For a second or two I thought I was looking at a headline from The Onion. The headline is somewhat apt, however, in that it pretty much sum's up Kerry's policies for Iraq: "Ummm, elect me and I'll internationalize it and stuff."
Its funny how Kerry keeps talking about "U.N. approval" making a difference in Iraq. What exactly will a blessing from the United Nations do? Will it make the militants in Fallujah less bloodthirsty? Will Iran suddenly stop supporting uprisings in Iraq?
What Kerry is leaving out of his statements about Iraq over and over again is that all the countries who are willing to help out in Iraq have already sent troops and other support. The countries who don't want anything to do with Iraq are staying out of it and no amount of U.N. resolutions are going to make them want to join up.
