I'm amazed that this story isn't getting much more airplay:

The bombs were crude, homemade devices.

At least two people have been killed and 50 others injured in a series of small bomb blasts across Bangladesh.

say more than 300 explosions took place simultaneously in 50 cities and towns across the country including the capital Dhaka.

An outlawed Islamic group, Jamatul Mujahideen Bangladesh, says it carried out the attacks.

Read the whole thing.

Granted the bombs were only small, crude ones, but the size of the organization and the level of coordination it would take to plant and detonate more than 300 bombs nearly simultaneously boggles the mind.

Islamic terrorism in South and Southeast Asia is a largely overlooked and underreported phenomenon that deserves a lot more media air time than it currently gets. If America and the west in general were to appreciate the full scope of the problem, perhaps there would be more support for taking on the problem more aggresively.
