Free Speech: YouTube has agreed to scrub material critical of radical Islam after Pakistan’s religious police crashed the popular site in protest. Score another one for the Islamofascists.

The worldwide outage — and anti-speech outrage — occurred after Pakistani authorities ordered local Internet service providers to block access to a YouTube video they deemed “highly provocative and blasphemous.”

The offending video was a trailer for a Dutch documentary set for release next month that shows in detail how Islamic doctrine is an “inspiration for intolerance, murder and terror.”

Experts say the method used to block the site leaked onto the Internet and caused traffic to YouTube to be directed into a kind of “Web cul-de-sac in Pakistan,” as UPI described it.

The method involved Pakistani ISP operators “deliberately putting false information out there” that diverted traffic to the site across the globe for hours, said Daniel Castro of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, a nonpartisan research group in Washington.

In other words, the Pakistani government essentially committed an act of cyberterrorism. Islamabad denies it, claiming its crashing of YouTube was “not intentional.”

However, “we have determined the source of these events was a network in Pakistan,” YouTube said in a statement. “We are investigating and working with others in the Internet community to prevent this from happening again.”

Meantime, YouTube is giving in to its blackmailers in Pakistan by removing “highly profane and sacrilegious footage” that was offensive to Islam, including cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad.

Their latest round of censorship, shocking in its global scale, is more evidence that the West is in the throes of an epic clash over ideas and cultures — one closed and medieval, the other open and progressive.

Acquiescing to the demands of theocratic blackmailers is no way to bring the other side into the light of the modern world. It only emboldens them.

After tarring and feathering and discriminating against the Duke lacrosse members at a critical juncture in their college careers and lives, the Duke Administration has gone to court trying to shut down the players’ website, which contains the pleadings in their recently filed case against the university and a compendium of press coverage about the case.

The website seems well within ethical bounds and the pleadings by the University cite no authority to suggest otherwise. As K.C Johnson observes:

[E]thics rules specifically allow attorneys to make public statements countering negative publicity “not initiated by the lawyer or the lawyer’s client.”

Given the copious negative statements by Duke officials and especially by Duke faculty members about the unindicted lacrosse players, it’s hard to imagine a clearer example of negative publicity “not initiated by the lawyer or the lawyer’s client.” It’s not hard, however, to imagine why Duke would want to ensure that the lawsuit receives as little publicity as possible.

On the assumption that the local courts have finally grown chary of giving Duke assistance in further depriving these students of their constitutional rights, I assume that the university’s request will be denied, and draw your attention to this conduct and the team’s website to help thwart this and further such nonsense by making it utterly counterproductive..

This is a case which urgently needs the disinfectant benefits of the sunshine of public exposure.  Follow the links and judge for yourself.

MC-CAIN STRATEGY IN THE PRESIDENTIAL BATTLE OF THE AMERICAN CULTURAL WAR

McCain, with Neo-Lib Hillary now condemned to be burnt at the stake by the Kennedy Liberals, is the presidential candidate desperately supported by both the Podhoretz Neo-Cons and Leiberman Neo-Libs.  His puppeteer, that shrewd political trickster Charlie Black, to compensate for insane McCain’s core values being notoriously subversive to traditional Reagan Conservatism and Kennedy Liberalism, shall presumably employ deceitful propaganda, in a suicidal attempt that will culminate with McCain being justly honored by a date with a Democrat and Republican firing squad.

This wonderful strategy will be to miraculously transform Neo-Con McCain into an acceptable Conservative, by hook and by crook. He has opposed the Republican attempt to lower taxes, supported child sacrifice by abortion, rebuked and ridiculed Christian sects, suppressed freedom of speech on the internet, supported illegal immigration from Mexico, instigated the illegal sacrifice of the wealth and blood of the American People for the sole benefit of Israel, and has accomplished nothing noteworthy in his long, contentious, and divisive public career. 

So the challenge will be to conceal his insane disloyalty to his Christian God, his Constitution, and his Republican Party by incessant propaganda portraying him as the most trustworthy and competent Conservative candidate.  Endorsements by Judas ministers and turncoat Conservatives will be bought with campaign promises. Freedom of speech on the internet will be suppressed by continuous harassment. Slanderous attacks will be made against Obama’s religion, patriotism, and political philosophy.  Anti-Semite baiting attacks will be made against selected religious and political groups within Obama’s broad spectrum of supporters.  Political collusion among millions of Neo-Cons and Neo-Libs will be orchestrated by leading political commentators in the news and entertainment media.

