I’m not talking about movies that are so bad they’re good.  I’m talking about a movie that’s so bad it’s awful.  The kind of movie that you wish you were at the Dentists for some drilling.

My nominee would be Duel, “staring” Dennis Weaver (yes McCloud) and surprisenly directed by Steven Speilberg.  If I was handing out an Oscar I’d roast him for this one.

The plots fairly simple.  You’ve got a unlikeable (something Dennis Weaver excels at) driving country highways while a madman semi-truck driver tries to run him down.  We never know why he wants to do this.  We never know why Dennis can’t lose him.  And we never have any other characters to speak of in the movie except for Dennis Weaver.  Did I mention that he’s unlikeable?

Not only did I watch this movie on the late show at the lake before we have cable but I watched in a hotel room in London for some odd reason.  I really have to wonder what the Brits thought of us after watching this piece of trash.
