Washington Post - Tuesday's Republican sweep of the South will reshape the next Senate, replacing moderate Democrats sometimes willing to cross party lines with ardent GOP conservatives who will press their leaders for a more right-leaning agenda, according to analysts. . . .
In South Dakota, Minority Leader Thomas A. Daschle fell to a challenger closely identified with President Bush.
They're describing Tom Daschle as a moderate? That man obstructed and fillibustered just about every piece of legislation the Republicans tried to pass. He also prevented the President from appointing federal judges throughout his entire term. He certainly was not ever "reaching across the aisle" to work with Republicans.
