Activists to Target Bank of America’s Credit for Illegals March 10th

The title US Multi-national Corporation is in many ways, like the American Left, a contradiction in terms.  Once MNC’s found out that it pays to outsource tasks like making sneakers in Kenya, microchips in Taiwan, assembling cars in Mexico and customer service lines to India, all semblance at any sort of loyalty or national pride for the USA went by the boards.

Profit is king, in any denomination, and even if the source is illicit and even if the effect is to heap risk of loss onto lawful American consumers.  Remember who paid for the billions of dollars of bad debts generated by massive loans to Brazil way back when?  Who paid for it?  US taxpayers.

Bailing out the failing Chrysler Corporation?  The US Taxpayers.

The S&L Scandal (Keating, Glenn and Webb Hubble et al?)

That’s right—the US Taxpayers.

Now, it takes no special crystal ball to foresee what will happen to the US credit system if a substantial portion of the 12-to-20 million illegal aliens obtain credit cards and then run up huge debts.  These are folks who often have no fixed address, are highly mobile, may be operating under assumed names or even names of lawful Americans.

What happens when they just don’t pay their bills?  How are you going to collect a debt from someone who just isn’t there anymore—whom you don’t even know who they really are or where they are at?

You don’t.

Whose going to be left to eat the loss?  Bank of America?

Ya thinnnnnnk???

No.  My Scientific Wild Ass Guess is that vendors will want to take extra steps to protect themselves against losses.  They’ll start demanding extra identification or charge higher rates, most likely both.

The ACLU will sue and threaten to sue, pounding the table and screaming that these extra measures to defend themselves against the group most likely to defraud them is racist and bigoted (forgetting all the while the members of this class are by definition HERE ILLEGALLY).

So credit will become tighter and the wheels of commerce slower.  But WHO, ultimately, will be handed the bill?

You guessed it, YOU—Mr. and Mrs. American taxpayer.

Check this out.

From WaPo:

A former Iranian deputy defense minister who once commanded the Revolutionary Guard has left his country and is cooperating with Western intelligence agencies, providing information on Hezbollah and Iran’s ties to the organization, according to a senior U.S. official.

Ali Rez Asgari disappeared last month during a visit to Turkey. Iranian officials suggested yesterday that he may have been kidnapped by Israel or the United States. The U.S. official said Asgari is willingly cooperating. He did not divulge Asgari’s whereabouts or specify who is questioning him, but made clear that the information Asgari is offering is fully available to U.S. intelligence…

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that Asgari was in the United States. Another U.S. official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, denied that report and suggested that Asgari’s disappearance was voluntary and orchestrated by the Israelis. A spokesman for President Bush’s National Security Council did not return a call for comment…

Ram Igra, a former Mossad officer, said Asgari spent much of the 1980s and 1990s overseeing Iran’s efforts to support, finance, arm and train Hezbollah. The State Department lists the Shiite Lebanese group as a terrorist organization.

“He lived in Lebanon and, in effect, was the man who built, promoted and founded Hezbollah in those years,” Igra told Israeli state radio. “If he has something to give the West, it is in this context of terrorism and Hezbollah’s network in Lebanon.”

The organization, led by Hasan Nasrallah, is believed to have been behind several attacks against U.S., Jewish and Israeli interests worldwide, including the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut that killed 241 Americans, and the 1994 bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed more than 80 people.

Hezbollah is also aided by Syria, which acts as a conduit for Iranian arms and money, and has a long “interest” in controlling Lebanon.  If the US is targeting that terrorist organization, it is a clear warning to both Iran and Syria (as well as our domestic, leftist Dhimmis) that the war in Iraq is going better than advertised, and that the war against Islamist terrorism will continue as advertised.

Could the Bekka Valley be next?  Stay tuned.

Iranian General Reportedly Defects

This is front page news, right?  Along with the new-found quiet in Baghdad as a result of Bush’s surge, the one US-Based Left has been fighting tooth and nail?

