Due to all the increased traffic to the blog, and the extremely high number of comments on certain threads, we’re experimenting today with some things to make page loads faster.  This may include paginating the comment threads (after 100 comments you will get something like a “go to the next page” link) which would help a lot, but we have to figure out how to get that to work with comment permalinks (which allow you to click on the recent comments on the sidebar and go directly to that comment).

In the mean time you may notice that comments have “disappeared” or something like that.  Fear not, all comments are preserved in the database and will be visible again shortly.  They may just be unavailable as this is worked on.
