Hunting for Republicans in Paris
While Americans who go abroad to kill people vote Republican, Americans who go abroad to do just about anything else vote Democratic. This is the logic behind the unprecedented effort to get out the vote among U.S. civilians overseas, and the reason that effort is overwhelmingly Democratic.
That's nice. Soldiers are people who just go abroad to kill people. They don't liberate the oppressed. They don't depose murderous tyrants. They don't bring justice to hate-filled terrorists. They just kill people. And they're overwhelmingly right-leaning in their politics too. Thanks for clearing that up for us Slate.
Of course, the premise of the article is that the majority of people who travel overseas are Democrats. Apparently meaning that the more cultured segments of our population are Democrats. Of course, when the title of the article is Hunting for Republicans in Paris maybe they shouldn't have been surprised when they didn't find any.
