By Bing Crosby.  I find the World War Two Christmas songs to be especially poignant.  When I hear this song I think about the GI’s in every corner of the world who are in the army for the duration.  They have no idea if and when they’ll see home again.  Crosby recorded this song in 1943. 

Was it Crosby’s version that was being sung in the Godfather when Micheal found out that his father had been shot?
