Here’s an interesting ad showing up on televisions in North Dakota from a group called North Dakotans for Affordable Health Care.
The group’s goal is to end a law in the state of North Dakota which prohibits certain types of stores from selling prescription drugs. Basically, the law in question requires that any store selling prescription drugs be owned by a pharmacist. Since companies like Wal-Mart and Target (which sell some of the cheapest prescription drugs in the nation) aren’t owned by pharmacists they can’t move into the state to compete with existing pharmacies and lower drug prices for everyone.
Ending that law sounds like a pretty good plan to me.