Not?  Gosh, I wonder why?

Even so, in the circles of military intelligence and power politics, this could be Earth-shaking.  It is said two ranks have the most intelligence on what is going on behind the scenes: 1) the Generals who formulate the plans and, 2) the Corporals who type the reports.  Obviously, the purported defector, Brig. Gen. Alireza Asghari, is no corporal, and may have vital information as to Iran’s capabilities and intentions.

We’ll see if the new-found intelligence is put to good use.  One thing is certain, however, the US-based Left will do their level best to discredit the General and discount any warnings he may have for us.

Just you watch.

Legislation to Block Illegals From Obtaining Credit Cards

An idea whose time has come!

WASHINGTON—U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., introduced legislation Monday that would prevent illegal immigrants from receiving credit cards from American financial institutions.
The Photo Identification Security Act would require banks to use what Blackburn calls “secure forms of identification” to obtain credit. In a statement put out by her office, she says that Bank of America “has come under fire in response to reports that it allows illegal immigrants access to credit cards without proper documentation.”

More About the Libby Persecution

SHOOTING ELEPHANTS IN A BARREL
by Ann Coulter

Summing it up:

Lewis Libby has now been found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice for lies that had absolutely no legal consequence.

It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame’s name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department’s Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with “perjury” and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson (news, bio, voting record) was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

This makes it official: It’s illegal to be Republican.

Criminal prosecution is a surrogate for political warfare, but in this war, Republicans are gutless appeasers.

Bush has got to pardon Libby.

The Real Solution to the Problem of Illegal Immigration

Mexican president promises to keep Mexicans at home

MEXICO CITY - Mexican President Felipe Calderon won’t be fighting for migration reform when he meets with President Bush next week. Instead, he will be be spelling out what he intends to do to keep Mexicans at home.
Calderon, who was inaugurated on Dec. 1, has pledged to take 100 actions in his first 100 days in office, many of which represent the first steps toward “curing” Mexico’s long tradition of illegal migration to the U.S.
If implemented, his proposals could help transform Mexico from a labor-exporting country with relatively low growth, productivity and wages into an investment-rich, job-producing economy with better living standards for its 107 million people, nearly half of whom still live in poverty.
“We are laying the foundation for a more just, healthy society with better and more equal opportunities for all,” he said.

[...]

He recently told the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico: “The ideal situation for Mexico is not to have Mexicans migrate.”

Global Warming Labeled A ‘Scam’

By Al Webb
THE WASHINGTON TIMES

LONDON—With a packet of claims that are almost certain to defy conventional wisdom, a television documentary to be aired in Britain this week condemns man-made global warming as a myth that has become “the biggest scam of modern times.”
The program titled “The Great Global Warming Scandal” and set for screening by TV Channel 4 on Thursday dismisses claims that high levels of greenhouse gases generated by human activity causes climate change. Instead, the program suggests that the sun itself is the real culprit.
The documentary, directed by filmmaker Martin Durkin, is at odds with scientific opinion as outlined in a United Nations report in February, which blames mankind for global warming.
In his program, Mr. Durkin rejects the concept of man-made climate change, calling it “a lie ... the biggest scam of modern times.”
The truth, he says, is that global warming “is a multibillion-dollar worldwide industry, created by fanatically anti-industrial environmentalists, supported by scientists peddling scare stories to chase funding, and propped up by compliant politicians and the media.”
Channel 4 says that the program features “an impressive roll-call of experts,” including nine professors, who are experts in climatology, oceanography, meteorology, biogeography and paleoclimatology.
It also says the experts come from prestigious institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Pasteur Institute in Paris, the Danish National Space Center and universities and other schools in London, Ottawa, Jerusalem, Alabama, Virginia and Winnipeg, Canada.
“It’s very rare that a film changes history,” says Martin Durkin, “but I think this is a turning point, and in five years the idea that the greenhouse effect is the main reason behind global warming will be seen as total bunk,” he says.
His program collides sharply with the premise outlined in former Vice President Al Gore’s Oscar-winning documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” which presents a bleak picture of how a buildup in greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide affects the global climate, with potentially disastrous consequences.
“Al Gore might have won an Oscar,” says Mr. Durkin, in a preview of the documentary, “but the film is very misleading, and he has got the relationship between [carbon dioxide] and climate change the wrong way around.”

