I’m just getting ready to head down to the first day of the Defending the American Dream summit, but a reader emailed this and I think it’s an astute analysis:

I was just wondering whether you happened to know what the over/under was on the length of time Obama and his congress will blame bush if they take power?

I’m certain that within the first couple of weeks we’ll here “Oh deary me, Bush hid how bad things were so I can’t give the 95% of you in the middle class a tax break”. I’m sure at some point we’ll hear “Unbelievably Bush hid the damage to the environment by global warming, I’m going to have to ban CO2”.

It’ll go on and on - Given that the current congress has been in power since 2006 and yet their failure to pass legislation is due to “Bush & Republicans” I’m guessing we’ll be hearing this excuse for every bit of crappy tax & spend legislation through his entire term.

I think the part about “The Republicans wrecked the economy so we can’t do tax relief now” is particularly apt.
