How in the world do you invoke names like Truman and Churchill in the cause of giving up?
The other side can label and name-call all they want, but I trust the American people to recognize that it is not surrender to end the war in Iraq so that we can rebuild our military and go after Al Qaida’s leaders.
I trust the American people to understand that it is not weakness, but wisdom to talk not just to our friends, but to our enemies, like Roosevelt did, and Kennedy did, and Truman did.
I’m pretty sure that Kennedy invaded Vietnam, Roosevelt invaded Europe and Truman dropped an atomic bomb on Japan.
Do we really want to put a man in the White House with this loose of a grasp on history? Or, if Obama’s grasp on history is firmer than he displays here, one that is willing to lie about our history for political expediency?
On a related note, it’s ironic to see Obama invoke Truman’s name here even as the media harps on Bush for having the lowest approval ratings for a President of all-time. You know who Bush beat out for those ratings?