Organic Cod Dust Up Shows Problem With Environmentalism

The following illustrates one of the problems that I have with the environmentalist movement in its current incarnation.

Organic cod methods not ‘horrific’, says RSPCA

Farmers deny cod isn’t “organic”

(The initial stories containing the accusations about organic cod farming, linked to here, have disappeared.)

Situation: Organic cod is raised in pens set in the ocean in the Shetlands. The fish farmers use lights to simulate near arctic summer light conditions and stave off maturation and subsequent aggressive behaviour of the cod.

Problem 1: Artificial light simulating natural conditions is not considered “organic” by some.

Problem 2: Without the light the cod mature before reaching optimum market size. They also become aggressive when mature which would lead to charges of animal cruelty against the fish farmers.

Option 1: Ditch the lights, keep the “organic” label, harvest the fish younger and smaller and accept the reduction in profits or lose some of the fish when they mature and get aggressive and accept the reduction in profit, and get in trouble with the animal cruelty people.

Option 2: Keep the lights, lose the “organic” label, and lose business because of loss of the “organic” label.

Option 3: Go out of business and make everyone (but the people who wanted to eat some fish) happy.

Some groups have had it in for cod farming from the very beginning. These same groups have done a good job of hamstringing the salmon farming industry.

Here we have two different camps holding the cod farmers over a barrel. The farmers are at the mercy of the organic police and the animal cruelty group. Although, to my mind, the animal cruelty people come off looking a lot more reasonable than the organic police. One word from either camp could ruin the farmers. You get the impression that they would have no problem doing so.

This all shows a disregard for those who try to make a living by feeding their fellow man. The current incarnation of the environmentalist movement seems to have no connection to realty. They know their pet cause. They know what they want every one else to stop doing. But they don’t seem to know or care how their demands would effect the lives of the average Joe trying to provide for their families.

If environmentalists really want to capture the support of the general public they need to come up with some solutions to their perceived problems that aren’t going to make us chose between the environment and our families and our abilities to provide for them.

Man Robs Bank Carrying torch - (presumably not concealed!)

When fire is outlawed, only outlaws will have fire!

A man swinging a flaming torch robbed a Fairview bank Monday afternoon, threatening to set fire to people and burn down the building if his demands weren’t met.

Late Monday, law enforcement authorities were still looking for the masked robber who made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

CFO of USA, Inc. says “We’re screwed.”

A 60 Minutes interview with David Walker

David Walker is an accountant, the nation’s top accountant to be exact, the comptroller general of the United States. He has totaled up our government’s income, liabilities, and future from surpluses to huge deficits and our loobligations and concluded the numbers simply don’t add up. And he’s not alone. Its been called the “dirty little secret everyone in Washington knows” – a set of financial truths so inconvenient that most elected officials don’t even want to talk about them, which is exactly why David Walker does.

“I would argue that the most serious threat to the United States is not someone hiding in a cave in Afghanistan or Pakistan but our own fiscal irresponsibility,”

“I’m going to show you some numbers…they’re all big and they’re all bad,”

He calls it a fiscal wake up tour, and he is telling civic groups, university forums and newspaper editorial boards that the U.S. has spent, promised, and borrowed itself into such a deep hole it will be unable to climb out if it doesn’t act now. As Walker sees it, the survival of the republic is at stake.

“What’s going on right now is we’re spending more money than we make…we’re charging it to credit card…and expecting our grandchildren to pay for it. And that’s absolutely outrageous,” he told the editorial board of the Seattle Post Intelligencer.

