Don’t accept any ‘health care’ bill that exempts congress from participating.

Contact your Senators, Representatives, neighbors, etc.

Draw a line in the sand and why not?

If it’s good enough for us, it’s good enough for Congress.

Accept nothing less! ! ! ! (more...)

Ironic? Swine Flu threatens Muslims

(CNN)—Two Hajj pilgrims from Iran have contracted the H1N1 virus, according to reports from the country’s official news agency.
December 2008: A Saudi policeman directs pilgrims at Mount Arafat, southeast of holy city of Mecca.

Iran’s official Fars news agency Wednesday reported that a 57-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man who had recently returned from a pilgrimage tested positive for the H1N1 virus, also known as swine flu. This brings Iran’s tally to three cases.

Someone tell them any and all vaccines for the swine flu are, and will be, made from pork.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Roe v Wade intent was to eliminate undesireables

From BlogProf

Question: Are you talking about the distances women have to travel because in parts of the country, abortion is essentially unavailable, because there are so few doctors and clinics that do the procedure? And also, the lack of Medicaid for abortions for poor women?

Ginsburg: Yes, the ruling about that surprised me. [Harris v. McRae – in 1980 the court upheld the Hyde Amendment, which forbids the use of Medicaid for abortions.] Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of. So that Roe was going to be then set up for Medicaid funding for abortion. Which some people felt would risk coercing women into having abortions when they didn’t really want them. But when the court decided McRae, the case came out the other way. And then I realized that my perception of it had been altogether wrong.

World-Wide Government Bubble

It’s not Dems or Repubs - both parties are to blame.

This bubble of government makes all other economic bubbles that have come before seem puny by comparison. Furthermore, this bubble is uniquely world wide. As liquidity is running out and credit is drying up, many nations are in a chain reaction realizing the hot air on which their financial and political systems stand. In any case the dreams of Obama, the RINOs, and the Democrats will become painfully deflated as the era of big government comes to a close.

All bubbles come to an end when the liquidity is no longer available. After a certain point the bubble cannot be stopped by outside forces, but it does stop when the available resources are no longer available. It is like a fire that rages until the fuel is spent.

By all these measures, we have a Government Bubble that is popping.

“In the span of a few weeks we went from pledging to spend $1 trillion to $3 trillion - a commitment which then grew to $5 trillion before ballooning to a staggering $8.5 trillion… As illustrated above, you can see that in today’s dollars, we have already committed to spending levels that surpass the cumulative cost of all of the major wars and government initiatives since the American Revolution.

The rate at which the government is sucking up money has gone exponential. Under the name of “stimulus” and “bailout” they give money they don’t have to their political cronies with only a fig leaf of a cover story. The conservatives are impotent to stop the phenomenon. The Grace Commission clearly sounded the alarm decades ago to no avail.”

Obama’s version of “Transparency”

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama’s ban on earmarks in the $825 billion economic stimulus bill doesn’t mean interest groups, lobbyists and lawmakers won’t be able to funnel money to pet projects.

They’re just working around it — and perhaps inadvertently making the process more secretive.

The projects run the gamut: a Metrolink station that needs building in Placentia, Calif.; a stretch of beach in Sandy Hook, N.J., that could really use some more sand; a water park in Miami.

There are thousands of projects like those that once would have been gotten money upfront but now are left to scramble for dollars at the back end of the process as “ready to go” jobs eligible for the stimulus plan.

Does winning an election mean you never have to explain your past?

On some web boards I frequent it seems like people think nObama’s election means he is correct and all the concern about his past will be forgotten.  The next 2 years and maybe 4 years will be interesting.  It’s a good thing the Dems didn’t win all the congressional/senatorial seats they thought they would.

Life goes on.

Obama ejects Non-believers

Drudge:

NY POST, DALLAS MORNING NEWS, WASHINGTON TIMES TOLD TO GET OUT… ALL 3 ENDORSED MCCAIN

**Exclusive**

The Obama campaign has decided to heave out three newspapers from its plane for the final days of its blitz across battleground states—and all three endorsed Sen. John McCain for president!

The NY POST, WASHINGTON TIMES and DALLAS MORNING NEWS have all been told to move out by Sunday to make room for network bigwigs—and possibly for the inclusion of reporters from two black magazines, ESSENCE and JET, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Despite pleas from top editors of the three newspapers that have covered the campaign for months at extraordinary cost, the Obama campaign says their reporters—and possibly others—will have to vacate their coveted seats so more power players can document the final days of Sen. Barack Obama’s historic campaign to become the first black American president.

MORE

Some told the DRUDGE REPORT that the reporters are being ousted to bring on documentary film-makers to record the final days; others expect to see on board more sympathetic members of the media, including the NY TIMES’ Maureen Dowd, who once complained that she was barred from McCain’s Straight Talk Express airplane.

After a week of quiet but desperate behind-the-scenes negotiations, the reporters of the three papers heard last night that they were definitely off for the final swing. They are already planning how to cover the final days by flying commercial or driving from event to event.
