Brett Narloch at Taking Back ND doesn't think so:

Pundits and military experts all seem to agree that Israel has the right to retaliate for being attacked by terrorists. I agree that they do. I think the US should stand with Israel and defeat the cowards from Palestine, Iran, and Syria. That being said, those same pundits and military experts say something like this: “Yes, Israel has the right to retaliate for being attacked. If Mexicans started firing upon the US, we’d fire back.” In this bloggers honest opinion, that fact is completely wrong. Consider this:

- On April 18, 1997, a pair of US Customs Service inspectors were wounded in a gun battle at the Calexico border station. That same day, an illegal alien smuggler attempted to run down border agents with his van.

-On May 11, 1997, Border Patrol agents and sheriff’s deputies were fired upon by a vehicle they stopped for speeding.

-On May 17, 1997, a Border Patrol officer was shot in the face by a sniper with an AK-47 near the San Ysidro border-crossing.

-On May 23, 1997, a pair of Border Patrol agents came under sniper fire.

-June 1, 1997, Border Patrol agents were fired upon.

-By March 2000, “Border Patrol and Immigration and Naturalization Service agents began to voice what many believed were legitimate concerns abotu ‘armed incursions’ into the United States from Mexico-based assailants; they reported that heavily armed Mexican army units and federal police, called federales, had infiltrated US territory and fired upon them, in some cases because… Mexican drug lords had put prices on the heads of American law enforcement agents along the border.”

Did the US launch a strike against Mexico? Nope.
