Former Commerce Secretary Don Evans is the guest anchor on CNBC’s Squawk Box this morning. Evans, along with the usual group of hosts, were just now talking about how government estimates of payroll statistics are always filled with errors. Most astonishingly, one of the errors is that the government can’t correctly identify the number of its own employees.
You’d think that the first step to responsible political leadership in this country would be to get an accurate tally of just how many people are collecting a paycheck on the taxpayer’s dime.
