The Yankees continued their winning ways tonight, blowing out the Orioles at Camden Yards.
Alfonso Soriano got things rolling with a home run on the first pitch of the game, his 31st of the year. He went on to finish the evening 4-5 with 3 RBI's, 3 runs and 2 dingers.
Baltimore tied things up in the bottom of the third inning with Raines Jr. scoring on a fielder's choice after hitting a double to left field. This would be Baltimore's only run for the night.
Things got ugly for Baltimore in the top of the 4th inning. Jason Giambi hit a solo shot to center field to lead off and it was quickly followed up by a 3-run shot from Aaron Boone and a two run shot from Soriano. The Yankees ended up with 6 runs on 5 hits in the inning.
In the 6th inning Garcia, Soriano and Jeter all singled to load the bases and were then brought home by a double from Jorge Posada. Posada was then brought around by a single from Matsui before the inning ended.
Torre let the bench get some at-bat's towards the end of the game and Enrique Wilson responded with a solo shot in the 8th adding another run. Boone remained in the game and added another run on a solo home run in the 9th.
Torre rested Bernie Williams tonight.
Its nice to see everybody hitting again. Hopefully the team will stay hot heading into the playoffs.
