The left’s jihad against Rush Limbaugh (their feeble effort to draw attention away from MoveOn.org’s smear of General Petraeus) just got a whole lot sillier:

Without evidence, this would seem to rise to the level of defamation...except that Harkin is protected by the “speech or debate” clause of the Constitution on this.  Meaning that Harkin and his fellow liberals are free to slander Limbaugh as much as they want from the floor of the Senate with impunity.

But whatever.  Ultimately I think this whole “get Limbaugh” thing hurts the Democrats, mostly because it’s all so...contrived.  MoveOn.org accusing General Petraeus of being a traitor hurt the Dems deeply given their close ties with the group (MoveOn has weekly meetings with Democrats to coordinate efforts), but rather than repudiate MoveOn like they should they’re trying to gin up a controversy of their own to draw attention away from it (with the full cooperation of the media, naturally).

Because the Dems can’t repudiate MoveOn.  That means repudiating George Soros, and you just don’t bite the hand that feeds.

Update: Here’s an Ironic flash back for you: Tom Harkin is a phony war hero.

You can’t make this stuff up.