But this strategy, based on the assumption that the majority of trustful Americans are sufficiently gullible, is rather foolish because leading Conservatives and Liberals have long recognized that their enemies in the American Cultural War are the Neo-Cons and Neo-Libs entrenched in the government, colleges, schools, and news and entertainment media.  Their incessant subversion of traditional Christian culture and Constitutional government has been intensifying since the McCarthy Era, when politically defeated as Marxists they evolved into crypto-Marxists, Neo-Marxists known as the Neo- Conservatives and the Neo- Liberals, to resume their relentless ideological struggle to gain social and economic power over the America People. 
 
Presently, it is in the noblest interests of the Reagan Conservatives and Kennedy Liberals to fight shoulder to shoulder in this great election presidential battle of the Cultural War for the defeat of Hillary and McCain, the expulsion of the Neo-Cons and Neo-Libs, and the patriotic reformation of their endangered traditional Christian culture and Constitutional government.

There are two strategies by which the Neo-Cons and Neo-Libs shall be defeated. The first is by a Holy Alliance, whereby both Reagan Conservatives and Kennedy Liberals vote for either Obama or Ron Paul. The second is by Kennedy Liberals voting for Obama; and Reagan Conservatives voting for Ron Paul, Huckabee, and Romney as their write-in candidates.  The first strategy offers the additional benefit of quickly re-unifying Republicans and Democrats spiritually, under their shared love of Christian culture and Constitutional Law, against the insidious Neo-Cons and Neo-Libs who have so bitterly divided them.

The Dallas Morning News has endorsed Mike Huckabee over John McCain; but wait until you hear why !

The paper’s editors wrote in Sunday’s edition that, as a result of his [Huckabee’s] social and religious conservatism, the former Arkansas governor is on “The wrong side of abortion, gay rights and other key issues”, but Huckabee is still committed to helping the poor and middle class, is “good on the environment” and not bound by ideological litmus tests.

The Dallas Morning News went on to call Huckabee “the future of the republican party” and in a breathtaking break with reality declared that

Internal review: 20 of Goeglein’s columns plagiarized

An internal investigation of columns submitted to The News-Sentinel by White House aide and former Fort Wayne resident Timothy Goeglein has revealed many more instances of plagiarism than initially reported.

So far, 20 of 38 columns published from 2000-08 have been found to have portions copied from other sources without attribution. Goeglein has submitted unsolicited, or guest, columns to The News-Sentinel for more than 20 years. At no time was he paid for them. Editor Kerry Hubartt said Friday the paper would no longer publish Goeglein’s writings.

A special assistant to President Bush since 2001, Goeglein was first accused of plagiarism over a guest column about education The News-Sentinel published on its editorial page Thursday. The plagiarism was discovered by Nancy Nall, a former News-Sentinel columnist who revealed her findings on her blog, nancynall.com.

Seems like the good folks on the left have settled on a Kiss Of Death strategy to scuttle John McCain. If they can drive a wedge between him and his badly-needed base, he cannot win.

Duluth Minnesota—North Dakota scored twice in the final minute of play in each of the first two periods to extend its unbeaten streak to a nation-leading 14 games (13-0-1) and hand the Bulldogs their third straight loss (the first time that has happened all season). The Sioux (22-8-2; 17-7-1), who were 1-for-6 on the power play, got goals from T.J. Oshie and Chris VandeVelde.

If you like to watch a goaltenders battle this game was one for the classics. The goaltenders in this game were nothing short of being absolutely amazing. UMD goalie and Alex Stalock and Fighting Sioux Jean-Philippe Lamoureux were a pair of brick walls. Personally I like to see a little more scoring with my hockey but a win is a win.

Lamoureux’s play this weekend helps make his case why he should be given strong consideration for the HOBEY BAKER  With today’s game Lamoureux is tied for 1st over all nationally in goals against average 1.70 and and third in save percentage of 933.

The game was not without a high cost as super freshman Evan Trupp suffered a lower leg injury looking at the tape I can not see what caused the injury but it didn’t look good. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is gone for the season. I hope I am wrong on that.

~According to UMD blogger Running with the Dogs UMD has gone 181 minutes with out a goal.

~With the shutout today by Lamoureux and the Sioux have held the opposition to zero goals 6 times on the season.

~During the 14 game unbeaten streak the Sioux have keep the opposition to 1 or fewer goals 11 times, that is pretty good defense in anybody book.

~UND known around the league as being a tough team has not taken a major penalty in 180 minutes.

~ Word for the week is - Donnybrook: A fight. Hockey announcers seem to be the only people who still use this term. In college hockey, fighting is strictly prohibited, and a player can earn a multi-game suspension for participating. But that doesn’t stop announcers from dubbing just about any instance of pushing and shoving on the ice a donnybrook.

