In order for so called "consumerism" in health care to work, the supply of health care must exceed the demand for health care services, or at the very least, the economic forces must be in equilibrium.

They aren't, and now this article in the Sunday LA Times, confirms my worst fears.

An aging America needs more doctors, but supply isn't keeping up. Experts fear worsening quality and dangerously long waits for appointments.

Maybe eventually we can have a health care system just like Canada!
