A seven-year-old boy has been cited for assaulting teachers.
Mandan police say the boy punched two teachers and spit at them.
He’s a student at Fort Lincoln Elementary.
Police say the boy was removed from school, cited with disorderly conduct and released to his parents.
A kid hitting teachers and spitting at them is certainly inexcusable behavior, but are criminal charges really the best way to proceed here? I mean, the kid is seven years old. How much of an “assault” could he possibly have launched at his teachers?
Seems to me that a call this kid’s parents would have sufficed. Not only does a call to police only serve to exacerbate situations like this, one has to think that law enforcement has better things to do than deal with unruly seven-year-olds.
