Is this the change you really voted for? President Obama has only been in office for two months. Now we have HR 1388. The Bill was sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) with 37 others. The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and Democrats voted 321-105 in favor. Next it goes to the Senate for a vote and then on to President Obama.

  This bill’s title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it.

  The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.” That means no church attendance or witnessing.

  Again, is this what America voted for? Here is part of the HR1388 Bill’s wording:

  SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

  Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

  SEC. 125. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.

  (a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities:

  (1) Attempting to influence legislation.

  (2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes.
  …

  (7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.

Deal reached 5 days before he took office

As he empathized with recession-weary Americans, President Obama arranged in the days just before he took office to secure a $500,000 advance for a children’s book project, a disclosure report shows.

The terms of the book deal were disclosed in a Senate financial disclosure report filed Tuesday.

Analysts say there don’t appear to be any rules that would bar such transactions after a president takes office, but it’s unclear whether an incoming or sitting president has ever signed a book deal upon entering the White House.

“I don’t recall any sitting president entering into a book deal,” said campaign finance lawyer Jan Baran, former general counsel to the Republican National Committee. “They all have historically done that after they leave office.

“I recall the only ones who did sign book deals while living there were first ladies, and my recollection is they gave it to charity.”

Apparently this is acceptable when Obama does this, but wasn’t this the same issue that got Newt Gingrich and Jim Wright into some mighty heated waters?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is “un-American.”

The speaker, condemning raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, referred to the immigrants she was addressing as “very, very patriotic.”

“Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?” Pelosi told a mostly Hispanic gathering at St. Anthony’s Church in San Francisco.

“It must be stopped….What value system is that? I think it’s un-American. I think it’s un-American.”

Pelosi said she was invited to the church by Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., as part of his 17-city, cross-country tour called United Families, which he says is intended to put a human face on the immigration debate.

“We think that families are the cornerstone of our society and our nation, and an immigration system should preserve those families, not destroy them,” Gutierrez told FOX News Capitol Hill Producer Chad Pergram on Tuesday.

The congressman is collecting petitions that ask President Obama to “stop the immigration raids and deportations that are tearing our marriages, families and children apart.” He is expected to present those petitions when Hispanic members of Congress meet with the President Wednesday.

After the September 11 attacks, commercial airline pilots were allowed to carry guns if they completed a federal-safety program. No longer would unarmed pilots be defenseless as remorseless hijackers seized control of aircraft and rammed them into buildings.

  Now President Obama is quietly ending the federal firearms program, risking public safety on airlines in the name of an anti-gun ideology.

  Since Mr. Obama’s election, pilots have told us that the approval process for letting pilots carry guns on planes slowed significantly. Last week the problem went from bad to worse. Federal Flight Deck Officers - the pilots who have been approved to carry guns - indicate that the approval process has stalled out.

  Pilots cannot openly speak about the changing policies for fear of retaliation from the Transportation Security Administration. Pilots who act in any way that causes a “loss of confidence” in the armed pilot program risk criminal prosecution as well as their removal from the program.

At an event at Union Station today where Vice President Joe Biden was heralding the $1.3 billion in investments in rebuilding train stations and passenger rails, a microphone picked up one of the former senator’s myriad Senate colleagues addressing him, formally, as “Mr. Vice President.”

That met with Vice President Biden’s standard reply.

“Gimme a f*&$#ing break,” he said, apparently unaware that the microphone was on.

Heh, this guy says what I want to say, but don’t. So, I’ll let him say it for me and when Rob sends me a his polite lil warning ... I can claim I’m just the messenger, so don’t shoot moi.

Let me see if I have this right. I stop making mortgage payments for three months, then I apply for a hardship adjustment to my loan. The government then directs that my loan be adjusted to the new current value of my house at a low interest rate. I can also keep making payments on my house at the current interest rate on the inflated value of the house and pay taxes on the inflated value of my house. I can’t see one damn opportunity for fraud in this at all. Hmmm, let me read some more. Hell, I can quit my job, go on early social security along with my military retired pay and the payments will be even lower. So bottom line is I am better off quitting working, not paying my bills for three or four months and going on a cruise and then come back and claim I am a victim. Does that about cover it? The rest of you fuckers keep working, I like this house. Well there is one small problem, I am currently an employed white guy who has a small bit of pride
