According to this poll, 56% of Americans think that the NSA intelligence gathering authorized by President Bush required a warrant. A Rasmussen poll from back in December had 64% of Americans thinking that the President's actions without a warrant were fine.

I'm not going to get into the whole "which poll is more accurate" debate, but I will say this: It is amazing how the media selectively reports these things. The Rasmussen poll got next to zero coverage on the wire services, in the major media publications or on television, but you can bet that this AP/Ipsos poll is giong to be everywhere in the next few weeks. That's because the AP poll came back with results journalists and media talking heads find "interesting." Interesting, of course, because they spell out dissatisfaction with the Bush administration.

Polls reflecting support for the Bush administration are, of course, "not interesting" and not worthy of extensive reporting.

Kind of amazing how that works, isn't it?
