoia, fear and deep-seated hostility.
Here’s the study in a nutshell (and I do mean nutshell):
“These conservative Republican voters believe Obama is deliberately and ruthlessly advancing a ‘secret agenda’ to bankrupt our country and dramatically expand government control over all aspects of our daily lives.”
Sound familiar?
Probably explains this:
Report: Unprecedented Number Of Death Threats Against Obama—And Secret Service Overwhelmed
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Public option gains support: CLEAR MAJORITY NOW BACKS PLAN
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows that support for a government-run health-care plan to compete with private insurers has rebounded from its summertime lows and wins clear majority support from the public.
Here’s why:
Health insurance worries keep rising
(AP) WASHINGTON (AP) - The number of Americans worried about losing their current health care coverage keeps rising, even as President Barack Obama and a Democrat-led Congress strive to extend society’s safety net to cover the uninsured, a new poll has found.
So much for the insurance companies. They pushed things too far and now they’ll pay with their LIVES as they shrink and die.
I am SO loving this.
Never let a crisis go to waste!
What Allinsky rule is that? LOL
It’s a well-established fact that a large part of the conservative pathology is the belief that they are always the underdog. No matter how much power they possess, how much of the government they control, they always want to be seen as outsiders or the maligned opposition.
What’s with that? Does it absolve them of any blame when things go wrong? Seems like they think it does!
Do they raise their children to be like that? Always blaming others, never taking responsibility for their failures?
Well, that does explain a lot about the type of people they turn out to be as adults. A-holes.
Seems like a lot of you conservatives are posting this new paradigm, that we need “real” conservatives, not those fake ones who called themselves conservatives, ran the country for the last 30 years and drove it into the ditch. Those fake ones are now derisively called RINOs because they did such a lousy job of governing.
Did you get a memo or did you all receive a Tweet from the new commenting system? LOL
No, the “real” conservatives would have been successful in creating that no-tax Utopia where we’d be flush with cash! Surpluses forever! Unemployment would be 0%, poverty would be a thing of the past and 99% of us would be living fat and happy, golfing away our days thanks to free market conservatism so elegantly portrayed in Ayn Rand’s blockbuster hit, Atlas Shrugged and all I got was This Miserable Depression. AGAIN.
However, much like the unicorn, the “real” conservative is a mythical creature who lives in the minds of people who won’t let go of a failed ideology.
But whatever it takes for you people to try and distance yourselves from the failure of your policies. I guess if you claim that “real” conservatism hasn’t been tried, it didn’t really fail, right? A bit like closing your eyes and pretending there aren’t monsters under the bed, but well, ok.
I gotta hand it to you. When normal people touch a stove and get burned, they don’t touch it again. You people have the fortitude to touch that stove over and over, hoping and believing that one day, it won’t burn you. LOL
The new system still sucks.
This must be why conservatives don’t get to control anything anymore. Their idea of reform lacks any evidence of improvement.
Maybe you should have let the “free market” determine the new comment system format. Either that or let a room full of chimps design it. The end result would have been the same.
Now I’m not saying all conservatives and teabaggers are like this but they do make up a good proportion of your ranks.
Notice the patriotic imagery, the christian imagery. They’re marching on DC in 1925 because “they want their country back.”
Sound familiar?
We’re playing with fire.
