The Belleville Sock Bandit
BELLEVILLE -- The Belleville sock bandit has struck again, police said.
James M. Dowdy, 36, of 7702 W. Main St., was charged with residential burglary, a class X felony. He’s accused of stealing a pair of socks early Monday morning from a victim’s basement.
Dowdy has gained a bizarre infamy for stealing woman’s socks. He has served several prison sentences since 1993 for stealing socks.
About 2:45 a.m. Monday, a victim called police and said that his daughter heard someone in the basement of their house. The victim looked out the window and saw a man crawling out of his basement window.
Police dogs searched the area and led police to Dowdy’s residence.
Inside, police found the victim’s socks, which had been taken from the basement laundry room.
Dowdy is being held in St. Clair County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Also note:
In 2004, Dowdy, received a seven-year prison sentence for taking socks.
In 1997, Dowdy was sentenced to six-years in prison for stealing socks
In 1993, Dowdy spent three years in prison for getting caught with a bag of stolen socks.
Don’t get me wrong .. I believe this guy has some serious psychological issues, but come on, we have rapists and murderers getting less time than this guy.
To me, this demonstrates the effectiveness of rehabilitation.
One, either the guy was never treated and so we need to ask, why not?
Two, if a guy with a sock fetish was treated, but (obviously) non rehabilitatable ... what makes doctors believe much more serious criminals are treatable and safe for being released into our society?
Go figure ...

Karma?
Father Allegedly Shoots Wife, Kidnaps Son, Then Gets Hit by Bus
Here’s a story that defines Karma: A guy shoots his estranged wife, takes their kid and flees to Mexico only to get hit by a bus while crossing the street.
SANTA ANA, Calif. — A desperate five-day search for a 9-year-old boy abducted by his father in Southern California ended in Mexico, where the man died after being hit by a bus and the boy was found safe across town, authorities said Monday.
Ryan Ramos was found alone Sunday in a Mormon church building in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and arrived in Orange County early Monday, where he was reunited with his family, sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
He had been missing since Wednesday, when his father, Lonnie Ramos, 46, allegedly shot his estranged wife during a custody exchange and took off with their child.
Gynnae Ramos, the boy’s mother, was in good condition Monday at Mission Hospital, where she was recovering from gunshot wounds to the chest, stomach and right eye, Amormino said. Her son was taken to her bedside, he said.
Bwahahaha…

Wasington State Judge Tells Verbose Lawyer To Make It Snappy
TACOMA, Wash.—A federal judge in Tacoma has told a lawyer he needs to make it snappy.
Judge Ronald Leighton balked at a 465-page lawsuit that made its way onto his desk. He invoked a rarely used rule that requires a “short and plain statement” of allegations.
The title of the racketeering lawsuit filed by attorney Dean Browning Webb was eight pages long.
The judge issued his order in a limerick:
“Plaintiff has a great deal to say,
But it seems he skipped Rule 8(a).
His Complaint is too long,
Which renders it wrong,
Please rewrite and refile today.”
What wasn’t mentioned was ... we’re talking 465 pages, with an 8-page title.
Good for you Judge Leighton, I certainly don’t blame ya
Unhappy Kid Still In Custody For Attempted Burglary
This troublemaker eleven-year-old is quickly becoming a legend. In 2007, Semaj Booker stole a car and drove it on the highway until the engine blew. Then, he snuck past security onto two flights to get his runaway self from SeaTac to Texas. Booker tried the plane trick again just last month, and now he’s back in court for attempted burglary.
He’s been ordered to remain in custody while the court figures out if he understands the charges and sounds out Booker’s moral compass. Someone give the boy a brownie and a hug, for God’s sake.
HAH! ... NO HUGS for you lil man. IMHO you could use a good ass whuppin’

