Why is it that every time some lefty protesters come under fire from critics the media and political left in general goes into "they have a right to protest" mode. As though the mere act of criticizing these dissenters is equivalent to calling for for their end.

Nobody is saying the anti-war folks don't have a right to speak their mind about America's government and the Bush administration's foreign policy decisions. On that same note, however, other citizens also have a right to criticize the critics.

Its how this democracy thing works.
