Here is the hypocritical Senator Conrad speaking in 1997 about Senator Clinton's veto of flood aid for Grand Forks and Fargo:

No, I didn’t recommend that he veto a bill, but I certainly understand his vetoing a bill that has, you know, in typically Congressional fashion, the old Christmas tree approach. Here comes a bill that everybody knows is going to become law, so let’s everybody attach their own ornament. Let’s everybody attach the thing that they care the most about to it, because they know that ultimately this is going to become law.

Now here is Senator Conrad speaking about proposed farm aid being stripped from an Iraq/Katrina spending bill after a veto threat from President Bush:

Instead, recovery for farmers and ranchers was blocked by President Bush and the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives. That is wrong. As Americans, we help each other overcome disaster. We have not given up. I will pursue a farm disaster assistance package at every available opportunity because I believe it is the right thing to do for North Dakotans and the right thing for farmers and ranchers across America.

A double standard? You betcha. Why? Probably because Clinton was a Democrat and Bush is a Republican.
