Here's an excerpt claiming that Kerry won the debates from an otherwise unrelated article.

The clash erupted as the polls made the race for the White House a close one, seemingly tilting Bush's way despite debates that bolstered his Democratic rival's standing.

If Kerry supposedly did so well in the debates then why has his position in the polls been slipping since the last debate? Could it be that the voters actually feel that Bush is the better candidate after the debates? And, if that's true, shouldn't the opinions of the voters be the real indication of who won the debate instead of the opinions of journalists and pundits?

Its just a thought. After all, the debates are supposed to be about comparing and contrasting the ideas of the candidates in front of voters. The media may think that Kerry won the debates but I think the voters are telling a different story.