This story has been reported on here at SA, about Prince Harry, but this follow-up story tells you more about a real man that understands duty, honor, country and what it means to endure the sufferings and sharing the risks of his band-of-brothers. He gets my respect, my admiration, a salute and a wish that he is allowed to get back with his fellow soldiers.

Harry will be gutted at having to come back two weeks early but that will be nothing compared with the devastation he would feel if this was to be the only chance he ever gets to fight for his country.

staying at the Household Cavalry barracks in Windsor for any extended period of time while the rest of his regiment is away fighting is not a prospect that will please Harry, who is desperate to do something meaningful with his life.

A friend said: “He was going mad at Windsor and got to the point where he felt totally useless.

“I spoke to him a few times and he sounded incredibly down.”

This was no game by Prince Harry, he was serious, he wants to be a professinal soldier and a regular guy, not some show horse for Britain! My best to you Harry! You are a true soldier!

Will Franklin of Willisms (and son of site regular Zsa Zsa) writes about one of his favorite topics--domestic net migration frequently at his site.  I want to take it a step further with a discussion of demographics and education in California.

First, let’s take a look at the most recent US Census data on net domestic migration:

New York, in contrast, had the largest annualized net outmigration during the period, averaging 183,000. California (99,000) and Illinois (72,000) were ranked second and third, respectively…

California experienced the largest numerical change in average annual net migration between the 1990s and the 2000–2004 period. While the state continued to experience net outmigration between 2000 and 2004, the average annual net outmigration of 99,000 was smaller than the comparable figure of 221,000 per year during the 1990s.

Net domestic migration is one part of the population picture.  This means that in the 1990’s, 2.2M more US Citizens moved from the state of California than to the state of California.  From 2000-2004, another 500,000 moved and projecting the last three years that the trend remains, that is 3M more citizens leaving California than moving there.

The numbers grow even more ominous when you factor in birth rates.  Studies on fertility rates show that for Whites, Blacks and Asians, the number of births per woman is below the replacement rate of 2.1:

As shown in Figure 2, Latinas have much higher fertility rates than other ethnic groups in California. As of 2005, the total fertility rate for Latinas in California was 2.9 children per woman, substantially higher than for Asians, African Americans, and whites, who all had fertility rates well below the replacement level of 2.1.

According the the Census, the total population of California was 29.75M in 1990.  Of that number, 7.6M were Hispanics and 20.5M were White.  Yet from July 1, 2000, to July 1, 2007, the population of California increased from 34M to 36.5M according to the US Census figures. Of the 34M in 2000, 20.1M were white and 11M were Hispanic.

As I posted earlier today on Neiman’s Homeschooling thread, that leave California in an interesting predicament.  California must test their high school students in Spanish when assessing their scholastic proficiency for No Child Left Behind:

Try this shit on for size from California’s annual No Child Left Behind Tests:

Between spring 1999 and spring 2005, districts were required to administer the SABE/2 to Spanish-speaking English learners (ELs) in grades two through eleven who were enrolled in California public schools fewer than 12 months when the tests were administered. Districts had the option of testing Spanish-speaking English learners who were enrolled in a California public school 12 months or more when the tests were administered. The tests were administered between March 15 and May 14 of each year. Students in grades two through eleven were tested in Spanish reading and language, as well as mathematics in Spanish. Students in grades two through eight were also tested in Spanish spelling. Students were required to take the SABE/2 in addition to taking the required state achievement tests in English for their grades.

Here is what the results show:

For students administered the test as second graders, the average student math score is 69%.  For those tested as twelveth graders, that score drops to 31%.

These figures are directly from California’s testing website. 

For junior in high school, only 35% score at proficient in English, 40% score proficient in Math, 28% in science, and 33% in history.

The numbers are closer to 20% in Los Angeles County and San Bernadino County.

In every sense and at every grade level, Hispanics perform far worse in Math, Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science than their White counterparts, even when those exams are administered in Spanish to compensate for language differences.  Whites are leaving California in droves and White women are having children at well below the replacement rate.  These problems of California schools working so hard to educate Hispanic children in most public schools are dragging down the test scores and performance of their white peers.  Pockets of affluence and educated kids still do well, as do most asians, but these are in large part because these kids are isolated due to demographics and home prices from the poorer Hispanics.

In light of the recent home schooling decision, it is becoming apparent--if you are White, affluent, and desire for your children to be educated, you need to move your ass out of California or into a neighborhood so excluse and isolated that they are shielded from the major demographic problems going on.
