According to the latest Pew Poll:
Washington (AP) A poll suggests the public increasingly believes the U.S. is making military progress in Iraq, but over half of those surveyed still want President Bush to remove American troops as quickly as possible.
According to the Pew Research poll, 48 percent say the military effort is going well and the same number says it isn’t.
In February, shortly after Bush announced he would send additional troops to the country, only 30 percent said things were going well.
While 16 percent of Democrats said in February that things were going well, that figure has grown to 33 percent less than half of the 74 percent of Republicans who felt that way.
What gets me is the political party breakdown for these polls. It’s been like this for some time, but I just can’t get over the fact that for most of these poll respondents their opinion of the war is predicated entirely upon which party they identify themselves with.