“We suffer from a fiscal cancer. It is growing within us. And if we do not treat it, it could have catastrophic consequences for our country,” Walker replies.

The cancer, Walker says, are massive entitlement programs we can no longer afford, exacerbated by a demographic glitch that began more than 60 years ago-- a dramatic spike in the fertility rate called the “baby boom.”

“If nothing changes, the federal government’s not gonna be able to do much more than pay interest on the mounting debt and some entitlement benefits. It won’t have money left for anything else – national defense, homeland security, education, you name it,” Walker warns.

“The prescription drug bill was probably the most fiscally irresponsible piece of legislation since the 1960s,” Walker argues.

Asked why, Walker says, “Well, because we promise way more than we can afford to keep. Eight trillion dollars added to what was already a 15 to $20 trillion under-funding. We’re not being realistic. We can’t afford the promises we’ve already made, much less to be able, piling on top of ‘em.”

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke validated much of Walker’s take on the situation at congressional hearings this year, and so did ranking Republicans and Democrats on the Senate Budget Committee. Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota is the Chairman.

Sen. Conrad thinks David Walker is “providing an enormous public service.”

Asked if he agrees with Walker’s figures and his projections, Sen. Conrad says, “I do. You know, I mean we could always question the precise nature of this projection or that projection. But, that misses the point. The larger story that he is telling is exactly correct.”

Conrad acknowledges that most people in Washington are aware how bad the situation is. “They know in large measure here, Republicans and Democrats, that we are on a course that doesn’t add up,” the senator tells Kroft.

PETA Cooks Gore’s Goose!

Looks like Gore has another way to show his hypocrisy! Can you imagine the Incredible Bulk making a sacrifice and passing up a juicy pork chop, porterhouse steak or prime rib?

The Most ‘Inconvenient Truth’: According to U.N., Animals Raised for Food Generate More Greenhouse Gases Than All Cars and Trucks Combined

Norfolk, Va. — This morning, PETA sent a letter to former vice president Al Gore explaining to him that the best way to fight global warming is to go vegetarian and offering to cook him faux “fried chicken” as an introduction to meat-free meals. In its letter, PETA points out that Gore’s film, An Inconvenient Truth—which starkly outlines the potentially catastrophic effects of global warming and just won the Academy Award for “Best Documentary”—has failed to address the fact that the meat industry is the largest contributor to greenhouse-gas emissions.

YOU CAN’T BE A MEAT-EATING ENVIRONMENTALIST

Father of Global Warming Demands Paternity Test!

Okay! He may not be the Father of Global Warming, but he was an early advocate!
Claude Allegre, one of France’s leading socialists and among her most celebrated scientists, was among the first to sound the alarm about the dangers of global warming.

“By burning fossil fuels, man increased the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which, for example, has raised the global mean temperature by half a degree in the last century,” Dr. Allegre, a renowned geochemist, wrote 20 years ago in Cles pour la geologie..” Fifteen years ago, Dr. Allegre was among the 1500 prominent scientists who signed “World Scientists’ Warning to Humanity,” a highly publicized letter stressing that global warming’s “potential risks are very great” and demanding a new caring ethic that recognizes the globe’s fragility in order to stave off “spirals of environmental decline, poverty, and unrest, leading to social, economic and environmental collapse.”

In the 1980s and early 1990s, when concern about global warming was in its infancy, little was known about the mechanics of how it could occur, or the consequences that could befall us. Since then, governments throughout the western world and bodies such as the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have commissioned billions of dollars worth of research by thousands of scientists. With a wealth of data now in, Dr. Allegre has recanted his views. To his surprise, the many climate models and studies failed dismally in establishing a man-made cause of catastrophic global warming. Meanwhile, increasing evidence indicates that most of the warming comes of natural phenomena. Dr. Allegre now sees global warming as over-hyped and an environmental concern of second rank.

