Yesterday morning as I drove in to work, I was listening to Curtis Sliwa on NYC's WABC radio. Sliwa, who has been bashing away at the Transit Workers Union's demands over the last week or so, came up with a gem of an idea.

As you may or may not know, from 7AM to 11AM for the duration of the strike, no cars are allowed below 96th street in Manhattan unless they are carrying at least 4 occupants.

Sliwa ran with this, joking that perhaps all the illegal aliens assembled around the metropolitan area looking for work as day laborers could make some nice coin during the strike by selling their services as car occupants for people trying to drive into the city.

Can't deport 'em (especially in illegal-friendly NYC). May as well make 'em useful, I guess.

Heck, maybe the MTA should hire them to run the trains and buses while the union schmucks continue to strike....