Budget Fertility Treatments Planned For Africa
Mercy…
First of all, according to a new report from the International Food Policy Research Institute, the number of hungry children in Africa will increase by 3.3 million by 2025 if current policy and investment trends continue. And this doesn’t even take into account the millions of adults who are starving. Yet ... doctors want to introduce a procedure to enhance the population growth. Go figure.
BARCELONA, Spain—Doctors are getting ready to introduce a cheap in vitro fertilization procedure across Africa, where women are sometimes ostracized as witches or social outcasts if they cannot have children.
Millions of dollars go into family planning projects and condom distribution to prevent pregnancies in Africa, but experts said that more than 30 percent of women on the continent are unable to have children. An estimated 80 million people in developing countries are infertile worldwide.
“Infertility is taboo in Africa,” said Willem Ombelet, head of a task force at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology looking into infertility in developing countries. “Nobody has paid attention to this issue, but it is a huge problem and we need to do something.”

Mom Accused Of Denying Son Chemo Treatments
SALEM, Mass A woman has been charged with withholding cancer medication from her 8-year-old autistic son, who prosecutors say likely will die because the cancer has returned.
Kristen Anne LaBrie, 36, of Beverly, was released on personal recognizance Monday after pleading not guilty in Salem District Court to a charge of reckless child endangerment.
And the mother’s reason for doing so?
Her son, Jeremy Fraser, had been in remission from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
He had a good prognosis when first diagnosed, with chances of recovery put at 85 percent to 90 percent, according to a police report. But his chances have dropped to 10 percent since being deprived of medication, authorities said.
Prosecutor Kate MacDougall said “in all likelihood, Jeremy Fraser will not see his ninth birthday.”
According to a police report, Fraser was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2006 and underwent a five-phase regimen of chemotherapy, including drugs that were supposed to be given to him at his house by his mother.Police said LaBrie canceled at least a dozen appointments for chemotherapy treatments. MacDougall also said LaBrie did not fill at least half of the prescriptions her son was given.
In March, Dr. Alison Friedmann, the child’s oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, filed a report of suspected neglect with the Department of Social Services after discovering Fraser’s cancer had returned, something that should not have happened if he was on his medications

Although, withholding treatment is not uncommon, usually it’s done under the guise of religious beliefs and is completely legal. I could also accept the decision not to treat if it was made by a person of legal age, but very often a lot of decisions are made by parents on behalf of their children. To me, this mother’s actions state that she believes her child is not worthy of living.
This mother is responsible for killing her son
I hope Mz. LaBrie will suffer some serious eternal chap-ass for the crime she’s accused of committing. It’s absolutely nauseating and inexcusable.

Obama’s 143 Days of Senate Experience
From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.
143 days—I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.
Hah! I know guys who have spent more time on the toilet than Obama has in qualifying job experience.
Muslims Outraged At police Advert Featuring Cute Puppy Sitting In Policeman’s hat
A postcard featuring a cute puppy sitting in a policeman’s hat advertising a Scottish police force’s new telephone number has sparked outrage from Muslims.
Tayside Police’s new non-emergency phone number has prompted complaints from members of the Islamic community.
The choice of image on the Tayside Police cards - a black dog sitting in a police officer’s hat - has now been raised with Chief Constable John Vine.
The advert has upset Muslims because dogs are considered ritually unclean and has sparked such anger that some shopkeepers in Dundee have refused to display the advert.
Dundee councillor Mohammed Asif said: ‘My concern was that it’s not welcomed by all communities, with the dog on the cards.
‘It was probably a waste of resources going to these communities.
‘They (the police) should have understood. Since then, the police have explained that it was an oversight on their part, and that if they’d seen it was going to cause upset they wouldn’t have done it.’

Uh yeah ‘scuse me peeps… it ain’t possible or necessary to please foreigners wanting to live outside their own country.
It’s a given rule that you adapt to the country you make your new home. For centuries, many foreigners have relocated to new countries and adapted contently and very happy to be accepted… AND without whining of any sorts or expectations of having things changed on their behalf.
Although, there is a quick and quiet way to solve this continuous problem. If you don’t like the culture of the country you immigrated invaded with your cultural racism ... then perhaps moving back to your own country is best for everyone. Adapt or leave, please