His break with what he now sees as environmental cant on climate change came in September, in an article entitled “The Snows of Kilimanjaro” in l’ Express, the French weekly. His article cited evidence that Antarctica is gaining ice and that Kilimanjaro’s retreating snow caps, among other global-warming concerns, come from natural causes. “The cause of this climate change is unknown,” he states matter of factly. There is no basis for saying, as most do, that the “science is settled.

To Counteract GOP Pedophile Power Abuser, More Illegal GOP Power Abuse

Original here.

So, we all remember the whole Mark Foley thing right? The GOP tried to spin it as a, “the demos are anti-gay” thing, but then they quickly realized pedophilia is not the best platform for a winning ticket. At any rate, Foley was clearly abusing his position of power to make sexual advances towards underage male pages in the US Senate and had been for some years under the watch of at least a few other fellow GOP senators and underlings. Unfortunately for the GOP, the disclosure of Foley’s pedophiliatic power abuse came in close proximity to the election and cost the GOP countless votes. It is now coming to light that some New Mexico GOP senators were attempting to balance out the damage caused by Foley’s power abuse with a little more power abuse of their own. When I read the following, the old maxim, “Its like pouring gasoline on a fire” came to mind, but I guess they haven’t heard that one down in New Mexico.

WASHINGTON — A fired federal prosecutor told a Senate committee Tuesday that he felt “leaned on” and sickened as Republican Sen. Pete Domenici hung up on him in disgust last fall when told that indictments in a corruption case against Democrats would not be issued before the fall elections.

Ouch. I guess they ‘aborted’ a bunch of US Attorneys because they are about to replace them with hardliners without due process as allowed in the ‘constitutional’ Patriot Act. Turns out the real reason they fired them was because they were not willing to throw their ethics out the window and turn their offices into political hit-man clubs.

“He said, ‘Are these going to be filed before November?’” former federal prosecutor David Iglesias, one of eight U.S. attorneys summarily fired in recent months, told the panel. “I said I didn’t think so. And to which he replied, ‘I’m very sorry to hear that.’ And then the line went dead.”

Iglesias said he received the call at home on Oct. 26 or 27th and that it lasted two minutes, “tops.”

And, it turns out, yet another New Mexico senator was also out trying to turn the US Attorney’s office into a political hit-man club too.

Iglesias told the panel he received a call from Wilson about two weeks earlier, in which she asked him about sealed indictments — a topic prosecutors cannot discuss. Wilson’s question “raised red flags in my head,” Iglesias said.

“I was evasive and nonresponsive to her question,” Iglesias told the panel, saying he talked generally about why some indictments are sealed. “She was not happy with that answer. And she said, ‘Well I guess I’ll have to take your word for it.” The call ended almost immediately, Iglesias said.

Clearly this US Attorney is just a law abiding chump and has no place in the GOP.

Wilson said the department dismissed Iglesias “without input from me.” Her telephone call was not politically motivated, she said, and the conversation was “brief and professional.”

“If the purpose of my call has somehow been misperceived, I am sorry for any confusion,” Wilson said.

We don’t misunderstand at all. You were professionally attempting to get an appointed person, in a position of responsibility directly related to the preservation of justice (something I know HG cares about), to break the law by disclosing the contents of sealed documents to you in an effort to win an election. No misperceptions here.

The only question left is: Why don’t we have capital punishment for the fuckers that totally abuse the trust and responsibility that comes with certain jobs like Senator? These people are our lawmakers and it is more than apparent that they don’t give a shit about the law. This attempt to replace the people who won’t break the law on their behalf is wholly unconstitutional and without due process. Gonzales has said they won’t replace them without due process, but we all know he’s a little fucking liar too. I recall clearly the time when he said he would disclose all the details of the domestic spying program, a meeting was held with lots of important people, and he stonewalled them all, the exact opposite of what he said he would do.
...and people around here act like my credibility is shot!
