The Senate Republicans have issued a press release showing how the Democrats have managed to have pretty much every possible position under the sun when it comes to the “surge” in Iraq.

Basically, the Democrats were ok with sending in more troops to Iraq in December 2006.  Then when the President announced that he was sending in more troops they were against his policies.  Before all those troops were even deployed they declared the surge a failure.  Now that the surge has had some success they’re back to praising the idea of sending the troops in the first place.

But I guess that’s what happens when your policy stances are predicated more on pandering to public opinion polls and getting yourself re-elected than producing sound foreign policy.
