Remember the big scandal about secret CIA prisons in Europe the media was hyping back in December of last year? A European investigation into the matter has apparently found no evidence to suggest that these prisons even exist.
Since our media covered the story with such gusto when the story first broke you'd think they'd be interested in reporting this most recent development, right? I mean, the fact that nobody can find evidence suggesting these prisons actually exist outside of the claims of the group Human Rights Watch and whatever anonymous informants they have providing them with information should be something of interest to the public given the previous reporting. I mean, the previous reporting left a lot of people with the idea that the prisons existed and that we're actually keeping prisoners there, yet nobody can prove that they exist. That is an important piece of information for the public to have.
Unfortunately not one major American news outlet has picked up on this story.
Pathetic, no?
