Many of you may have noticed the ad at the bottom of the right sidebar for Say Anything Alerts, featuring an ugly bouncing picture of me. The ad is for a new program developed by my friends at Super Alerts which sends pop-up alerts for website updates to the desktops of users. Their company is called Super Alerts and they’re creating custom programs, branded with logo and theme design, for each website.
They created an alerts program for Say Anything as an example they can use to promote their products to future clients. Here’s what a pop-up looks like on your desktop:

Here’s what the alerts control panel looks like:

You can download the application by clicking here, or clicking on that goofy-looking ad.
I know everyone reads blogs differently, and that there’s probably about as many different ways for keeping up with blogs as there are readers, but I’d encourage you all to at least give this one a shot. For North Dakota readers you can also set it to get alerts from the Bismarck Tribune, and The Fargo Forum, and for national readers eventually you’ll have the ability to add in rss feeds from other sites to get alerts from them as well.
Again, just give it a shot. I think you’ll all like it.
