I’ve been seeing headlines like this one a lot lately:

Troop deaths appended to headlines over stories that are only semi-related.  It’s almost like the headline writers are counting down to the media orgy that will be the 3,000th American military death in Iraq.

My question is, why aren’t terrorist casualties reported in the same fashion?  Have you ever seen a headline reading “Saddam On Trial; 30 Terrorists Killed?” Why are only our deaths given a lot of media attention and not the deaths of our enemies?  We are, after all, killing 20 - 30 terrorists for every one of our troops they manage to kill.

Is that not something the American public would be interested in?  When our troops engage the enemy and kill a lot of them, wouldn’t Americans like to hear of that military success?  Apparently not, because the media deems such things un-newsworthy.

Which is a total joke, if you ask me.
