This is kind of an older story, but it’s the first I’ve heard of it.

Obama’s contempt for the real America shows once again. That missing lapel pin said it all — depite the subsequent attempts at spin.

The president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association has sent a blistering letter to Barack Obama castigating him for a remark he made that the organization says equates its members with “terrorists.”

Speaking at the National Council of La Raza convention in San Diego on July 13, Obama told the largely Hispanic audience that the nation’s immigration system “isn’t working.” According to Obama, the problem with the system is that “communities are terrorized by ICE [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] immigration raids” and “nursing mothers are torn from their babies.”

Of course, said border patrol agents wouldn’t be so scary to the illegals if they’d just stay on their side of the border.  Or, if they choose to cross, did so in a legal manner.

Obama’s pretty stupid to make comments like this because, given McCain’s open borders stance, he’s got it made on illegal immigration.  Most Americans disagree with Obama on illegal immigration, but they disagree with his opponent about the same so what does it matter?

But if he goes around casting aspersions at our federal law enforcement officers he’s going to make himself look a lot worse than McCain.  Because while McCain may not be on the right side of the issue for most Americans he isn’t going around accusing our border patrol of “terrorizing” illegal immigrants simply by arresting them.
