Just got back from watching Team America: World Police. This movie will no doubt be quoted at length by men in bars for years to come. And there are probably quite a few pissed off liberals Hollywood right now.
If graphic depictions of puppet violence (and puppet sex) aren't your type of thing then you should probably avoid this film lest your head explode. It didn't bother me at all, but then again my sense of humor is still stuck in the 7th grade.
I was a bit skeptical going in, but I liked it. It was certainly funny. As for the political message? There is one present, but it tends to get lost in a sea of profanity and doody jokes. As far as politics go I think the best point the movie made was exposing the Hollywood elite in all their "peace, or else" glory. The whole "our opinions matter because we're actors" idea is shredded beyond recognition. Watching the portrayals of these actors in the movie is funny because its all so very, very true. Unfortunately, that message is probably going to fly over the heads of most of the people in attendance who are too busy laughing at the gratuitous violence and dick jokes.
Oh well. At least they're being entertained.
I'm not going to say much more than that because I don't want to give the show away to those of you waiting to see it, so I'll sum this up by saying:
"America. Fuck yeah."
