Some Kind Of Correction

Wow...

Religion and government: A Dec. 18 article defending the separation of church and state stated that the Rev. Jerry Falwell claimed that Ellen DeGeneres played a role in the 9/11 attacks and Hurricane Katrina because she was the host of the Emmy Awards before both events. He made no such claim.

I'm sure Rev. Falwell appreciates the correction, but it sure would be nice if the L.A. Times published the title of the story that's being corrected. Or linked to it, since this correction is being published on the internet.

Or maybe (and this might be expecting a bit too much) the Times could, you know actually correct the friggin' article!

Really though, how does such an outrageous statement make it past the editors of a publication like the L.A. Times?
