Fiddling away while we should be drilling for more domestic oil:

The group of about 30 Republicans, including Reps. Jeb Hensarling of Dallas and Mike Conaway of Midland, is hoping the sit-in will pressure House Democrats to support Republican policies aimed at lowering gasoline prices.

“We shouldn’t be on vacation until we vote on producing our own American energy,” Mr. Hensarling said on a Monday afternoon conference call. “Nancy Pelosi fears that, maybe because she knows there are enough Democrats who would vote in favor of it.”

Years of obstruction by Earl Pomeroy and his ilk has led to this unsustainable price of gasoline.  Now that it’s reached a boiling point the public is ready in favor of more drilling by two to one.  I’d say North Dakotans support more drilling even more strongly than that.

In response to this need, Earl Pomeroy voted to take August off.  What I find really interesting is in a Google news search I don’t find any evidence that he’s in-state.  Is Earl hiding out in another state so he doesn’t have to answer why his party has led us to $4.00 gas?
