The blogosphere is having itself a little competition to see who can raise the most money for Spirit of America. If you don't know what Spirit of America is, I'll explain.

Our troops in Iraq are doing everything they can to improve the quality of life of the average Iraqi, and that doesn't mean they're just going around wacking terrorists. Many soldiers have taken it upon themselves to start their own humanitarian missions. Some soldiers are collecting sports equipment for Iraqi's to use and some are collecting musical instruments and toys. The kindness of our troops knows no bounds. One of the more recent missions includes the collection of broadcasting equipment for local Iraqi TV stations so that they compete with al Jazeera and get a slightly less biased version of events out.

Unfortunately, they can't do this on their own. They need help in the form of donations. That's where Spirit of America comes in. This group collects donations and then uses those donations to turn around and help the troops in Iraq. Its a very worthy cause.
