Poll numbers show that Obama’s much-hyped speech was sort of a bust.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday is the first to include reaction to both Barack Obama’s acceptance speech and John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin to be his running mate. The numbers are little changed since yesterday and show Barack Obama attracting 47% of the vote nationwide while John McCain earns 43%. When “leaners” are included, it’s Obama 49% and McCain 45%.

So not only did Obama not get a bump in the polls when he made the much-hyped announcement of his VP choice, he didn’t get a bump in the polls from his much-hyped address of the Democrat National Convention either.

That’s gotta be troubling for the Obama people, especially given that McCain’s announcement of Sarah Palin as his running mate has set the media on fire and that the Republicans will have their opportunity to get a bounce from their convention next week.
